I’ve been going to this place for years and have always enjoyed everything I got — this past visit was no exception! I’m only feeling particularly moved to write a review and knock some stars off due to my experience at checkout. I paid with a credit card(my order was about $ 25) and after the girl swiped, she turned the monitor around and prompted me to tap a selection for the tip(it’s a newer, fancier POS system). There were three buttons to choose from — all for varying %‘s, none less than 15%. I was really taken off guard! I’m happy to throw some money in the jar when I walk up and order a few bagels and a coffee … but an obligatory tip? I don’t want to sound cheap — I’m a great tipper and I’m always happy to do so. I just don’t like feeling like my hand is being forced. Know what I mean? If the management wants to comment — perhaps I misread the screen? — I’ll gladly amend this review.

Excellent baked goods. My favorite are the scones. All fresh and buttery. Go early as they often sell out of items. The bakery is a hidden gem in Charleston.

A+ ///One of the best bakeries in Rhode Island. Great pastries, coffee, iced-tea, and incredibly friendly service. Also, the best cinnamon buns ever baked(and eaten).

Love this place! Super friendly staff, never mess up an order and everything is very fresh and delicious! The only thing is that in the summer, it’s soooooooo busy! Lol which is good for them but not for you if you have to be anywhere on time! And they aren’t open year round, so it’s a bummer for this local!

no no no — this place is a solid 5 stars. The negative reviews have nothing to do with the baked goods they offer. Bad coffee? Not enough stuff? C’mon! If they run out of stuff it’s because it is ridiculously delicious. I am a trained pastry chef. When my husband brought home an assortment of their, I took one bite and demanded to know who they were. This is legit. I cannot believe people are not coming from far and away for this place. But maybe I should shut my mouth now so I can keep it as my hidden gem.

Pros: * Convenient location * Ample parking * Solid coffee * Breakfast sandwiches * Outdoor seating Cons: * They only have a few tables so you have to wait for one if it’s busy * No WiFi * No indoor seating

Best baked goods in Charlestown, but probably also the whole state of Rhode Island. You have to try the Breakfast Calzone with a Ginger Ale by Bruce Cost combo. The owner is super friendly and they’re quick to get you in and out of there if you’re in a rush!

I hit up the Bakery this past Sunday with my wife &3 year old son. It wasn’t quite lunch time but not too early either. There was a bit of a crowd probably grabbing something quick on their way to the beach. It’s kinda small inside with only 1 table while there are a few out front. The counter had 3 teenage girls waiting on customers who seemed to be doing a great job with the rush of customers. I had a basic order: cinnamon roll, egg & cheese croissant & iced mocha latte. I found the cinnamon bun to be pretty awesome. It was definitely fresh & fluffy. The frosting wasn’t overpowering but definitely sweet. Our egg & cheese croissant wasn’t out of this world but definitely better than anything you’ve get microwaved at a chain coffee place. My only real complaint was the coffee. My latte was kinda weak. Maybe I shouldn’t complain since they’re a bakery that sells coffee instead of the other way around? It’s definitely not a place to sit & eat: just grab & go. If you’re in the area at the beach I don’t think there’s much else to offer but the place is definitely worth trying.

Holy Cow — who would have thought we could find a bakery like this at the beach?! The croissants are as good as any I have eaten anywhere in the States and the other pastry items are just decadent! Great service and amazing food!
