Borealis Salon

Love! I have lived in Charlotte for the past 10 years and am just now finding my perfect salon and stylist. I love that Borealis lets the stylists do things their own way and choose their own products. I go to Mary Scott and I absolutely have loved everything she has done for my hair. I always leave there looking gorgeous and she makes me feel like we are old friends when she cuts my hair. She doesn’t try to push products on me and works with any budget. I can’t wait until my next haircut!

NY fashion week hair styles have nothing on Borealis! Coming for a trim here is a HAIRAPY session that will leave you so satisfied you’ll keep coming back for more. Many salons these days are all smoke a mirrors. They distract you with shiny things in hopes that you don’t notice the mediocre hair style they managed to affix atop your head. Well, Borealis breaks that trend wide open. The stylists at Borealis are extremely professional and enjoy listening to some great music while you get your trim on. My personal experience has been with stylist Noël Lance. I cannot tell you how GREAT he is with color (both men’s and women’s)!! I’ve seen him take yesterday’s wannabe and turn it into tomorrow’s fad.
If you decide to hang out with the guys and girls at Borealis, you will notice that the salon has some limited parking. Don’t even try to park in the back (you will need a can opener to get out). Parking on the street can be very limited, so I’d suggest parking in the neighboring lot used by many businesses adjacent to the salon. The salon itself is an old house that is an interesting shade of seafoam green. The temperature in the back rooms can get a little warm in the summer, so please dress accordingly. Each stylist accepts credit cards and offer their own hand selected hair care product lines. You will easily make a friend or two with each visit. Everyone is very friendly and eager to satisfy.

First time coming to this Borealis and it was a great experience. Noël Lance did my cut and I could not have been morepleased! As another reviewer said, I described the general look I was going for and it ended up looking WAY better than I could have imagined. On top of being a great stylist, he is funny and personable. I like that he communicates by either text or email — whichever you prefer. This made it easy to make find an appointment that worked with my busy schedule. The salon itself is very cute. I like that each sytlist basically has their own bedroom, as it is located in an old renovated dilworth home. This makes the experience less noisy and more personable than your typical salon. Definitely give this salon a try — and ask for Noël!!!

Been seeing Noël for about a year now and I have always been so pleased with my hair! He always listens to what I want and can trust that I will love the outcome! Super convenient location too! Noël provides great service at an affordable price and is great at what he does! Glad I found him! Check him out at Borealis!

Second time here and I love it. Used to see Noël at t Reid but when he moved I had to too! Very friendly & fun and new location is super cute & easy to get to! I usually just text him to make appointments and he is always very accommodating! Great service, and my hair always ends up looking like exactly what I envisioned:)

Same great service I’ve always gotten from Ashley. The new location is cute, easily accessible, and nicely decorated. I really enjoyed that I can make an appointment online instead of having to call. Highly recommended!
