Sullivan’s has become the premier record store in WV. Every time that I stop in I find something that would never experct to find. That is the mark of a great record store. All items are priced fair and are in great shape. No junk on the shelves. Sam, the owner is great to talk to. You can tell that he truly loves being a record store owner. I rarely ever get rid of albums but the one time that I did he was more than fair. He also takes pride in running Record Store Day the way that it’s supposed to be. If you are in the area, definitely check it out.

I stopped in this place after finding it through Unilocal.Had to get out of the hotel. So I did a drive by and… I almost didn’t go in. I’m glad I did. The selection is great, the records are in great shape and priced fair. Lots of good 80s records. The guy working there Sam I think? Was cool to shoot the shit with and very helpful. I stop in Charleston or at least drive through about two times a year and now I’ll have something else to look forward to when I do. Even if I’m not staying overnight in Charleston I will be stopping here on my way through to buy records.

This Store is a Godsend to Charleston WV. Not only is it 50 yards from where I work but It focuses on vinyl which is much needed. When you walk in a record store and see records… its awesome. They carry CDs and used DVDs too but the choice vinyl is to die for. Any new title you request and a steady flow of classic vinyl.

Great store with an ever-increasing selection of great music on vinyl, CD, and even some cassettes here and there and movies too. Lots of new releases, classics, and if you can’t find what you want, Sam can usually get it on special order for you in a week. They also do trade-ins if you’re looking to swap out some otherwise neglected items from your own music collection for store credit(or cash). They even have a decent selection of starter audio equipment! If you’re a vinyl junkie, a CD collector, or movie buff, you owe it to yourself to drop in and shop here when you have the opportunity.

If you’re into music — especially vinyl — then you need to make Sullivan’s an addition to your«Must Visit» list. With the current vinyl boom you’ll often find a lot of stores in other towns jacking up prices on used vinyl(even when it’s in bad condition) because«that’s what somebody paid for it on eBay.» Not here… prices on used vinyl are reasonable and the selection is always good. If you are willing to dog through the stacks you are all but guaranteed to find that gem you’ve been looking for and you’ll find it at a price that might make your jaw drop(in a good way.) On top of that, Sam(the owner & operator of Sullivan’s) is a nice dude who is always more than happy to chew the fat about not just vinyl, but music in general. All in all, like I said at the beginning, Sullivan’s should absolutely be on your«Must Visit» list.
