Boo. I teach a Saturday morning class at UNCC. I came by Outtakes around 12:30 thinking oh, I just need a little something to tide me over till I get home. Egads, I made the mistake of waiting in the sandwich line. Glacial doesn’t even begin to describe it. I can forgive mediocre deli food at a college mini mart but the wait was *absurd*. And of course there’s your usual mini-​mart markup.
Also lousy hours. 10:30 AM opening, and you sell breakfast items? I know it’s a Saturday but COME ON.

Maybe the employees have gotten better, or maybe I have grown more tolerant. Or maybe I’m just not in as big a hurry any more. Well, reading my old review, I have to admit that I haven’t seen 10+ person lines in a long time, so by an objective measurement there has been improvement. The sandwich counter is still far to slow (especially since you then have to wait again in the checkout line) but the rest of the store is more functional than it used to be.
My biggest complaint these days is the 8 am opening time. What’s the point in selling coffee if I can’t get it early? Fortunately the Starbucks next door has my fix.
