Amity Barber Stylist

The owner of Amity Stylist, Jerry Rhodes, has been cutting and coloring my hair for 17 years. He is a barber, a stylist and a perfectionist at both! I’ve always received excellent service at Amity Stylist salon and its sister salon in Harrisburg, Studio 7. At Amity Stylist, you get superior service at a great price. I highly recommend it!

All I can say is GiGi! GiGi! GiGi!!! I have one the toughest manes in the universe to color and style. I’ve always been told I have enough hair to cover 4 heads!!! :o I’m not complaining, in fact I thank my mom everyday for passing her crown n glory to me. It’s a great thing, but I really feel sorry for anyone who ever has to do my hair. In the past, I was lucky to find fantastic and patient stylists and developed great relationships with them… and they developed a great relationship with my hair ;p lol. But now, I’m in a new city. I recently moved to Charlotte and needed a «new look». The last time I colored my hair was 5 years ago. A lot of hair + regular salon visits = an empty bank account: p But I thought, «5 years??? Yeah ok, it’s time!!!» So I ventured out to find a salon. We all know the nightmares we’ve faced just closing our eyes and pointing at one. Well, after a 5 year «salon sabbatical», I guess I forgot about that. Long story short, I ended up with orange hair at the random place I chose. (I’m Filipino/​Chinese/​Spanish/​American… meaning I’ve got some THICK DARK BROWN HAIR ;p) I only wanted some highlights, but I think the stylist got overwhelmed with the forest she was styling ;p haha! Thankfully, my style angels were working double time that day because when I got home (with my crown of horror), I immediately looked for a place that could turn the nightmare into sweet dreams!!! First I have you to thank TRACI20!!! :D I read your review and it just felt honest and genuine. So THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!!! Needless to say, my visit to Amity Stylist was a storybook happy ending! :D Today, I went out to do errands and got an enormous amount of compliments on my hair!!! Gigi is «the bomb»!!! And I quote «the bomb» because Gigi likes to say that ;) haha! Not only is she an amazing stylist, she is a beautiful lady with a beautiful heart and I’ve made a new friend. :) I have never done a review in my life, but Gigi and Amity Stylist are worth the effort to share the wonderful experience I had with them yesterday. I wish everyone the same experience and no doubt you will if you go see Gigi!!! :D

Went by there today because they advertised «Walk-​Ins Welcome». However, I sat in the waiting area for 15 minutes + and still no one had the courtesy to speak to me or ask the time-​honored «how can I help you». After my attempts to flag someone down failed, I decided to leave. Way too many barbers in the Charlotte area to waste time on a new one :-)
I cannot comment on their work as it did not get that.
