I was really excited to visit this place because of its funky look and DDD. But it was a total let down. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it just us and like a couple of other tables so they were not busy at all and the service was so incredibly slow and bad. Our appetizer and the kids meal we ordered came out pretty fast but then we literally waited for like 30 minutes for our food which we learned later was just sitting under the heat lamps for like 15 minutes. There were like 3 servers hanging around not busy while our food just sat there. And our server was hanging out at a table sitting with them for like 10 minutes when our food was just sitting there. Finally we got up and asked where our food was and it still took another 5 or so minutes for someone to bring it. The tacos were soggy by this time and not good. Aside from the bad service the food was just a total let down. The kids meal was gross and our tacos were soggy and it seems the oil was old because everything fried had a bad taste to it. This was a bummer because this was a place we were excited to visit and we left not even enjoying or completing our meal.

We have lived here 19 years and I just found the best taco in Charlotte! The szechuan salmon taco at Crazy Fish! Outstanding!

Awful experience!!! went there for lunch, place wasn’t busy at all. Took them forever to get our food and when we got it it was cold. All there dishes are seasoned the same way the only difference is that is the sauce that they put on top. Very bad flavor not to mention the taste of the old oil that’s probably haven’t been changed in a while. Save your money and go somewhere else

I came to this place because of DDD. They certainly live up to the visit. The place is a true dive with whacky decorations and dump atmosphere. I say dump with the best intention. The menu is fun and appealing with crazy tacos rotis and entrees. Another bonus is they have a parking lot. I had the bulgogi and potato cake tacos and the Souther chicken toto with honey butter sauce. A true superstar on the menu is the jalapeño cheese grits. The bartender /waitress was excellent and super friendly. Overall the place is great and a must visit when you are looking to have a dinky meal in ultra comfy surroundings. FoodDude!

The service kept me going back for a while. It’s always been good. The food is fun… and a bit different… in a good way, but doesn’t seem consistent. Depends on who is in the kitchen I guess. I will say they’ve got the most amazing house salad. Try it. Love the patios.

Really cool spot! I thought it looked a little funky from the outside, but the food is amazing! I had the salt and pepper wings and also the shrimp platter. Both were great. The wings here are super good. I’ll definitely be back!!!

Krazy Fish was a let down mostly on service. Once my order was taken, I never saw my waiter again. Poof! He vanished. I wanted more to drink, and I wanted food to go. Nadda. Oh, well. I was handed off to someone else to pay the tab, and then magically my waiter reappeared, all happy to see me. He wasn’t so giggly, however, with the 10% tip which he barely earned. Not even a wave goodbye, either. The menu is interesting and eclectic which sometimes suggest flavors muddle. My blackened tuna was cooked to order, but it didn’t keep inviting my taste buds back to the party. I cleaned the plate only because I was famished. I would’ve ordered more. .. well, you know the story. I’m tempted to try KF again but with Cabo a short trip to NoDa, not sure I’ll make the effort.

My husband and I came in this past Sunday after finding a local game shop didn’t open until later in the day, and boy were we surprised! I was skeptical because of the pictures online of the restaurant. The fish is amaze-balls. I had the Schezwan Salmon Tacos and my husband had the fish tacos with the pineapple salsa. They were amazing. He took home a pork roti as well(I didn’t get a bite of it because I’ve been fighting a cold), and man was I jealous! He put the roti in the oven for about 20 min and he said it was the better than the fish taco he had. We shall be back for sure! Oh, and they have a patio so you can bring your canine with you! Yay!

We went for brunch, husband had the salmon and I had steak and eggs. The salmon was awesome he ate it all. The steak was very flavorful, better than I have had at 5 church and other places, marinated in Apple and pear juice. The cheddar jalapeño grits were fantastic and a party in my mouth. Next time I will ask for some kind of sauce or salsa for the eggs the next time. I had a hurricane and a malgrenado to drink and they were SOOO good and strong. I passed out for 3 hours when I got home. Décor was on the tacky side but I will def go back!!!

Let’s get Kraaaazzzzy!!! Found off of Central past Plaza Midwood, Krazy Fish is truly a hidden gem and a hole in the wall– but it’s Krazy good! Instantly when you walk in you’re greeted by the smell of fresh seafood so be prepared to get a little fishy– however they do have two outdoor patios. I always opt for their tacos with the jalapeños grits. One thing I love about them-They stuff the tacos!!! They are huge! Plus, they always have delicious specials with my favs being the jalapeño grouper and the spicy pineapple Mahi. On the drinks end, they have $ 1 mystery beers and pretty cheap mixed drinks($ 5-$ 7). Overall, Krazy Fish is a great low-key place to try! If you’re ever bored just come and check out their krazy décor inside and outside on the front patio! It’s Krazzzzzy weird. Ps. Some of their tacos get a little«drippy» because of the marinade the fish is cooked in. I recommend putting your tacos on a napkin and draining your taco before eating it so the shell doesn’t break.

We saw them on diners drive in and dives and had to try it out. The bugogi beef tacos were incredible. The shrimp and grits were the best we have ever had. The gumbo was spot on and the chicken sandwich that my daughter had was perfect. We definitely will be back, and when you come here get the beef tacos they are a must.

The only good about this experience was the service. Dark hair female(Friday night). I love good service and this girl gave it. Not one complaint there. If this could spill over into your food, you’d have a winner. The food was overly salted and overly greasy. Shrimp and grits aren’t suppose to be a ladled level of grease. I could dig around in the grits and find some creamy parts. But I was not over impressed. We also has the mussels appetizer, the mussels didn’t taste fresh and with seafood, that’s a necessity for me. The sauce was good. And that dish stops there. I’m not sure I’ll go to Krazy Fish again, one time was enough.

This place is well deserving of 10 stars. Jason our server took exceptional care describing all of the specials in complete detail making each dish sound utterly amazing. It was a difficult choice but we settled on the Diablo and the Neptune platter. Everything was plentiful with bold vibrant flavors. Food Network even did a special on this unique hidden gem. Defiantly will be back to try the ice-cream and Gumbo, heck everything on the menu. A must try place if passing through Charlotte. Everyone there was friendly and takes pride and passion in the food and presentation. So much to say as words cannot describe how exceptional the selection is just read the menu and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Beware highly addictive fun place to eat drink and spoil yourself. Note to Owner — If you plan on expanding we want in…

Let me preface this by saying the Ceviche Hard Tacos that I ordered weren’t half bad. Though I’m a firm believer that hard taco shells should be reserved for late night trips to Taco Bell or for taco night at home with the kids, I applaud Krazy Fish’s decision to serve its Ceviche Taco in a hard shell, since ceviche is normally eaten with tortilla chips. The taco is a good idea, but could be executed better. The shell wasn’t made fresh and might even have been store bought and reheated. It tasted a little too done, just shy of burnt. The civeche was basically lime marinaded white fish; good, but nothing special. It was served with a creamy avacado/cilantro-based sauce which was quite nice. but I would have preferred some fresh avocado and cilantro in the taco. The plate cost just under $ 9 and came with two tacos and one side. I ordered Corn Maque Chou, which I often make at home during the summer when fresh corn is plentiful. What I got seemed more like canned corn with some chopped green bell pepper thrown in. I would have loved to try another taco, but I was told they don’t mix and match. The server told me I could order individual tacos for a little bit more, but considering each taco plate cost between $ 8 and $ 10, I figured $ 5 was too much to pay for a taco without knowing whether it was going to be any good or not. Overall, the food was good enough that I would be willing to return and try one of the other tacos on the menu. The Szechuan Salmon Tacos sounded interesting. My biggest beef was with the servers. I dropped in early on a Friday night, before the crowd arrived. I’m pretty sure I was one of maybe 5 customers in the entire restaurant. So all the servers were killing time before the rush. But they were having loud conversations about drinking and being hung over and throwing up… and these weren’t college kids, but adults.(I would assume by appearance, each was hovering around the late 30’s or 40’s) Now, Krazy Fish isn’t fine dining by any stretch, but I expect employees to act professional. even in a dive. If you are craving a fish taco in Charlotte, do yourself a favor and hit up the vastly superior Cabo Fish Taco in NoDa.

Incredible. Each dish better than the next. All of the dishes we ordered had strong West Indie inspiration. Very cool place with a great vibe. I highly recommend the Diablo. I have nothing but praise for this place. I will be back every time that I’m in Charlotte, I will conquer the menu!

Excellent Gumbo! Honestly I would just come back for that next time. However, we did try the Chips & Salsa sample… the salsa verde is the best! And neptune’s platter was good if you want all fried, the fried veggies were the best to me. And I got a combination of the grilled shrimp and ceviche tacos with Mac & cheese… didn’t finish anything but the grilled shrimp taco. But I am giving this place 4 stars for the GUMBO!!!

You can’t drive pass this place, the building design and features are artsy and unique. They really captured the essence of the name«Krazy Fish». The inside décor was hand splattered seats and benches with an assortment of colors and different fun objects hanging from the ceiling. I loved the artist approach, my daughter even stated it felt like she wasn’t in Charlotte. The food was just as interesting, I asked the server how the owners/cooks thought of the menu and specials bc they had a special«kimchi Mahi». He stated the owners loved Asian cuisine, seafood, Spanish, and Creole flavors so they had dishes inspired from what they experienced and enjoyed. I mean who doesn’t love kimchi and Korean beef Bulgogi ;p. Since I can eat Korean anytime I ordered the Cuban chicken with a combo of yummy tofu, two sides, etc. View my yummy pics :) Enjoy everything we ordered. I’ll definitely be back, especially since the great service was the icing on the cake.
