Super cute little pub. I was annoyed that there was a woman sitting all by herself at a full-sized table and wouldn’t even scoot over to let the 4 of us sit with her, so we were squashed into a corner next to the band, screaming to hear each other. It also took for-ev-er to order a drink, BUT the owner was super friendly and recommended a great drink for me. It felt very comfortable as it’s similar to my local up in CT(Anna Liffey’s). I’d like to check it out on a night without a band.

I love it. Like, really love. Like, I might break up with my boyfriend and move in. Ok… Too far. But for real, beat whiskey selection I’ve seen outside of Ireland and they even have bourbon and scotch, not just Irish whiskey(I don’t even like Irish whiskey!!!). My love for this place is so strong that I ordered an Irish whiskey Manhattan, hated it, gave it away, and STILL come back for more! Witchcraft! Anyway, great authentic Irish whiskey bar/pub atmosphere. I haven’t eaten there but I’ll touch base when I do. The bartenders have been very friendly and helpful as well, and I really appreciate that. I’ve heard that one of them is an owner so that’s even better. Really a great place.

We love love seanachis! The Irish coffee is amazing(hot or iced), the staff is delightful, and the food is always delicious. The root veggies are a side dish that I crave for days, no one makes them like they do. The atmosphere is authentic and very laid back, many days there is great live music. I know there’s a back patio but most of the time I’m too busy inside enjoying the Irish feel to go outside. I highly recommend keeping an open mind and stopping in for a whisky, Irish coffee, or Moscow mule and having a bite!

A hidden jewel in the Lowcountry. A really fun and unique place to go and have a few draft beers and their whiskey selection is unparalleled. A nice taste of the Irish anytime of the year in a very comfortable, quaint pub setting. Tuesday night is burger night and they really hit it out of the park with a delicious double stacked burger with Irish cheddar, caramelized onions and Dijon mustard. Live acoustic music adds to a really fun atmosphere. Worth a drive out to Johns Island if you are sitting at home scratching your head about where to go out tonight.

Its been over two years since I joined the club and Seanachai continues to be one of my favorite places in town. There is truly no place like it. Just when I thought it was as awesome as could be, Gerry and Kelly took it up a notch and added a kitchen. HOLYSHIT that food is amazing. I had my first Irish Boxty there, and can’t believe I made it 31 years without that in my life before. The menu is small, but oh-so-delicious. Tap list continues to be solid, always something interesting to try along with the solid steadies that offer something for everyone. The music is fantastic, cocktails are impressive, more Irish whiskey than I’ve ever seen on one list, service is super friendly, back patio is awesome… I should just stop and sum it up: best. pub. ever.

My friend that lives in the area is a member at Seanachai’s. She took me here for some drinks during my visit. It is a great little Irish pub. They have about 10 beers on draught and a large selection of whiskey. The beers on draught rotate which is nice(unless you have a favorite). They just added food. The menu is small but has all the Irish staples that you could want. We had already eaten so didn’t order any food. But I am looking forward to going back and trying some of the food.

How has NOONE Unilocaled this place yet!!! This place is awesome in the strangest way. Driving by you wouldn’t even notice it tucked in a tiny strip mall on Maybank. Then you think«how good could a tiny bar, in a tiny strip mall of a storage center/bank/supply center be?» Just a weird location all around. I really had to talk, almost drag, my husband into the place. He barely got in the door and fell in love with it. We will be moving to Johns Island in March and it’s definitely going to be our local go to place, especially now that they will be serving some food. It’s the quaintest little Irish pub. There is an annual fee because it’s a private club, but that’s just a weird technicality due to liquor laws that will probably go away once the food starts getting served. The owner Gerry and bartender Tyler are so much fun and so personable. If you’re looking to watch the latest ball game, you’re in the wrong place. No TV’s. You have to talk to each other!!! They make their own fresh squeezed ginger ale and are constantly trying fun new concoctions to drink. Their beer selection is very nice, even for me who isn’t a beer girl. The list of Irish whisky’s are endless. Added bonus, which I never realized, there’s a really cute area out back with a a fire pit and plenty of seating. They often have live music, but we haven’t seen it yet.

This pub is AWESOME! You can’t write a review about this place or even walk in without instantly thinking the word GEM. Seanachai fits the definition of the word in every way and is such a great place. It’s a truly authentic Irish pub with a very cool and quaint atmosphere. There is always a great selection of craft beers on tap, hand crafted cocktails that are among the best in town, a huge selection of Irish Whiskey and some funky live music several nights a week but what truly gives this place it’s personality is it’s owner Gerry. Gerry is such a great guy and is always fun to talk to. We live just down the road and can hardly drive by without stopping in for a pint and a wee chat. Like I said this is a true neighborhood gem and one of my favorite places to be in all of Charleston.

Seanachai, which is pronounced sean-a-key according to Gerry the owner, is an awesome Irish pub on John’s Island. Excellent hand crafted drinks, cold beer, and a timeless atmosphere. Seanachai doesn’t give in to the ever growing number of TVs in bars/restaurants and I’m so thankful for that. I find myself able to truly relax in there, have a good conversation with friends, while still enjoying a lively atmosphere, and always meet interesting new people. You are as likely to meet a 70 year old conservative Charlestonian as you are a 24 year old hippy. It’s a great gathering place that accepts all and serves each customer like they are an old friend. A Charleston favorite. I hesitated to write a review because I want it to stay sort of on the DL, but I think Gerry should get all the business he could ever want, so here I am!
