Salon Vari

It took me nearly 2 years to settle down with a stylist and salon in Charleston and Jackie and Salon Vari are that team! The salon is open and welcoming, has free off street parking and offers water, tea or wine when you come in. The stylists work like a team and are all collegial and supportive of one another. The salon is clean and has an eclectic funky vibe. Take a break from your current stylist and visit Salon Vari — you’ll love it!

I love this place and the bonus is they have parking behind the building! A big plus for a downtown salon. Salon Vari is located at 101 Spring Street and it appears as if they only have a small driveway but that would be a false assumption because the lot behind the building is quite large by downtown standards. The interior of the building is very elegant and sophisticated so I was happy to relax and enjoy my coffee. I decided to take my daughter to Jackie Guingona at Salon Vari to have her hair cut and glossed because she had styled her hair for an event and it turned out so gorgeous that we thought we should try her out. Both of us are very picky about hair stylists as we have both been burned with a stylist that just says yes and cuts it any old way or uneven and then charges a fortune for the privilege. Jackie listened very patiently, discussed a few options and then suggested a cut. Her cut looked great and Jackie even suggested a few different hairstyles that would complement my daughter’s face shape (rather than pulling it back in a ponytail). Overall, it was a great experience and we will definitely be returning! Ask for Jackie, you won’t be disappointed.
