Seriously I miss you, I’ve been to Charleston 6 times over the last 4 years and this is the one meal that continues to taunt me on a day to day basis. On my last visit I had 4 lobster rolls in 3 days. Love it. Can’t wait to come back.

Immortal lobster has a lot of potential to be really good as a food truck. I’ve had the Maine lobster roll twice, bread nicely toasted and the lobster is full of flavor. A bit pricier than I’d prefer for food truck food. The homemade whoopie pies have a nice filling but the sandwich is dry. Side dishes are nothing to write about, so they need to work on that for such expensive prices. Even a nice side of fries is better than chips or standard slaw. Otherwise just order the lobster and you are set for a tasty meal!

Personally I like Cold style better since It has a touch more flavor, but The warm lobster roll was very buttery and generously portioned. I am all in for food trucks since some of the food I have had from them are pretty good. Price is high I understand this is a self run food truck. Their overhead cost is possibly high too.

We have wanted to try this truck for a while; a few times we’ve tried to go around 7pm and they’ve already sold out. We went at an off-time for an early dinner and we were the only customers. They now have space in the small parking lot beside Blue Bicycle Books on King Street. There’s a small picnic table for seating. We were both so excited that we didn’t really think ours orders through — we should have each gotten a different roll so that we could split and enjoy both kinds offered. In our haste to order, we both got the Connecticut Roll. It’s served warm. It was fantastic. The roll was filled with huge chunks of lobster and the split top bun was toasted just right. We are going to try the Maine Roll soon($ 18/roll). I wasn’t a fan of the sides — you get either chips or slaw. The slaw was made with vinegar of some sort, but it was bland IMHO. The chips were just… regular chips. But we didn’t come there for the sides, we came there for lobster and they know how to do it!

The $ 18 lobster roll and chips were standard. The lobster was served warm and lightly coated with butter. The food truck was located a short walk from the Hilton Inn Garden in North Charleston.

Being from New England i know my lobster. His name is Earl. Their rolls are awesome and definitely deserve a try! My go-to is the CT Lobster Roll which for you mayo haters out there is juicy Lobster poached in butter. No mayo allowed on this roll! Count your calories later and enjoy the flavor ride these guys take you on! Also appreciate the name which provides a fun fact(Lobsters live forever). Read about it.

Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang!!! Simple and delicious! A little more expensive than anticipated, but well worth it. Succulent, buttery lobster on a nicely toasted New England split top. The chips were nice and crunchy. Would definitely go back to try the grilled cheese.

Get the lobster grilled cheese and tell all your friends so they will be jealous of you and your amazing life choices. Definitely don’t share with anyone because every.single.bite is heaven in your mouth. The slaw wasn’t that great IMO and I wish I’d have gotten the chips instead. I was trying to be «healthy». lesson learned.

I couldn’t be happier that I came across this food truck today. I love anything and everything lobster, so when this was an option at the Pourhouse’s farmers market I didn’t even consider eating somewhere else. The lobster and havarti grilled cheese is AMAZING! So warm, so gooey, so buttery. It’s been like 4 hours and I can’t stop thinking about it! It was $ 10 for the sandwich and a side of either slaw or chips. If you’re a lobster lover, go find the Immortal Lobster — you definitely won’t be disappointed.

We tried the Connecticut style lobster rolls. They were a tad expensive but totally delicious. I would really recommend this foodtruck for anyone with a lobster craving.

How can you NOT stop at this truck?! I just had an amazing lobster grilled cheese! Perfect for weather like this. Lost of meat, local bread, and Havarti cheese! Simple and perfect! Its not often you can find food like this and when you see it, you need to stop and get you some!

I happened upon the Immortal Lobster by accident as I was driving down 17. I had actually packed my lunch already, but couldn’t resist the call of a delicious lobster roll. I opted for a small maine-style(served cold w/mayo). The bread was amazingly buttery and the lobster practically melted in my mouth. I appreciated that the mayo was super light and didn’t try to overpower the lobster. I also tried some of their fresh-squeezed lemonade and it was very refreshing. Not too sweet and not too tart. «Just right» as Goldilocks would say.

The Immortal Lobster food truck serves a great lobster roll. Lobster rolls are among my very favorite foods, so I am always eager to find a good option, especially in the Charleston area, an area in which they are unfortunately pretty scarce. I tried the regular size of both the Connecticut version(served warm and buttery) and the Maine version(cold with a little bit of mayo). The bread was perfect, toasted and buttery. I knew it was likely I would fall in love with the Maine style roll, but the Connecticut style really surprised me as well as I am not a huge fan of mayo. It wasn’t over done at all, and the lobster meat on both versions was very fresh. I wish the rolls were stuffed with a little more meat. But of course this is coming from a lobster addict.

Wowzers, what a treat! When I saw Joy S.‘s review of a lobster food truck cruising the streets of Charleston, I was on a mission to check it out. First I had to go see about a boy in IL, but as soon as I got back, Breanne and I made lunch plans to head down to Folly Rd. and have lunch with them in the True Value parking lot. We ordered the lobster grilled cheese and the two half a roll basket so we could try a couple bites of the warm and cold lobster roll offerings and each get a half of the grilled cheese. First off, the bread is fantastic. It comes from a local shop and is toasted to order for all of the sandwiches. Then of coarse inside that pillow of buttery goodness is the fresh delicate lobster. Both style rolls are fantastic and as a lover of putting different combos of fixings between two buttery grilled pieces of bread and calling it a grilled cheese, that sandwich was my favorite today. I love Havarti cheese and the sandwich was grilled perfectly. It was great meeting the owner Chris, and I even got to show him his Unilocal page that he’d just found out existed. Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing them around town again soon.

I truly, truly can NOT say enough about this food truck! They came out to our apartment community last Thursday and it was so good! First of all, this was like the 3rd or 4th attempt for them coming out to our community. Previously it was either weather related or something else. I don’t remember. All I know is that distance sure as hell makes the heart grow fonder. We ordered the lobster roll and lobster grilled cheese. Each with a side. One had chips the other had house made slaw. Laura and I split and I tell ya, it was all I could do to keep from woofing down mine, and then taking her lobster roll too! I absolutely love how they give you a fresh lemon wedge to go along with your lobster. You squeeze that lemon on the lobster and take a bite? BOOM! You’re in food heaven. The roll that the lobster comes on is probably the best I’ve had. I enjoyed my meal so much that I had to go back up to the truck to tell them I liked theirs way better than 167 Raw and The Granary’s lobster rolls. — The only down side, and this is my personal opinion. The lobster grilled cheese wasn’t all that great. The concept and idea sounds good on paper; but the execution was not there. If you ask me, and I know you’re not; but I would stick to the amazing lobster roll. That thing is on fleek!

I’ve been on a mission lately to try every lobster roll Charleston has to offer. So far, The Immortal Lobster is a strong contender for best lobster roll. It’s neck and neck with 167 Raw’s right now. However, what sets The Immortal Lobster apart from everyone else is that it offers both Connecticut(chilled w/mayo) and Maine(warm w/drizzled butter) style rolls. I tried both, it helps that they offer mini versions if you can’t decide between the two, and I’m hardpressed to choose which one I like bettter. Also, they might be the least expensive option out there. They’re $ 16 and include a side. Some might still think that’s pricey. I hear people squack all the time, «I can get a real lobstah roll in Maine for $ 10!!! Well, we’re in Charleston, not New England and there are no $ 10 lobster rolls here, period. They’re mainly around James Island and West Ashley during the week, but I just saw they added downtown to lineup, which makes this lobster-loving girl very happy! Check out their website or Facebook page for the schedule.
