We had our wedding reception here this past October and we, our friends, and our family are STILL raving about it. From my first meeting with Jeri down to the last minute before our ceremony, she was wonderful! She responds to emails and phone calls very promptly, offers wonderful suggestions and makes you feel as if your wedding reception is the ONLY event she’s working on(and, believe me, it’s not). She works with a team of professionals(Tonya was also amazing) who strive to make your event unforgettable. I highly recommend this beautiful venue for any event and wouldn’t have changed one thing about it. The menu was also out of this world. As a side note, they also serve an amazing lunch during the week

What a wonderful venue! Jeri and her team know how to host an event. We held a corporate event here in the summer of 2015. It was an absolute pleasure working with this venue throughout the sales and planning processes, and the event, itself, was a great success. Thank you to the entire team! We will definitely be back to host our 2016 venue in your location.

Sign up to receive the daily specials. Main menu has salads, sandwiches, and soups. Everything is fresh and delicious. Get there early or they might run out of the special. Quick, friendly service. Casual atmosphere. Order and seat yourself kind of place, but they will help out if you need anything.

I went here for lunch with a coworker– and it was such a nice treat! The atmosphere is truly lovely and a relaxing! We sat outside and it was spacious and enjoyable. Inside felt a little cramped around lunchtime with the rush from MUSC, but it never felt crowded outside, the tables are spaced really well. And despite it being right around noon, we got our food really quickly, which I appreciated. It a basic order at a counter and have the food bused to the table(they give you a little plastic number) — but this casual aspect actually doesn’t detract from the classy feel of the place– even thought it’s not white linen or anything– it’s certainly much nicer than your average sandwich shop! They have a basic but very nice lunch menu– most options run around 10 or more dollars for salads and sandwiches, so some may consider it pricey. BUT I thought it was well worth it for the atmosphere. I got a basic baguette with boursin, artichoke, tomato, lettuce, and onion and it was filling and tasty. I would go back here in a heartbeat– the sandwich was good but the experience was really what made it– such a nice retreat on a work day. You forget it’s a weekday at all! I HIGHLY recommend it for anyone working downtown who needs to forget the office for an hour!

We were married here about 18 months ago. Beautiful venue both inside and out! Excellent service, and Jeri was fabulous to work with for all the planning. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but it’s downtown Charleston, and it was absolutely perfect for our wedding. I would highly recommend the venue. We came back to visit a year later for lunch, which was also fabulous. I would highly recommend Mediterra catering! They are unbeatable!

Truth be told, I only order one thing from here. The Asian salad with ahi tuna. I die for this. It is expensive — I spent $ 16 plus change on this salad and a cookie. But it is worth it. Yum. I order mine just the way I want it with an extra dressing on the side to marinate my tuna in. They are always accommodating. Well, almost. They won’t give me the recipe for the dressing which makes the salad. Jeff, the owner, usually works the register and he has the personality of a wet newspaper but the rest on the staff are really nice. It is REALLY busy with the hospital staff across the street, but decent inside and downright delightful on the porch in the fall and spring. Sometimes no seating during high lunch time. You do bus your own tables – but that seems quaint here and not a pain in the backside! In other words. Go.

Fantastic atmosphere. Phenomenal food. Club sandwich was perfect. A nice, quiet, quaint, Southern/Charleston place to enjoy lunch.

This place is absolutely fantastic! They have amazing salads and the most awesome seating area. The whole place feels like you in a whole nother world. It’s decorated lovely and just feels so… idk classic southern. Their hours are weird so check before you go in. I enjoyed the little bun of bread they served with the very generous salad. Stop in you will not be disappointed!

OMG. if this isn’t the quaintest little restaurant in downtown Charleston. I went there for lunch today and I just loved it. It reminded me of the architectural details of some houses in the Bronx… yes. the Bronx. They just don’t make details in houses like they use to. It was full of business people just quietly chatting amongst themselves. You order and sit and ta da. your order comes almost immediately. It was a delightful lunch and I will definitely put it on my go again lunch places. Awesome

Absolutely stunning, and so very Charleston. My sister had her wedding reception at the Wickliffe House after getting married at St. Luke’s right across the street. The location of Wickliffe was a big draw(although it’s not in the historic district) and they also didn’t require all of the«packaging» with food/lodging/wedding coordinator like the William Aiken house. We had shuttles to transport people back to the hotels and the shuttle was able to pull up right in front, which made things much easier. The house itself is beautiful, with a typical Charleston side porch with large white columns. The side lawn was the perfect place to set up the band and dancefloor as well as an additional bar. The food was absolutely delicious and made everything we asked for, from a carving station to a sushi bar. The girls were all able to get ready upstairs which was SO much fun. Being in a historic Southern home with high ceilings, incredible architecture, and beautiful portraits made it all feel so special.

This was a beautiful setting for our wedding last fall. The house was the classic southern house I wanted and it was near to downtown vs a plantation. Highlights: — More low key than the more famous houses downtown — Nice lawn area up front. We danced underneath the stars looking up at the lit house. It was magical. — Inside was also nice, allowing enough room for people to mingle and we got ready upstairs. — The food the catering company that works with this venue(Mediterra) made was delicious. Lowlights(my flip side to highlights): — People had to take a cab there and back from the center of downtown Charleston where most out of towners stay. — Lawn was actually smaller than it looked — Street it’s on and neighborhood is kind of random I’d recommend it for a wedding for sure.
