Asked my hotel to call a taxi for our ride to the airport. Driver arrived promptly, circumnavigated some small traffic tie ups, and charged us the standard fare in spite of having to wait in some traffic. I expected all of that.
What was surprising was the intellectual conversation we had on general and Charleston history and culture. He was tied in to the archeological community and exchanges texts with them.

Incredibly rude! I just witnessed a driver screaming obscenities (f word several times) at a young lady who was trying to get him to stop blaring his horn next to several carriage horses. He was obviously scaring the horses. I only gave him one star because zero wasn’t an option. I guess he was frustrated over his last customer who got out of the cab seconds before and started walking to his destination while complaining about the cab driver not knowing where he was going.

Fast service and reliable. They use clean, later-model minivans. The staff is very professional. I have used them several times, and they have always been on time. They don’t use meters, so be sure to settle on a price when you call. Otherwise, the price tends to be higher if agreed upon at drop-off.
