First of all, what an awesome name! Frank the Tank! I had visions of Will Ferrell in Old School pounding beers and running naked through the street. If you don’t know Frank, he is the vending cart run by JJ’s Red Hots. God Bless the young man at the grill, working on such a hot day! He really earned his pay! At least there was a separate order taker/cashier, so he didn’t have to do everything! What do you get for $ 4? A high quality char grilled hot dog that will fill your a$$ up. I had the Char Heel Dog with chili, slaw, mustard and onions. It was so good, that there was mustard on my shorts and onions on my sneakers. If you love hot dogs, especially JJ’s, look for this cart to show up at local Charlotte events!

My favorite hot dog joint; on wheels. Winner, every single time. We were enjoying our regular Sunday patio time at King of Pops and guess who rolled up – Frank the freaking Tank. He’s chock a block full of all of my favorites from the JJ’s menu. They have a few signature dogs on the menu, sausages, chips, bottled water, and all the fixins. Went with my go-to #1, extra relish, 86 the Webers. Solid dog. The pickle spear really brings everything home. And that chili relish? Dude. I’d eat that off of my foot. $ 7 will get you a signature dog, chips, and a bottled water. Not your average street-side hot dog, though. Much, much better. Frank, you’ve done me well.
