You haven’t lived if you don’t go see Cliff! Been there since 1965,(still kinda feels that way inside too) guys got stories for days! I’m in my 30’s and often times there’s 5 people waiting, none of which are under 60. Great place, do yourself a favor, get there before he retires!

I won’t go anywhere else. I used to live really close to this place and it was my go to. I have since moved way out in Mint Hill and I still drive here because it’s honestly the best and most reliable haircut I’ve ever had. I don’t know how he does it but somehow in 20 minutes I’m completely cleaned up and looking like a million bucks. In the past I’ve always given my haircuts a week or so before I finally said, «ehh, no it looks ok.» But with Clifford’s haircut it comes out looking great right away. And that’s not even the best part. The best part is that somehow he uses magical powers to keep my haircut looking good as it grows out. I used to have to get my hair cut every month to avoid looking like a feral sheepdog, but somehow these hair cuts last two months. They actually look better as time goes on. It’s actually kind of bizarre. Clifford is the man! The ambiance of this place is great too. It’s like stepping into a time machine. It reminds me of going and getting haircuts with my dad when I was younger. If you want a fancy shmancy, la-dee-da experience go to a salon or something. If you want an honest haircut that you could set your watch to then come here. Like I said, I won’t go anywhere else.

Well, it’s been a while since my original review, and upon my experiences over my last several visits, I have to lower my rating of this place. My first cut at this barbershop was pretty good, but my last two or three were uneven and hastily done. If the cardinal sin of a barber shop is not keeping regular hours, then Morningside has a lot of repenting to do. In fact, I am writing this after returning from Morningside. Just a couple minutes ago(about 7:10a), I was outside of the shop and it was dark and locked. It should have been open at 6:45a. On a prior occasion, I went during business hours to find the place closed, and when I walked into the McDonald’s next door, I saw the barber hanging out eating and reading the paper. Anyway, I guess I won’t be going back.
