We stopped in Charleston, WV to stretch our legs and eat a bite of lunch while on our way back home after visiting children/grandkids in Lexington, KY. We discovered The Peanut Shoppe when we walked down the steps of the classic 1911 former U.S. Post Office building that currently houses the public library. It’s just across the street. What a find! This little store has every kind of roasted and chocolate covered nut imaginable. A yummy discovery!

Long live the Peanut Shoppe! Nothing beats the aroma of their peanuts wafting out the door on a mild spring day! Brings back such great memories!

50 yrs old and going strong. Fresh hand made Carmels and pulled creams & hot roasted cashews and Spanish nuts. The nuts were roasted toasted in their shell on site from an antique planters gas burning roaster. See pics, the shoppe isi nestled in downtown on a brick lined street across from the old public library. Perfect snack when enjoying a sunny november afternoon Some of the recipes for the confections date to the early 20’s.
