Come for the ice cream and ice cream only. We stopped here after a five hour trip. The hotel recommended it in the hotel catalog. Walking in its not much and connected to a feed store. The place fit in with the surrounding area and had a very townie feel. The food itself sucked. You could tell everything was pre bought and frozen. The ice cream though was very good.

So your out in the country on a rural road, on the edge of a small town and out of the corner of your eye you see a banner that says brisket sandwiches. But it’s on the side of a nursery and feed store. It’s easy to miss 62 Twist, it’s sort of hidden on the side of the feed store but if your out at the Charlestown, IN State park or just feel like taking a drive in the country it’s worth stopping and finding this place. Inside your taken back in time, it feels like part 50s dinner and part ice cream shop in that I’m fond of finding out west. Inside is decorated with tintypes and old signs, cute chrome tables and chairs and really friendly staff. Like many small town places like this the food is not premade under a heating lamp waiting for you to pick it up. Instead, everything is made to order and it takes a bit longer for the food to come out so sit down and explore all the signs and old maps and newspaper articles on the wall. Or go into the feed store and pet the friendly labrador dog that is asleep in the middle of the store. Once your order is ready everything is going to be really good! Great chili cheese fries, brisket sandwiches or today when I went back with coworkers I had a really good shredded chicken sandwich on a croissant. Everyone in our group ordered ice cream or milkshakes, we had 12 people with us and ordered a lot of food. But they got everything right and had food coming out faster than I thought they would. Take a little time to explore the feed store, it’s kind of fun and has some local craft stuff too. This is the second time I’ve come in once alone and once with a large group. All my friends enjoyed it and plan to go back. Since I work nearby it’s likely I’ll drop in several times a month. Since the food is good, atmosphere is fun and so much better than any fast food joint. Cons Be patient, they can be a little slow since they make everything when you order it. Locals will give you the typical small town look over because they don’t know you but the staff is friendly and after they check you out the locals go back to whatever they are doing.
