Absolutely loved The Daily! Everything from the hip atmosphere and the comforting environment made our visit pleasant from start to finish. A cashier stands in front of the counter to take your order. It was busy on a Sunday morning, but the guys working here were no stranger to lines. They were short on breakfast menus, so we didn’t know what we wanted when it was our turn to order, but the cashier was able to assist us quickly in making a decisive decision. The breakfast pita was like nothing I’ve ever had. The flavors were well thought out, and more refined than your neighbor’s breakfast sandwich. The runny egg amplified the pita into a form of enlightenment. The use of Stumptown Coffee satisfied my morning caffeine needs. Very strong cold brew, which washed down the pita appropriately. Additionally, The Daily does a phenomenal job branding their product. Growlers, shirts and everything in between are for sale. And if you’re on the go, the one-stop-shop of an open refrigerator has you covered. Very impressed!

I’d give 6 stars if it was available! Outstanding breakfast sandwich & coffee. Wow. Well done.

Beautiful space. Kind cashier. I wanted a matcha latte but my drink came up short and they offered me a refund but I said I’d just get a mocha. They gave me the matcha and the mocha. Delicious! They had a ton of fun stuff to look at while my drink was being made. I’d love to go back and do it again!

I normally would recommend this restaurant and have spoken to the owner on many occasions while dining with co-workers. In fact, I shared Tequila shots with him one night. The food is average but the service is normally way above everyone else. Typically they bring you cheese nachos as an appetizer and a honey tortilla desert. Tonight I sat at the bar and was server by the bartender(Misfrain) and was ignored and then finally waited on. I did not receive the appetizer, nor the desert and he would not provide me with a detail of my bill when I got my check It’s amazing how one person can ruin the business for a restaurant that is normally exceptional. I will never return, nor will any of my co-workers. While the owner is away, the mice do play

I would put The Daily in my top three coffee shops in Charleston thus far along with Kudu and Black tap. Like Scott and others have said here, Stumptown coffee is amazing so I was pretty excited that these guys have it as I can also buy whole bean and use it for my home espresso. I love that they have a little of everything that way I have an excuse to go pick up some beans. Beer? Smoothies? Sandwiches? Yup I’ll hit The Daily up for a little and make sure I take some of that Stumptown with me!

Great spot for a quick bite at brekky or lunch. I’m a sucker for the avocado toast(with an egg and some magic spices). My hubs always goes for the breakfast tacos and a juice. They may not have iced tea, but the kind lady who served us ran next door to get me one :) Good for a casual breakfast(arrive early to beat the rush) or to pickup snacks before a road trip!

Very pleasant first visit for breakfast. Delicious pastries and a satisfactory set of breakfast tacos. Two tacos for $ 6, not a terrible deal, but very sparing use of cilantro, salsa verde, and a couple of tiny flecks of chorizo. As one can imagine, the taste was not outstanding — under flavored. My dining partner was officially hungry after two tacos of her own, and so we tried a few of the sweets – which were quite good. Didn’t try the coffee but will next time. Very pleasant service and personable staff. Looks like an interesting variety of hard to find condiments, ingredients that otherwise can’t be found unless one ventures to Asian supermarkets.

I didn’t really get what this place was or is trying to be. The website is misleading: beautiful high-res pics of freshly baked bread, cold pressed juices and coffee and sandwiches and smiling faces and — you get the picture. In actuality, you walk in and it’s kind of a sad little space. There’s an espresso machine and a cash register and a few bite-sized(literally — like something you would get on an airplane, if airplanes still served food) pastries. There’s a few uninspired pre-made sandwiches in the ‘frigerated section along with some 4 oz. micro-sized cold pressed juices that are hideously overpriced. It’s basically just a grab and go place, not really in the right part of town as it’s not exactly walkable. To top it off, the proprietor/check out lady was prim, borderline unfriendly, and would probably have been more at home at a junior league bake sale. She curtly informed me they don’t serve soy milk but could make an iced latte with almond milk. I tried it. It was certainly fresh almond milk — it was downright chunky on the bottom. Kinda gross — I threw it out. The kitchen takes up the rest of the space. Seeing what little food/drink they churn out, one would rightly be curious as to what exactly they do all day. Oh, they sell a few Le Creuset pieces of cookware if you’re in the market(??)

I’m in love with the daily. My first review I did not get it but over the course of their time I feel it’s fine tuned the operation and now delivers on all levels. It’s pricey but I am happy to pay the price, the daily has completely frown on me and I couldn’t be happier about it.

This is my first time in Charleston and I received many recommendations from friends before arriving here. A bartender told me to come to the Daily for breakfast and I need to go back and thank that bartender. I got the avocado toast that everyone raves about with a fried egg and it was literally one of the best breakfasts I have ever had(I am a breakfast snob). The service is fantastic and the coffee is incredible. Tomorrow is my last day here and I will be certainly be stopping by in the morning. Do yourself a favor and get the avocado toast. You won’t regret it.

Stopped in for a smoothie on our walk back from lunch at Leon’s down the street. I got the matcha mint, which was delicious and wish I knew exactly how to recreate at home. It was on the pricier side of average, but I’d probably get another one right now if I could. I noticed that aside from their café offerings, they sold some niche grocer products, including Red Clay hot sauce, which we had at a restaurant and really liked. Overall, a nice spot with some indoor seating and an industrial feel.

Officially obsessed with the Daily. It’s super affordable and the food is just so darn delicious! I got the breakfast chorizo tacos and a smoothie, and it was just outstanding. The space is also really fun and modern and it makes me happy just being in there. Love, love, love it. My coworkers that I dined with ordered the avocado toast with heirloom tomatoes and it just looked positively divine. Definitely adding that to my list of things to try there. I wish I lived or worked over on that side of town so I had an excuse to go there more often. Can’t wait to go back for lunch!

Some things have changed at the daily since my last review so it’s time for an update. They haven’t even been open a year yet so they’re still fairly new. It seems they’ve really found they’re stride though. The coffee is still amazing as ever. Something about the Stumptown beans they use make it my favorite café on the peninsula. A little secret, once the warm weather hits, I keep my coffee growler in my briefcase for the off chance that I end up near The Daily at some point throughout the day. If you don’t have one, it’s worth the investment. You pay $ 7 for it, but refills are only $ 4. I can sometimes stretch that into 4 cups of cold brew coffee when poured over ice! You can consistently get snacks, sandwiches, and juices to-go at any time and in the evening they’ve created healthy grab and go options for when you’re just too lazy to get home from work and make a meal. You can also pick up some cool local products, bottles of wine, or a growler of beer to go with that healthy dinner. Also, they added seating… now all can rejoice!

I love independent coffee shops like The Daily, although I was hoping for something better. The iced coffee I ordered was just average… I’m not sure how they make it, but I’ve had better elsewhere. The interior was nice and airy, although seating was limited. Service was fast and friendly.

A little place on Upper King for quality coffee, espresso, and breakfast sammies and pastries? With a tiny cooler of gourmet sides, cold pressed juices and prepared foodstuffs? All with something of a hipster vibe that emanates from the patrons busily coming and going from the front door? Yes, please, this is sorely needed up in this part of town. Brewed coffee is readily available and quite tasty, from a local roaster– Stumptown. Their pour over is decent, but not overly distinguishable from the batch-brewed stuff. Espresso is richly extracted and their drinks lean more to the savory and less to the sweet, so even their mocha lattes lack the sugar bomb rush you tend to find elsewhere. Just be aware of the pricing here, you’ll pay for the privilege at about $ 4 a drink. Same for the pastries, though croissants and rolls are decadent, to say the least. Do note there is no traditional counter for check-out at a register. The workers have pay stations on the side to take orders and process payments, kind like the hotels which have lost the check-in desk– it’s a bit disconcerting if you aren’t expecting it. But luckily the waits tend to be short and the place never feels overly crowded, it’s more like a drop in and then get on about your day kinda place. And for this area of town, that’s a great find all the way around.

I LOVE the morning glory juice! Best stuff in the world! It’s a bit on the pricey side, but so with it! Cold pressed juice with a bit of kick due to the ginger. It’s A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! If you are looking for a place to go on a first date, probably not the best place since seating is very limited. Unless, it’s one of those online dates that you hope will end sooner rather than later.(Don’t ask…) However, if your looking for a grab & go place with high quality items, great staff, and great décor; this is the place!

Similar to butcher&bee but different. They’ve got coffee and tea, sandwiches and pantry items. Many of the butcher&bee salad and mezze items are available to go. Different because there’s not much seating area. Similar because like butcher&bee they’ve got well thought out branding and beautiful décor. Somehow these two places are trendy without being too try hard. Good place to meet someone, grab coffee and head out exploring downtown. I love how in the past 2 years this small piece of upper King has blossomed. I give the credit to butcher&bee for making such good food people can’t resist coming to a once unpopular area of town.

I stopped in the Daily for something sweet after meal at Butcher and Bee and to scope out their new shop. Its a cute little place, offering mostly pastries and drinks. There is also a little cooler with soups and salads and such to take home. I got a hot cocoa and a chocolate almond croissant. The hot cocoa was really good– less sugary sweet and more of the taste of rich cocoa, which means it was definitely good quality stuff. The croissant was to die for super rich, and the filling was dense. I LOVEDIT. it was also huge. Both were a bit pricey at 4 dollars each but I couldn’t complain since they were very good. My only complaint was the weird confusing check out system they have going. I’m not sure what they are trying exactly but… it was disconcerting because they checkout people aren;t behind the counter and so we were momentarily lost and check out was a bit confusing in general.

Such a cute take-out place! I stopped in for coffee while walking down King St. When you walk in you are greeted by a very nice staff member who takes you order on an iPad. I just had an iced coffe today, but there is a vey nice selection of grab-and-go sandwiches, salads, and sundries in a cooler to the left of the entrance. They also sell a small selection of fresh local produce. As well they do fresh breakfast sandwiches at the counter until 11:00am. They have a modest but very nice selection of wines, and a «wall of beers» on tap(with growlers to fill at your leisure). As I said above, though, I just stopped off for a coffee. I had an iced latté. It was super strong and super delicious! The Daily will be seeing lots more of me.
