Clean & Pressed Quality

When I dropped off the clothes I was given a receipt for 18 shirts. When I went back to pick up the clothes the guy said ‘you counted wrong. you only had 17 shirts.’ I chose not to get into an argument, paid for 17 shirts and left. I always count and recount my shirts. There’s no way I would have made a mistake. If he genuinely found only 17 shirts right after I left, he should have called me right away and told me that. As things stand, I’m suspicious that either he lost one shirt and is blaming me for it, or someone stole a shirt and he’s now lying to me. On any given day, if someone comes to me and says, «I made a mistake. I’m sorry.», I always forgive them. This guy is shady. They’ve permanently lost my business. I’m taking it elsewhere.
