Since we live west ashley, we stop in here for the occasional night out and we especially like the craft beer. They have a nice selection that changes and they do a good job with it. We went last week but was disappointed with the overall visit. The place was maybe ½ full but seemed chaotic. Our server was definitely over-extended and we couldn’t catch anyone else’s eye for refills or to get our missing fries. We think we saw the manager, a somewhat older guy with glasses(?), but he kept looking at his phone, so no help there. Though flavorful with good sized portions, the food was sort of lukewarm. We would have ordered dessert but just gave up at that point. We definitely expected more. Paid and left.

I ate here once in the 90’s and it was good. but just never had the chance to return to that area much. decided to return since i was in the area. Don’t think it has changed much. had house salad with shrimp and baby rack of ribs. I like stuff dry with option to add on the side. so i wasnt expecting to get so much sauce on the little amount of meat on the ribs. and sauce on the side. i guess the menu did say baby ribs and maybe i didnt read the description enough. Salad was ample and shrimp was good… There are no rolls or bread included… maybe a good thing cos i always get too full on those. Décor kinda dark and plain… great service. good simple menu selections from steak to seafood. I will try a steak next time.

One of my favorite, reasonably priced steaks in town. Love the burgers and salads. The bar is fun for happy hour and their home brewed beers are great.

Love this T Bonz! We always get seated quickly, and they take great care of us! Service is excellent and food is great! I recommend the ribs, steaks or burgers! Great side options and apps as well! Tommy Texas cheese fries and pickle chips are my favorites! And… Kaminsky’s desserts available too! Ask for Connie on Fridays and you are in for a treat!

This is just another crappy chain restaurant with an undertrained, apathetic staff, and bad food. On our visit we were greeted and seated promptly, but then the disaster they call food began to arrive. The fried pickles were greasy, cold and terrible but the seafood dip was a complete mess. Skimping on the ingredients one would actually want(crab and shrimp) it was nothing but overpriced mediocre nachos. A first-rate rip-off. For entrée my dining partners reported the ribs to be adequate and the T-bone cooked to proper temp but my NY was an insult to cooking. Firstly, the steak was poorly butchered, retaining gristle and too much fat. Overcooked and grey(Grey!!!), what the cook did to my steak qualifies as animal cruelty. I’d like to point out that the service is atrocious. When told after ordering that one of our sides was not available, the server had to retrieve the menu for us to choose another because she had no idea what sides were offered. The wine«service» was quite funny as they struggled to try and imitate what they once heard was proper, but the wine was corked and poured without first presenting the bottle. After the server left I had to pull the napkin off the bottle and check the label to see if it was the one I ordered(it was). Obviously we didn’t order dessert. The price: See my other review of a wonderful dinner for 4 I had in Oregon for $ 120, this was trash for 3 for $ 136(not including tip). I’ll never eat there again and neither should you.

Still craving for my ribs sandwich in another city, in another restaurant, so we bought Slow Roasted Baby Back Ribs ½ Rack, Sweet Potato fries and southern slaw with my husband. It was PERFET for just the 2 of us. He even ate all his portion of Sweet Potato fries, and he usually don’t eat those! We’ll recommend.

The best things about here are the good drinks and happy hour! The food is pretty good. Its not my favorite place for dinner but I like going here after work for appetizers, desserts and drinks.

Second time at this location waitress was nice. Management was nice as well. I ordered the Texas melt and thought I would get a panini kind of sandwich instead it was a sub. I picked thru the meat. The manager took my plate and saw I didn’t like it asked what he could do to fix. I said nothing because it was just me personally. The waitress came back with an arm full of desserts and said we will get one for free and my sandwich was taken off the bill.

Had a great time there last night. We got there at 5 which meant there wasn’t a line. We were seated right away and our server had out drinks quickly. Now about our server, her name is Anna, she was wonderful! funny, professional and most of all no nonsense. She had our order taken and food back to us in a flash. I do like that. The food was really good, wife had the burger and sweet potato fries, she did rave about her meal. I had the chicken fingers and fries. Well done folks I wasn’t disappointed with our meals and worth the money too. We’ll be back.

T-Bonz is a local restaurant that use to specialize in steaks. This West Ashley location is the original and where it all started. They USE to specialize in steak. With all the great places to eat in Charleston this wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of my list for places to go to get a good steak. That’s a shame for built its reputation as a steakhouse. The quality is never really that great, the temps can be off, and their selection of cuts and prices can absolutely be matched by other local and chain restaurants. Why pay almost $ 20 for a rack of ribs or ribeye when you can get better quality for less down the street? The service here is ok. Some servers and bartenders are on point. Some… well they just aren’t. The management is up and down. Matt is one of the faces that has been around for a while now. He’s great, very polite, friendly, and helpful. You can’t say that for all the others. The restaurant has a pretty decent deck that they should consider getting more use out of. Have some bands, do some events when the weather is nice. Utilize that space.

Good local steak house, something for everyone on the menu. They have their own micro-brew selection, I recommend the Nut Brown or Cooper River Red. Good selection of desserts too. This location is what started it all for the restaurant group, so check out the original.

My husband and I often drive by and talk about stopping in, but haven’t actually done so until today. BOY are we glad we did! the happy hour specials are great value for price, both food and drink, and with a lot of different options. We ordered a steak salad and the Texas melt. The steak was cooked perfectly with a great ingredient distribution and the sandwich was delicious, but was on quite possibly the worst bread ever, think foot long hot dog bun. Also, the flash fried Brussels sprouts were fantastic. Overall we would absolutely come here again, but man do something about that bread…

It was a great dining experience. The special, shrimp and grits, was delicious. The sirloin was good. The service was good also. The rocky road cheesecake was fantastic, but the cake my sister had was just ok. In all, I strongly recommend Tbonz to anyone in Charleston.

Very gross! Asked for no blue cheese. Came covered. Waitress nowhere to be found. Told manager and they said sorry. That’s it. Just I’m sorry. Full price for a disgusting salad that was ordered wrong. Ate ½ before I got tired of picking out blue cheese. Can’t believe no effort was made to resolve this. Never coming here again.

I’m not really a big fan of TBonz. It’s just average, I guess, and the food wasn’t that great. I had the Greek salad with shrimp for a lunch special, and it wasn’t that great of a salad. Small portions, only 3 shrimp on the salad(small shrimp too), and it was full of onions– yuck! The main plus was that my salad came quickly– extremely quickly, so I guess they’re basically premade except for the shrimp? Probably won’t be going back.

The atmosphere is average… The wings are GREAT. I can’t say much for the menu because I have only had the wings, but they(the wings) are by far my favorite in Charleston. It would be really great if they could put some heaters outside, that would make me come back during the fall.

The food was ok but not great. The one in myrtle beach was much better. The staff were friendly but the food was just eh, then again I wasn’t that hungry in the first place.

This is not a steak house in my opinion but yet a nice place to get lots of great food options. My favorites from here is the she crab soup, and the tommy fries! I often get the prime rib sandwich and just dont eat the bread, after eating my she crab soup and tommy fries who needs the extra bread which I dont think is offered any more. it is a pub type atmosphere, seating is tight and service has been hit or miss. But anytime I have extra time in Charleston I have to get in here to have my fix of she crab soup

I agree with Matthew on this one. It’s a steakhouse. The servers are always sweet in the dining area and they bring you a mountain of food. We got a fantastic Tuna sandwich last time I was there. That will probably be the last time. Here’s where they lost me. I go around 5:30 for Happy Hour and it was raining and freezing outside, so the patio was way out of the question. The bar was full with one man taking up an entire booth eating. We were told we could just stand around as long as we were aware of the staff trying to get by and that we definitely could not occupy a booth in the dining area to eat and enjoy the Happy Hour specials. «Happy Hour is only at the bar», I was told. So I left with my lady friend and went to Kickin Chikin to eat dinner and enjoy Happy Hour at our table(which wasn’t at the bar…) Not sure about ever going there again. Get there an hour before Happy Hour to secure your seat and beer specials is my only suggestion.
