Going here after I was in a car accident was the biggest mistake I could have ever made. My back was feeling better seeing this Dr. but suddenly he released me from care because he said the insurance money had run out. This created a huge problem with my case against the driver who hit me from behind because apparently if there is any lapse in care for over 2 weeks no lawyer will help you at all. I had nowhere else to go when the Dr. at Proactive released me without notice. I came in one day and he said «well today is your last visit». They didn’t ask if I wanted to self pay or warn me of the legal problems I would experience that were associated with leaving treatment abruptly. The receptionist had initially told me when I started going that they were very flexible with rescheduling appointments but that was just a lie to get a patient in there. It turned out that the Dr. was apparently holding it against me every time I needed to change an appt. day or time due to work related travel I absolutely couldn’t help. When I left there I called my lawyer and he told me to go to a primary care physician and get a referral to a back specialist — however, he did not advise me that if this took longer than 2 weeks I would have no case. The back specialist my primary care Dr. referred me to could not fit me in quickly so I had to just suffer in pain for weeks while no one helped me or advised me properly of what to do and now I have thousands of dollars of medical bills the responsible party’s insurance is refusing to pay due to the lapse in care that all started with Proactive releasing me without notice. It really is deplorable that no one cares about the patient’s pain or work schedule. Taking time off work during the day to get to a Dr. appt. a few times a week is not easy, especially for a single mom and these people absolutely did not care.
