Only ate here once. Sushi was terrible, but everything else tasted good, except size proportion.

Daughter and I decided we didn’t feel like cooking anything for dinner since it was just the 2 of us for that night, everyone else was at work. We been here many times with family and friends, but this is 1st time I’ve done check in or review. The menu is good well rounded for those who like sushi and those that do not, my daughter being one for not lol We started off with our favorite lobster rangoon for app.(so good) I had sushi and bento boxes many times but decided to go with the steak and chicken hibachi same as my daughter. We enjoyed it very much steak was cooked as ordered. I was happy they started serving beer but sad they not serving Sake :( It is a clean, friendly plus very local Japaneses restaurant and very happy they are in our small town!

It’s good! I’m really glad Charlestown has a sushi place. Yamato roll is excellent. 4 stars because the service isn’t bad… it’s just not 5 stars.

Pleasantly surprised by this place. Very nice in the inside and food was very good and extremely reasonable. Calling all my charlestown friends to visit so we can keep this restaurant in business.

I have eaten at Yamato at least 10 times since opened several months ago. The food has been consistent, the prices reasonable, and the service most often efficient. A couple of times I had a longer wait than expected, when I was one of only two or three tables present. Another time I had a waitress who was too forthcoming with personal information. However, overall I very much enjoy eating there or carrying out. Yamato is a tremendous addition to Charlestown’s menu choices.

What a great addition to Charlestown! Basic but authentic interior, relaxing Japanese meditation music and nicer than expected seating and tables. TV I. The back is of tropical fish instead of sports or news. I had teriyaki chicken and fried rice. Just a tad too much salt for my tastes, most will not mind. Fried rice was great! Serveice friendly and extremely fast, again not what I would expect for this area. I’ll be a regular for lunch if they keep this up, even if they were in Louisville. Sorry for the bad photos, my cell phone camera is broken and takes odd colored photos.
