Came in for lunch and got a tender basket, no slaw extra fries. Everything was seasoned and cooked well, the tenders however were rather small. The fries were shoestring cut, which I’m not a fan of, but they were well seasoned and had a lot of flavor. The cornbread might as well have been Jiffy mix, way too sweet for my liking. The atmosphere however was very relaxed and comfortable, and they had great music playing. One thing I was really impressed by was my dessert. Fried banana pudding… it was incredible. The flavor was amazing, the combination of heat & sweet was a revelation. I asked the gentleman working the counter about it and he said they make it in house. Of course, most culinary masterpieces are. He also said don’t plan on any physical activity. And he was right, I got the itis really bad, had to take a nap. Definitely a must try, see for yourself.

Holy cow! This place is amazing!!! I’ve been to other wing places but this takes the cake! The wings were perfectly cooked and the dry rub was very delicious. Doug, the counter man, was SUPER helpful. I’ve never been here and he was more than happy to explain everything on the menu. Even helped make suggestions on how to get my wings cooked/tossed. I originally wanted 20 wings tossed in mild sauce but Doug suggested that I stick with the dry rub and experiment with the sauces that were at the sauce bar. I’m sooooo glad that I took his advice cuz the sauces were well worth the experimentation. As we were getting ready to leave and me asking for 3 boxes and a bag later, Doug asked if we lived around here and we do. He offered my husband and I a delivery card for quick foxes explaining that they will be doing delivery for them in the west Ashley area and gave me a card for free delivery. Can we say«DOUGROCKS!»

I really liked this place. It was our first time eating there and at first glance the menu looked a lot like a zaxbys. It is different though. So the hubee d’s sauce reminded me of chick fil a sauce, but it was good. Then they have all of these sauces available to use. The wadamalaw jerk is delicious. The hot was nice too. We tasted all of them and i thought they were good. I believe 7 or 8 sauces in all. The staff was super friendly and they offered great customer service. My sandwich was grilled and delicious. I liked their cole slaw as well, it was a nice addition to the meal. The corn bread was interesting, it tasted like yellow cake mix with corn meal. But decent. They also have complementary boiled peanuts!!! A wonderful southern staple, and they weren’t over cooked because no one likes mushy boiled peanuts. Try it you won’t be disappointed. I will be returning to try the fried banana pudding… the fries were seasoned, they weren’t too bad either.

We ordered the Hubee Caesar Salad with Grilled Chicken($ 7.99) and the 4pc Crispy Tenders Basket($ 7.99) for takeout. The pros: local chain, self-serve sauces, good service. The tenders basket comes with a variety of sides(corn bread, slaw, fries). The cons: I’m not sure what puts Hubee D’s apart from other chicken-oriented joints. The chicken in my salad had grill marks, but the texture resembled chicken that has been brined and partially cooked using other means, then finished on a grill. As for the chicken tenders, we just didn’t enjoy them as much as, say, Raising Cane’s. If we were dining in, I would have given the wings an honest try. Perhaps this is where Hubee D’s shines. This isn’t a bad place to eat. I just haven’t been given a reason to say it’s particularly good either.

Hubee D’s is one of the good guys in fast food. Everything that I have eaten at Hubee D’s has been absolutely delicious. The chicken is absolutely delicious, and all of the sides are always good. The boiled peanuts are also such a treat! What I love best about Hubee D’s aside from the food-the excellent service! The employees always provide the best customer service.

Super great wings! IMO hands down the best in Charleston and I do search out great wings. The Jerk sauce is #1 and the Bourbon is #2. Well done guys, well done. I cannot believe I have driven past here a million times and never stopped. Not anymore. By the way, y’all need to make fried chicken. :-)

Pretty good. To be more small time and local they are doing well with brand marketing. Seek this place and try the fried banana pudding and chicken wings/tenders.

All the reviews I read were spot on. Great chicken tenders, they are not heavy like you find at some places, they are lightly battered. Good fries, the best corn bread and the fried banana pudding was sinful. Next time I want to try the banana pudding pops.

Fun place to eat. When you can have free boiled peanuts life is good! Plus they have this large tray of sauces to choose from. I had the 3 piece chicken tenders with slaw(their making my list!), corn bread(amazing!) and fries. Delicious! Wife had a chicken salad wrap, super big. the restroom was really clean but they had no paper towels, went to the front and told them. Goodness two folks jumped right on it! Sweet! Staff was really freindly and made our late supper adventure good.

Food is so good. Freshness can be tasted. Adequate quantities, awesome flavor and so many dipping sauces. Only problem is country music. Came here because agent 89 Steve Smith eats here.

Four things you must get when you go to Hubee D’s: 1) Boiled Peanuts(free!) 2) Wings 3) Goat Island Deelight Salad(or wrap) 4) Fried Banana Pudding Hubee D’s is always clean, and the food is always great. There isn’t that much seating inside, but they do have a nice outside area for overflow. The staff is always friendly and will often come around to deliver your food or take away your plates if you’ve finished up before leaving. Free boiled peanuts while you wait. Salads can be made into wraps. Unlimited sauces right there for you to dish yourself. The wings are said to be some of the best in the city. The fried banana pudding is… well…it speaks for itself. They also cater and are a great option for tailgates during football season!

This is the best chicken strip joint that I have ever been a patron of. We have gone here many many times since they first opened a few years ago, and it has found a special place in our hearts for when we feel like gorging on delicious fried foods that we wouldn’t normally partake in. I generally get the chicken strip basket, which comes with fries(amazing), corn bread, and slaw. The Hubee D’s sauce is very tasty and I use it for both my fries as well as my chicken. They have plenty of other sauces but I always come back to the Hubees. While the chicken is always awesome, I am going to dedicate this paragraph to how good the fries are. I will literally just come here to order fries. They are that good. They always come out hot and fresh and I don’t think I like anyone else’s fries as much as I like Hubee D’s. If you haven’t gotten the hint yet, you should definitely try this place. I deduct one star because occasionally over the years the tables are sticky when we sit down, which is gross, but overall the restaurant is clean and the staff is hard working for Charleston. Protip: They have hot boiled peanuts for you to munch on while you wait for your food. Awesome!

For the record, I didn’t know this was a fast food joint when I placed my order for pickup so I shouldn’t bash them, but the food was pretty terrible. I wouldn’t go back here. They have a bunch of sauces, and who doesn’t like sauces? Well I like sauces, but mostly when they are put on good food. The food at Hubbee Ds isn’t good. Time to reevaluate my life and stop drinking so I’m not too hungover to go to decent restaurants.

Not bad, Is about what i have to say, the Tenders were good, albeit a bit greasy. The wing’s were good, the sauce i ordered was pretty warm and a bit odd for what is considered«buffalo». The Cornbread is very good. Pricing seems high for a fast food style place.

Well… I don’t know what I think about this place. For one any place that gives you free boiled peanuts is alright in my book. Any place that specializes in chicken wings and tenders is one that calls Matthews name. Now, let me get into the food. The chicken tenders were not the highlight of my meal, they were rather greasy but tasted good. The fries and coleslaw were very good; some of the best I have had in Charleston. Numerous types if sauces to try as well, also, if you have read my other reviews you know I love sauces. Hubee D’s loses a a star because of greasy chicken and overall lackluster performance. In would rather go down the road to Zaxby’s for a chicken sandwich.
