A hidden rooftop gem. I didn’t stay at the hotel, but visited for their rooftop bar that overlooks the city and the water. We only came in for drinks, the pavilion punch is extremely delicious. The servers are extremely nice and quick. It was a beautiful day out, so the location provided an amazing place to soak up some sun and day drink. If you just want to relax and have a drink visit the Market Pavilion hotel rooftop bar.

View, food, drinks, service were beyond great! The view was so amazing but really the service was so much better than you would ever imagine. So sweet and southern! I will be back! Ha ha ha!

I travel often and the overnight staff for 10÷28÷15 were extremely unprofessional. On numerous occasions we asked for normal accommodations and expected basic courtesy and yet were treated in a bizarre fashion. I want to give the benefit of the doubt here, but the gentleman we dealt with was unable or unwilling to give a tone of understanding to people like us that don’t live here and simply had the most basic of expectations. Move on along from this place, or at the lest expect to have a hit or mis experience. But definitely stay away from the kitchen, would be our best piece of advice. To be fair(trying to find the good) there is no reason to question the cleanliness or decent location of the establishment, but beyond that keep your expectations on the lower end and you can get by.

I’ve been to Charleston countless times and stayed everywhere in town and around town. I can’t believe this is my first stop to Market Pavilion, but I never want to stay anywhere else. I feel so welcomed here. My room is immaculate, this is an important message. Hotels skeeve me out. The idea of stepping into a shower thousands of other feet stepped into, that’s clearly not clean… Questionable bedding. I have never stayed in a more perfect room. The shower was hard to leave. Our view of The Market and Harbour was outstanding. The staff was kind. The Pavillion Bar, restaurant, pool, and oh yes the view complete with sunset of the skyline and harbor are amazing. The on site restaurant also wonderful. If we weren’t in Charleston we wouldn’t have left the hotel. Thanks for a wonderful anniversary. We look forward to staying again and again!

This review is just for the rooftop bar. The first time we came here, we intended to just have a drink and soak up the view and then head out for a nice dinner. But as we were enjoying our drinks, servers kept going by us with good looking trays of food and my husband just couldn’t help himself: he saw waffle fries, he ordered waffle fries. And that night we had waffle fries for dinner. The portion was huge(not complaining – we ate every last one!) and we were so full that we couldn’t eat anything else. The bar area itself is beautiful, with a good number of tables and the view can’t be beat. If you can manage to be there around sunset, you will not be disappointed.

One of the finest establishments around. Rooftop bar offers great view of the Charleston Harbor and City of Charleston as well as Mt. Pleasant Patriots Point. The steak at Grill 225 is one of the best in the city. Highly Recommended.

This review is for the rooftop bar. Outstanding views and DJ’d music. Good amount of tables lined around the perimeter of the roof top to allow for optimized viewing. The drinks were good, albeit some were over priced(Raspberry Mojito $ 16?) The Food was, by far, the biggest disappointment. Duck nachos, Beef quesadillas, and shrimp cocktail, all had unusually bad taste and were priced above the marketplace pricing. This is something that can be fixed considering all the great food management talent in the marketplace.

Wow!!! Let’s talk about that view-AMAZING! I was surprised to walk on the roof and see a pool, a bar, lounge chairs, and high top tables! It was breathtaking! We were able to snag the last table and the DJ was super sweet to bring us our menus. The three of us ordered drink while we looked at the menu in hopes of sharing an appetizer. My drink was perfect-fruit and refreshing. We ordered a flatbread pizza to share and we all were extremely pleased with our selection! Our server, Andrew did a pretty good job. It was nice that the manager stopped by our table asking where we were from. He offered suggestions on other places to go for food and fun! People were very nice about taking photos for us. The restroom was very clean. As we left and walking through the hotel lobby to exit, the smell of delicious food was overwhelming! The roof top experience is a must for out of towners!

Gorgeous accommodations, convenient location, friendly and attentive staff. Had a great time during our weekend stay here. The rooftop pool is amazing. Amanda Wimbish in the parlor was especially excellent. Definitely recommend staying here while you’re in Charleston.

We didn’t eat here; only got drinks. The offerings are somewhat limited, but when you have a view of downtown Charleston like this, I personally don’t really care. I ordered a margarita. You have to be patient while waiting for a table, but again I think it’s worth it. Go for the view and enjoy the atmosphere.

Spent two nights at Pavilion this week. Great service hotel. Friendly staff helpful and always recognized the guests. The restaurant downstairs is a Charleston favorite and the rooftop bar offers the best views and ambience in the area. Coffee and pastries on your floor every morning save a trip downstairs or to Starbucks. Rooms are tasteful and a good value for Charleston historical district.

We met a friend at the hotel bar, the drinks were expensive but I wasn’t surprised given the luxurious feel of the hotel, I was shocked that they charged me $ 3 for club soda after I had already paid for two cocktails. We ended the night at the rooftop bar, you have to stalk a table to get one but they are all on the permieter so they all have an amazing view of the city so it’s worth it to hover; we even did our good deed and let another couple share out table.

Where do I begin? We arrived in Charleston for a short weekend getaway. It was our first time visiting so we were very excited. We arrived at the hotel and«apparently» JetBlue getaways didn’t book one of our two rooms so we had to scramble to get a second room. Derek and I were given our keys to go up while my parents were dealing with getting the second room for them. After a 6 minute wait for the elevator(we later found out that one out of the two elevators were broken… read below for more on this and see photo) we were taken up to our room which was directly next to the elevator. We were okay with that although that wasn’t too ideal, but then when we went to open our window to view our first views of Charleston, we discovered that our view was a brick wall less than a good away from the window. We went downstairs and my parents gave us their room and they were then«upgraded». Our second and final room was 75 degrees when we walked in and was being turned down for the night at 4pm. So we couldn’t even relax in the room or sit on the bed because it was prepared for sleep. We went downstairs to talk about the air conditioning and my father also called downstairs on his own to see if there was anything that they could do, and off we went for a walk-in the hopes that by the time we got back, it would be fixed. We got back about two hours later to shower before eating at 225 grill and it was the same temperature as it was when we left! Taking a shower was useless because I immediately started sweating after it. I went down to the front desk and told them that I would rather sleep in the hallway and that’s when they said they’d send someone up but they already checked and everything was fine.(They absolutely did not check because we later found out that the air wasn’t working or on and they finally fixed it while we were eating.) The elevator ride that night after dinner was 15 minutes. The second elevator still wasn’t working. Finally we said we were hotel guests and they threw us into the staff elevator. The rooftop bar is very popular and there are lines starting at 5pm. I even said to Derek that I was scared to leave the hotel room because then we’d have to wait for the elevator for who knows how long. Off we went on a walking tour the next morning. We were told by the hotel that it would be a max of 16 people but there were 24 people –We left after 45 minutes. The elevator still was not fixed and it was dreadful waiting for it to come down. That night we had a wonderful experience where we chartered a boat(I did this independently without the hotel) and when we got back we had a 20 minute elevator wait. Then that evening at around 3am there was a group of guys and gals drink and one girl was running back and forth on our floor crying and screaming-obviously drunk. Not the best way to end our last night in Charleston. Steak is good. Go there for dinner, but if you want a carefree trip, don’t stay at this hotel. NAY: probably not best to stay here on a romantic getaway.

Just reviewing the rooftop bar. Hung out here before dinner at Grill 225. We were lucky enough to find seats at the bar as this place was packed. We ordered drinks and the lobster & calamari ceviche from the menu. The ceviche was so good; it came with blue corn chips. There were nectarine pieces in there as well as lemon grass strips, yum! It is beautiful up here; the views of the water and Charleston were beautiful. We were also in time for the sunset! We will definitely be back here for drinks!

Ahhhhhh… what a place. Rooftop bar and Tuna tower to die for more than enough for two people unless one is your wife, she said order your own! Great view of the city and harbor, special place to catch your breath on top floor of Market Pavilion

Second time here and ended poorly like the first. My wife, who is deaf, has a service animal which resulted in the entire restaurant staff not giving us service, blatantly. After presenting correct identification for our dog, we were still given discontent over our presence. Looks like a nice place but the staff definitely needs some work.

I stayed this weekend at the Market Pavilion Hotel. Once arriving they have very little space for you to pull up and valet your car but it works out just fine. The check in was easy peezy, and the staff was friendly. Like others have said they have 2 elevators which because of the massive lines for the rooftop bar can be kind of a pain if you simply want to go to your room. The room was nice. Beds are VERY comfy, and they have plenty of outlets for all of your charging needs. The showers were also nice as they had some great water pressure going on, I didn’t really want to get out. The chamber maids were a bit peculiar when they rang the doorbell(yes, every room has a doorbell) and asked us if we needed the turn down service. 2 ladies that spoke very little English asking questions of guests turned a little awkward. Each floor has breakfast laid out every morning with nice muffins, pastries and coffee. They also have the NY Times available which was nice to have on a Sunday morning. The cost of the rooms are high, which is to be expected. What you get is a comfy room, and great location to all of the cool places in town.

So I read about this place online and heard it was the place to be. It wasn’t crowded Sunday night but the views were awesome! My sweet tea martini was good and the Chocolate cookie desert was on point! Make sure you sit in Raquel’s section of the rooftop bar! She’s amazing and was very delightful. Super informative and extremely friendly!

This review is ONLY on the rooftop bar and it’s my favorite rooftop bar in town! Yes, the drinks are pricy at $ 5/beer. In my group, we ordered Coors, Blue Moon, Guinness, and Mich Ultra – all $ 5 each. Beware that the beer is not served in real glasses. This may be a fairly recent change. I hadn’t been there in over 6 months prior to last weekend and don’t recall plastic cups in the past. The cups looks like pint glasses; they aren’t red Solo cups. Also, my Blue Moons weren’t filled to the top. This may be because they pour from bottles. Now that the negatives are out of the way… Of course, there is a fantastic view of the peninsula and Ravenel Bridge. Aside from that, you can actually TALK to other people. The pop music played is at a nice level. I much prefer being able to connect with people on a deeper level rather than have artificial small talk with a lot of different people. Last weekend was chilly in the low 50’s and there was high glass railing to block the nippy wind. Had I known that previously, I may’ve frequented the bar over the Fall/Winter. I wouldn’t call the wait staff overly friendly but they are not rude. If anything, they are efficient and attentive.
