Lil’ Bite of Soul Restaurant

This is a new soul food spot on the west side. A local radio station, 103.3 WGIV, has been broadcasting live on Friday’s during breakfast, so I decided to give them a try. I visited on a Friday afternoon and had the place to myself. The owner was very sweet and gave me a quick tour… it’s very spacious with booth and bar seating, a bar and patio in the back (not open yet), and another smaller room for catered events (baby showers, etc).
On to the food… so I decided on the fried fish (Swai, similar to tilapia), mac n cheese, fried okra, potato salad and corn bread. The fish was excellent… the sides were just ok. The potato salad had too much of something, the okra could have been more crisp, and the mac was alright. I’ll give them a pass as the fish was very good… I’ll try a different set of sides on my next visit.
