Holy deliciousness. We were craving some BBQ while in Charleston and this place hit the spot and more. I love the format of ordering at the counter and having a waiter/waitress bring you your food. It goes well with the décor and leaves the place feeling not too fancy or dive-y. My boyfriend and I tried the Pulled Pork and Beef Brisket BBQ plates. For our sides we had Sweet Potato Casserole, Mac and Cheese and Coleslaw between us. The Mac and Cheese is heavenly — some of the best I’ve ever had! The Sweet Potato Casserole was also very, very good. My boyfriend enjoyed his Coleslaw. Both meat selections were delicious, though I preferred the pulled pork over the brisket. The BBQ sauces sitting on the table were the perfect accompaniment. My personal favorite is the white sauce. Let’s not forget the cheese biscuits. They are so good! I noticed you can buy the mix to make them at home — if I didn’t have to travel so far I definitely would have. They’re amazing. Nick’s — thanks for a wonderful meal!

Listen … I’m still in the booth trying to figure out what just happened. Pure deliciousness. We were starving and ordered the chicken nachos for an app. Terrible idea as I was inhaling them while waiting for my food — nachos were a great start. Then my food arrived. Ordered the 2 meat platter. Spare ribs and pulled pork with Mac & cheese and fries. What. Just. Happened. ITWASALLAMAZING. the cheese muffin/biscuits/things were just icing on this piece of heaven. I wish they had breakfast. Job well done Nick. I applaud you.

Yum. I wanted something quick and relatively expensive but where I could get a drink too. Sat at the bar and was happily surprised by the beer and bourbon selections. Had a brisket and pork taco which were good. The Mac and cheese side though was amazing. Food was reasonably priced and service was great.

If you’re craving filling BBQ in a realizing locale, Nick’s BBQ definitely makes the mark! This place is nothing fancy. In fact, it’s pseudo-fast good in that you order your food at the counter and then bring it back to your table. But don’t let that fool you. The food is SOO good! Just get the old fashioned BBQ and/or ribs. The macaroni and cheese is super gooey goodness.

Not cheap, but worth the price. It’s in a touristy area, but it’s worth the trip. The tacos are great, as is the pulled pork sandwich. The beer selection it’s good, but it was ¼ head, even when I asked to have it topped off. I’ll get a mixed drink for the same price next time.

Nick’s BBQ will be heaven for anyone who loves some good ol’ Southern BBQ. I ordered the baked potato with the pulled pork on top which is called the Pig in the Potato Patch. I wanted to get a side of Mac and cheese but I’m sure glad I didn’t because this was a huge potato. I’ve gotten loaded baked potatoes from several different establishments and they always give you a potato that’s about the size of a pear, which is disappointing. Not Nick’s BBQ! This potato was almost the size of a football. They didn’t skimp on the toppings either. It was piled high with shredded pork and it even had pieces of bacon. I wasn’t expecting that but it was definitely a pleasant surprise. The restaurant itself was very nice as well. Several booths along the wall with some tables scattered around and quite a few seats at the bar too. You order your food at the counter and they bring it to you. You’ll have to go up to the front to get a refill unless you can get the attention of the waiters as they walk by because they don’t stop at your table in the middle of the meal to ask if you’ve got everything you need. Some people might not like that but I didn’t mind.

Excellent bbq. I liked the set up. You wait in line order and then they bring the food to you. Its very fast. The menu is large. I got the pimento cheese sandwich it was good but i tbought it was hot but was served cold. Id order something else next time. The mac n cheese and beans were both excellent sides. Smoky flavor to the beans and the mac n cheese was some of the best ive had at any bbq place. The bbq sauces are both very good and gf loved her pulled pork sandwich. Defintely check it out for a quick bite downtown.

Very fair price! 50 for 4 adults. We didn’t even finish all we ordered and had to wrap the leftover. Recommend: spare ribs and Fresh-cut fries. Average: buffalo wings. A tiny bit spicy and tender, not in a traditional way but still tasty. Some people may not like it. Mashed potatoes. Some onions in it so not a fan. Do not recommend: pulled pork. I know it’s the special here but really not tender and yummy. Just alright.

There’s nothing quite like Carolina bbq. If you’re from up north, I encourage you to try this place out and indulge! I ordered the pulled chicken sandwhich with fries, it’s served on a roll with pickles on top. The chicken was decent, I’ve had better since I’m from North Carolina, but I enjoyed this! It’s served with a special«Alabama white sauce» that was surprisingly delicious. By the way, the fries are absolutely perfect. Other members of my party ordered tacos, buffalo chicken tenders and a pulled pork sandwich. I equally enjoyed all of these dishes, as did they. Don’t forget a nice glass of sweet tea or a nice, cold beer.

Being in the south, we decided to get some BBQ bc that’s what you do, right? Unilocal led us to Nick’s and it was a great suggestion. It’s easy to say that this place or that place has the best BBQ. Until I’ve eaten at Nick’s I thought I’ve tasted really good BBQ. NOPE! Nick’s stands above the rest. Why? You can taste the smoke in the BBQ. It ain’t no joke there. It isn’t that artificial smoke flavor either. It’s the real deal. I had the brisket, and while the fat wasn’t trimmed off the ends, it didn’t diminish the appearance at all. The flavor was amazing. The coleslaw was solid, and the mashed potatoes and gravy was likewise solid, if standard. The hubs had the ribs and the smoke flavor was also very evident. They were spare ribs, not the babyback variety. While we normally gravitate towards babyback, these spare ribs were delicious and tender. He had the greens and mac and cheese for sides. Often one to critique collard greens, he really liked the offering at Nick’s. He also had the Glass o’Sunshine margarita. He said it was strong and had a great flavor. I didn’t try it but I trust him when it comes to margaritas and their tequila content. We each got 2 cheese biscuits with our meals and they were a solid addition to an already stellar plate. The next time we’re in Charleston we’ll be sure to add Nick’s BBQ to the itinerary. TL;DR great BBQ in a great location. Would eat again

We were looking for a great place to eat that would easily seat our group of 6, and Nick’s was perfect for that. I love the system that Nick’s, and many other restaurants, have been using for ordering — You take a look at the menu, and rather than ordering at the table(and trying to split the bill if you are with multiple people), you order at the bar/counter and take a number on a stancheon which you take to your table and your food is brought out to you. I have noticed that for whatever reason restaurants using this system seem to push the food out to the tables much faster than the typical restaurant ordering system. We started with the kitchen sink nachos with barbecue pulled pork — We could not get over how great the pork was! The nachos did not last long on our table. I ordered the fried chicken tacos which came with smoked tomato salsa, lettuce, and barbecue ranch and I ordered it with a side of fried green tomatoes. The food came out really quickly and was so great. They really packed the tacos full of chicken and it was fantastic. I loved the fried green tomatoes. The restaurant itself is quite large and looks like it can easily accommodate large groups

Ohhhhh the sauces. We took home the white sauce(for poultry and pork) and the habanero… Yum. Had smoked chicken, ribs, the chili, potato salad, and homemade chips. Potato salad good with little or no mayo taste. The chili was outstanding and nice n spicy. Smoked chicken was cooked perfectly. Ribs were good, nice smoke ring, but not as meaty as the ones we had upstate. Overall a solid choice… Amazing sauces too

Overdue review from early this year. It smelt very good as soon I walked in. the line was not too long. Food: we ordered the smoked bbq wings and the 2lbs of ribs with fried green tomatoes and brisket chillis. The wings were amazing and tasty. Hands down top-5 smoked wings I have had. The brisket chilli was a bit salty for my tasting. However the green tomatoes were done to perfection. The ribs could have been smoked longer because it was not very tendered; but it was well flavored. 3.5÷5 Atmosphere: the place was not too small or too big. But we were able to find seating. It was a very southern decorative place. I did not expect anything less or more for a bbq place.(4⁄5) Service: tremendous speedy service. It had a very quick turn around time.(4⁄5)

This was a great old school type bar-b-q place. You get your food on metal trays with paper, which you can order to be piled high with meats. The food overall was great, and the atmosphere was nice too. Not much to say about the service as you walk up and order they just bring you food. I took a star for it maybe not being the freshest cooked food,(sides mainly) and for onion rings being SOEXPENSIVE to add on. So annoying. They’re amazing don’t get me wrong but come on.

Good food! Reminds me of a fast food restaurant though. You walk in, grab a menu, browse it while you walk up to the counter, place your order, they give you a table number, you go pick your seat of choice. As soon as you sit down and check the time, your food is being brought out to you. I’m all for fast dining! But this seems a little too fast. You know for sure the food is just being kept warm. It’s not all freshly cooked food. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich, baked beans, and potato salad. Pretty good food.

Four star is for the everything in general, and the one star is for the amazing cheese biscuits. This place is semi-self-served, you order at the counter, they give you a number, and they bring it to your table. I had the taco platter with beef brisket taco and fried chicken taco, along with watermelon(to make me feel like I am being healthy). Food are good, especially the fried chicken taco, southern fried chicken does not disappoint me. Beef brisket was a little dry at the first bite, but once you bite into the fatter part, it’s all good. Now the cheese biscuits are the little balls of heaven. They are not quite like buttermilk biscuits, more like a fluffy muffin /cake with cheese. $ 5 per dozen, $ 2.50 per half dozen. We only got one originally and we couldn’t resist to get a dozen to go when we left.

When in Rome(Charleston)… you eat BBQ and Nick’s did not disappoint. I liked the concept of ordering at the counter and having the food brought out from there. It seemed to cut down on wait times and call me cheap but, no servers to tip. I had the pulled pork with macaroni and cheese. The sauces on the table went on both the pork and the mac n cheese — whoops — they’re that good. The cheddar biscuits may have been my favorite part — they seemed more of a cornbread than a biscuit and just had a great flavor. And of course, the tea is excellent. When roaming down King Street, if you happen to see a glowing red pig on a sign, don’t think, just go in and get yourself some delicious BBQ.

This place looks like a chain and its location screams Applebee’s. But don’t be fooled. The bbq is excellent. Brisket was a bit dry but much more moist than any other place in nyc. Service is quick and portion size large.
