If you find anything better than this grilled cinnamon bread let me know, because I live in one of the food capitals of the world, and this outstrips ‘em all.

Disgusting hole in the wall. I was traveling through the beautiful town of Charlevoix and though a quaint dinner like this would be nice. I was horribly mistaken. Was greeted by a disheveled teenager who looked like she hadn’t showered in weeks. Was placed next to the restroom when the entire place was vacant(should of been my first hint). Food was bland and very limited. Was told they are not allowed to place cheese on there eggs… what?! Ordered eggs and three strips of bacon. Bill came to $ 14.50. Outrageous! Spoke with, who I thought was, the manager about the matter. Wouldn’t do a damn thing about. I don’t say this often but I can’t wait until this place is shut down.

Highly recommend the pumpkin bread french toast… really, really good. Biscuits are very fluffy and Huge! Very friendly waitress… she gave good suggestions, refilled my drink quickly, but didn’t smoother us.

Not as great as I remember, but the french toast is still very good The business is for sale and a new owner could help out as the place seemsto be hurting and relying on a reputation fromthe 80’s

Having read about this place in Roadfood, we arrived hoping for excellent pancakes, and that is exactly what we got. Each pancake is enormous, available in either buttermilk, raspberry, or blueberry. In addition we had a delicious maple roll that was unlike anything we had ever had. We would certainly come back here if we’re in town again!

We went there for breakfast. While we didn’t order pancakes we did have their omelets. Mine was wrong and I had to wait while the others ate. I have definitely had better. Very high priced and quality not that good.

It pains me to give this joint a low rating as we used to always drive the 30 – 40 minutes from Torch Lake JUST to come to breakfast here and walk around downtown Charlevoix while up north. Until recently it’s been a few years since I’ve visited, but a few years ago this place was THEBEST breakfast in town. People often waiting an HOUR just to get a morsel of their delicious pancakes or thick cut french toast showcasing their homemade bread. So of course I talked it up to my fiancé– ‘Their pancakes are huge and delicious, with fresh berries, and homemade breads!‘ So when we visited to find out not only these once ginormous pancakes normally the size of a dinner plate shrunk, and charged the same amount. Their once plump, juicy, perfectly cooked sausage was now a shrived piece of jerky. I was über disappointed on this particular trip, and a little embarrassed finding myself making up excuses for them. ‘Well it used to be really good… I don’t know what happened.‘ I honestly don’t see myself wanting to make the trek for breakfast, I can make better in our tiny cabin.

This place is great for so many reasons. They have the best French toast ever as I’m sure most people already know. The rest of their menu is ok nothing too out of this world. They make their own breads which make the sandwiches very good but outside of the French toast which is a 5 outta 5 alone this place is just a regular over priced breakfast joint in charlevoix

Fresh, tasty, homemade baked goods!(but the coffee seemed overly expensive for a pot of diner coffee…)

Never again…, my morals won’t let me. The cost of the food is absolutely insane. Everything is A al carte and every little thing cost extra. A $ 1 to put a tomato on a $ 7 burger and another $ 1 for lettuce as well? There are«No cell phone» signs everywhere… 1 is ok, but to put them everywhere even on the menu is just plain rude. There was 1 waitress in the room we were in and she was barking«rules» at everyone… a man at the next table over took out his cell phone and just looked at it and she came running over yelling at him. Every table in the room just rolled their eyes and laughed at how ridiculous this waitress was being. Sorry, if I’m giving you business and paying out the behind for it… don’t give me a list of rules to follow. There was 3 of us, I got eggs and toast because I couldn’t bring myself to spend anything extra here. The eggs were runny and disgusting but I wasn’t about to ask the waitress to have them cooked better. The total bill came to $ 45 of us 3, and we just got water to drink. All these other reviews say the same thing… you would think the owners of this money pit would catch on?

It only takes once, maybe two visits to Charlevoix to realize the best breakfast in town is the one you make at the cottage. This place(along with FlapJack, HarborView, and Judy’s) never fails to disappoint.(I’ll rate those dicks later.) As for Juileret’s(NOONE knows how to pronounce it… even the servers have different takes.) This place blows(mainly) because it is UNREASONABLYPRICED. Food and portions are average at best but almost $ 60 for breakfast for my wife and I and a 9 yr old and a 4 yr old… absolutely ridiculous. Even if the food was out of this world, I still would never go back just out of principle(or basic common sense)

This place is delicious! Though pricey for *one* slice of French toast(as much as $ 4.75, depending on the variety) it’s worth it every time! Their eggs are awesome, and their homemade(?) breads out of this world. We crave Juilleret’s when we aren’t «up north.» I skipped the fourth and fifth stars because of their«fresh squeezed OJ…» I saw them pouring it from a name brand bottle. WHAAAT?!? They charge $ 3.50 for a large glass of fresh POUREDOJ. That’s junk!

The lunch sandwiches were pricey for what you receive, a lot of bread, no meat, pickles or chips. The blueberry pancakes were good but not worth $ 3.50 each. I had breakfast here about five years ago and it was a good experience. I can’t say the same for this visit.

All I can say is never again. Expensive … shockingly so. The food was so-so. I have to believe this is a place that stays open because it used to be great … in the 1980s. Our group of three ordered coffee, water, 1 piece of toast, a egg white omelet(that was teenie-tiny) and 1 piece of French toast and one order of bacon. Our bill was crazy expensive — as if we were eating steak at a top-drawer steak house. I was so looking forward to eating at at Juilleret’s — and was so disappointed. Really felt cheated. A shame, really.

The food is always good. And home fries with onion and multiple cheese choices?! Yes please! I know their bread/french toast is their big thing — and don’t get me wrong it is delicious. I always seem to get something else because the french toast is very very sweet. If you are new to the place, get a slice and share it! The service is the reason why we’re at 4 stars here. There is ALWAYS service issues. Even if no one else is in the restaurant the food comes out and different times and drinks are forgotten about. This latest time people around us ordered and got their food because we were even said hello to by the waitress. Since I’m a sucker for home fries, a couple bites of french toast, and an omelet to my liking, I continue going back every time I’m in the area.

We stayed in a motel just across the parking lot from Juilleret’s, and got take-out breakfast from there based on some positive reviews we’d read online. We second the recommendations to try the berry pancakes(they offer blueberry, strawberry or raspberry — and unlike many other restaurants they cook the berries right in the batter instead of glopping pie fillin atop the cakes) and the grilled rolls. I couldn’t imagine a grilled maple roll, but I tasted my partner’s, and it was wonderful — gooey and warm and caramel-y. The restaurant is a bit spendy, but if you want something a bit more special than fast food, this is a great choice.

I had heard that Juilleret’s had some of the country’s best pancakes– turns out, I heard right! I got the raspberry pancakes(although they had blueberry and blackberry as well). The pancakes were large, but light and fluffy, with perfectly crisped edges. Honestly, some of the best I’ve ever had. My boyfriend got a Denver omelet, which he said was good, but it paled in comparison to his side of grilled cinnamon raisin bread. The bread is fresh made at Juilleret’s and absolutely perfect. Don’t get it toasted– get it grilled! It’s sweet, buttery and soft in the middle. I guess the only thing I was a little surprised about was the price– for the omelet, pancake, a side of sausage, coffee and a glass of juice, the total was almost $ 40– which is a little pricey for a roadside diner in upper Michigan. But, when you make the country’s best pancakes, I guess you can get away with it.
