* Let me start by saying that I was prepared to pay several hundred dollars for full color and highlights. I am easy to work with and new to Charlotte.
I was really excited about the opportunity to book with Jonathan, however he was nothing but rude throughout the process. From sending my initial call to voicemail and then responding with a «Who is this and what do you need?» text followed by «If it’s for an appointment go to …». No exaggeration, these are verbatim.
I was given his number by the salon and told specifically to call, not text. Further, after booking, he text me «When u made the color u must didn’t read under color that I do not color first time clients or clients with a relaxer.» After a back and forth conversation via text (because he never returned my call or email) he basically left me hanging.
I have heard that Jonathan does good work but his attitude is terrible and he thinks very highly of himself and his work after working with «celebrity clientele». I give everyone the benefit of a doubt but after this experience, I will never recommend or patronize this business.
I ended up going to Volume Salon and working with Andreia who was incredible. This salon was modern, the staff professional and friendly, the prices were much better, and I was in and out at my scheduled appointment time and the environment was very comfy.

BALD SPOT IN CROWN!!! I would not recommend Jonathan Stewart for any weave services. My experience was horrifying when I had to remove my sew-​in after only 10 days due to the soreness in my scalp. Upon removal of my install my hair began coming out in clumps around my crown. My hair continued to come out days after the removal, resulting in a soft ball sized bald spot in my crown. He was very unsympathetic and suggested it was my fault my hair fell out. I am natural, have thick full hair, and have never had an issue when I’ve gotten braids installed. However, his braider, braided my crown entirely too tight. In which, I advised him of this at the time of service, and he just advised me to take some Ibuprofen. My dermatologist confirmed this was traction alopecia due to trauma from the tight braid. Jonathan was extremely unprofessional & discourteous in the way he handled this situation. I would not recommend his services.

Derickus is a wonderful hair stylist! Everyone that I ask where did you get your hair done – they always say Hera by Him, Derickus. He really knows the latest trends and what looks good on each individual. His shop looks chic and beautiful inside and the service is excellent. I’ve been going to him for a year and now I get compliments on my hair all the time! I love that you can make appointments online as well!

I made an appointment with Darickus after seeing his work with different sisters around town and I was not dissapointed when he styled my hair. He is a natural talent and really pays attention to your face and hair grade in relation to the haircut he gives you which is something that can be very helpful. The shop is well kept and the atmosphere is laid back with jazzy and contemporary gospel tunes playing in the background. As I looked around at the other stylists, I saw that all of them do good work and so I would feel confident going to them for followups as well.
