Foodie Call

After using Foodie Call several times (mediocre at best) this last order is the final time we will use their «service». My $ 70+ order arrived COLD after the driver was late and did not hand me food out of a delivery hot bag. How am I supposed to save COLD medium rare steak?! I called immediately and was reassured my order would be refunded. Three days later the charge was posted to my checking account. I called again today and was informed «no record of my issue was on file». I even gave them the name of the employee whom I spoke with. They claim they will refund the $ 15 delivery charge, that is tbd…
I will not hold the restaurant responsible for the cold food as it was cooked exactly as ordered so the error is solely on Foodie Call and their service alone.

Do not use them! It takes over 2 hours to receive your food, even though they say it will deliver in 30 – 40 minutes. The employees are incredibly rude, and they will lie about your food almost arriving, so you won’t cancel your order. Once the food arrives, it’s cold. They then try to blame everything on the restaurant you ordered from (or you). Again, stay away from this company. Use grub hub or postmates!

Order took 70 minutes on a 30 minute promised order time. Customer service was extremely sarcastic when I called to check on it, would not do anything, and said that it was not long enough to matter. He went so far as to play a sound app laughing at my frustration while I was talking. Ready for a new food delivery company to come in and take their place!

If I could give 0 star. I will give it. I made a mistake of ordering food using this service and the order was all wrong. The restaurant «Dragon Fly» from where order was delivered, was wrong and when I reached out to them, they just blamed «foodiecall» for mistake on their site and when I called, foodiecall they said, sorry we cannot do anything as the menu from dragonfly is not available and now they cannot do anything about it. they charged my card and I have received food which I have to throw. If this is how they are going to treat customer. You should call restaurants directly and be specific to what you order so you don’t hungry at the end of the night. I will delete account on foodiecall.

It’s nice to have delivery options for a variety of restaurants in the area. I use this service often when I don’t feel like running out to pick up carry out. They also have a delivery option for beer and wine, which makes it extra easy to plan dinner.
However, wait times on the website are always estimated a lot shorter than delivery takes… With a 30 minute estimate it usually takes 45 – 60 minutes for delivery, so I always take that into consideration when ordering.

If you are okay with waiting one to two hours for cold food, this place is perfect. This is a great idea, in theory, that is poorly managed, in reality. If you need food and can’t leave the house, I recommend a national pizza chain that delivers!

I am currently transplanted to Charlotte as my son is an inpatient at the childrens hospital. I cannot leave to go get food whenever I want and we were tired of hospital food. We ordered via foodie call. The process was simple, the food was delicious, but the time it took was absolutely ridiculous. Placed my order at 530 pm, and it wasnt until 615pm that I received an email they «placed my order» at that same time I got a call from foodie call letting me know they would be a little late (est delivery time was 615−630pm). I mentioned I had just received my orper placed email and I was assured they didnt forget my order and were just running a bit behind due to traffic.
At nearly 730 pm, after giving the local driver directions to the Levine Childrens hospital and standing out on the corner to flag him down I finally got my food. Will not use this service again. I dont have 2 hours to wait and I dont appreciate being lied to about traffic causing a 2 hour delay.

I wish I could give it 0 stars! We used this delivery service three times and we had to wait over two hours to receive our food all three times. Enough is enough! Just go get your food, you will save money and a lot of frustration!

So easy to use. Was having lazy day, but craving a good dinner. Only took 20 mins! Food was hot and delicious! Only a 5 dollar service charge. We will definatly use againn!

Two major issues here:
1) I’ve used them twice, and the order has been wrong both times. Not horribly wrong, but mistakes.
2) They added an almost 25% driver tip after the fact, without my consent. Look, if you want customers to subsidize your drivers’ wages, add an option to tip when you order online or have customers sign on delivery. NO ONE has cash to tip.
Next time, I’m using GrubHub or getting off my lazy ass and grabbing food myself.

This service is expensive which would be ok if they weren’t completely incompetent. Orders frequently late, wrong or both. No concern for the customer or righting their mistakes. After being delivered an incomplete order again and being told they will get around to redelivering my food when it fits into my driver’s schedule, I am finally done doing business with these amateurs.

People order from Foodie Call for the convenience lazy factor. Sometimes you just don’t feel like leaving and pizza/​chinese just don’t cut it. We’ve used them for a few years now and spent a relative FORTUNE. However I have to say we will NEVER use them again. I cashed out our points and made our last order. The last few times we’ve ordered have been nothing but issues. Our orders were being placed 5 minutes before it’s expected arrival times and sometimes not even confirmed until after our expected delivery times. I understand that they get busy but it’s gotten to the point that it’s not longer okay. I’ve had my delivery fees refunded and apology post cards with money off etc. but it just doesn’t compensate for how much money you end up spending on bad, cold, late food. Accepting the cons for the convenience is just no longer something we can do. The last straw was waiting for 2 hours for our Indian food order only to have it be the wrong food. Neither dish that arrived was the dish we ordered, and when I called the foodie call employee said they were really busy. He asked if I wanted them to refund me or call the restaurant and get the right food. I said at that point I just wanted to be refunded. He then tells me well we’ll have to call the restaurant and confirm. Basically flat out calling me a liar! Hello we’ve been using them for years and never have tried to put one over on them etc. He said he’d call me back and then never did. I was beyond livid at that point. So never again will we use them and our wallets and waist lines thank us!

Never again! My boyfriend has been using foodie call for years and I was never impressed with the hour long wait time and lukewarm food, but it was an okay service for those times you don’t want to leave the apartment like the day after St. Patrick’s Day bar craw, which was the last time we will order from. We ordered Chinese from Dragon Fly and settled in with our water bottles and aspirin to wait on this day of recovery and could not have been more disappointed with any delivery service.
55 minutes after we placed the order the driver calls to say he can’t find our address. At this point the reader should note we live right off a major road less than half a mile from the freeway. Family, friends and über have always found us without fail on the first try. A little frustrating that he is leaving the restaurant after our food should be there but we give him the apartment complex name and anxiously await our food.
10 minutes after that foodie call corporate calls to say the driver can’t find us. We let them know we already spoke to the driver. 10 minutes after the call with corporate the driver calls again to say he cannot find our apartment. At this point it is getting ridiculous but we give him precise instructions from the restaurant to our place (one turn onto the main road out of the restaurant parking lot and then from that very road only one more turn into our apartment complex!). When he still had not arrived 20 minutes later (and twice the estimated delivery time) we called and said we did not want to pay the delivery fee on this order, and customer service had no problem with that. Half an hour and no food after this we call again only to find they had cancelled the entire order.
Though I still do not understand how a professional driver cannot manage to go straight from a restaurant to us, it happens. What really bothers me is that after years of monthly foodie call orders customer service could not care less that we waited over 2 hours for food that never showed up. I would not recommend this service to anyone.

I was using the service to you if it would for my business and was thrilled with the service from sart to finish, Prompt text at each step of the process. Delivery in a fine amout of time. Viva Chickens food was great too. To me a great experiment and a new direction o lead my business into

Don’t even bother – it’s faster, and much cheaper, to just go get the food yourself.
We have used this service seven times, and too many of them were so bad it’s just not even worth trying. Why should I pay a delivery fee plus tip for something that ends up taking more time than just doing it on my own?
Requests from the comments section are never fulfilled, and once the driver acknowledged that he didn’t bring part of the order – too bad! I wrote asking for a refund and never got a response, and when I called they said it was too long ago to do a refund. It was an argument instead of them actually giving a hoot, and that’s even more trouble to deal with.
No way do I went to spend $ 70 on takeout and have to spend ten minutes on the phone with the delivery gal trying to talk her into the building when it’s not that hard and her only job. Again, I would have actually saved time had I done it all myself.
Plus, $ 70 for takeout from Cajun Queen and we don’t even get bread when we specifically ask for it? No way! On the phone the next day, they couldn’t have cared less.
Forget Foodie Call. It’s a frustrating waste of time and money.

Terrible experience. Ordered my food and it was an hour wait which was fine, then I get a call that they were going to be 10 minutes behind which was also fine, however that turned into about 40 minutes late. Get my order and they clearly did not check the bag before leaving because they left out our sauces for the wings we ordered. I called and they basically said that since it was just sauce that it wasn’t a big deal. That if I wanted it delivered that I would have to wait an additional 40 minutes or possibly longer. I don’t know about you guys but I don’t eat my wings without a dipping sauce so it ruined my food for me.
I won’t be a repeat customer here. Maybe there’s another service locally that checks your order properly before delivering it.

This service is the biggest rip off. I placed an order at 8pm and was quoted a delivery time of 9:15. At 9:45 I called when it hadn’t arrived yet. The person I spoke with sounded totally clueless. He asked if we still wanted our food and that they didn’t deliver our order because they got too busy! He offered to refund the $ 5.00 deliver fee but it would be another 45 minutes. What a joke!?! DON’T USE THIS SERVICE IF YOUR HURGRY.

This place is ridiculous. We ordered our food at 7pm and should have had it by 8:15 at the latest according to the delivery estimate. At 8:45 we called and the guy answering was a complete jerk about it and told us that while we had an order and a confirmation email that they hadn’t even placed the order yet. When we asked if they were planning on, say, telling us if the order hadn’t been placed or that it would be delayed they told us as if it was OUR fault that no they weren’t. They were «really busy» tonight and they «couldn’t help if the orders can’t be fulfilled.» Um… then what is the point of providing delivery estimates? What is the point of your service at all???
These people are a crock of a service and it makes me SO sad that Grubhub/​Seamless doesn’t exist in Charlotte. The website is a decade outdated and you don’t even get your food. Awful.

Stranded at home with no car. Not feeling so hot. Chilly day. What’s a girl to do? Foodie Call to the rescue.
I had the trifecta of factors working against me on this Monday. Add to that a craving for some delicious and soothing food… and no desire to make anything myself.
There are a lot of restaurant options on the Foodie Call website. However, my choice today was a no-​brainer when I saw the Viva Chicken logo. Soup, stuffed avocados and a two liter of Coke. Yes please. My order was just under $ 30 including delivery fee and tip. Took about an hour. All completely worth it. Seriously, I needed those avocados.
My delivery guy was super nice. He called on the way to the restaurant to let me know his status. He also apologized when he arrived for the delay… even though he was right on time. Super nice.
Things to know: most restaurants have a $ 15 ordering minimum. Delivery fee usually runs about $ 5. If you have a group of people, it’s a deal. Make sure to sign up to get special offers, discounts and codes to your inbox.

So, it’s pouring rain & I have a meeting from 6:00 — 7:00, with nothing in the fridge. Why not check out Foodie Call. I logged on for the first time and thought the online ordering process was very simple. The site offers a variety of restaurants, access to view the menu, and the option to order immediately, or select a delivery time.
So, I selected my restaurant, chose my items, and selected my delivery time for 7:30. After that you can indicate cash, or charge, and if you choose charge, include tip if desired. Note: most restaurants require a $ 15.00 minimum purchase and there is a $ 5.00 delivery fee.
I arrived home and at 7:10 my doorbell rang. A very cautious delivery man was there and removed my meal from a heat proof bag. With that said the order was perfect, and warm. Overall, I was very satisfied, but do wish there are more restaurant options.
I look forward to another crappy day to order again.
