Providence Pediatrics

I highly recommend Dr. Plonk! I recently took my son for his 4 year old well-​check and Dr. Plonk was very thorough and knowledgable. He is extremely kind, attentive and made my little guy feel comfortable.
I feel confident he will be an amazing resource for us as he is extremely knowledgable in regards to Congenital Heart Defects. If you’re looking for a pediatrician that also specializes in special hearts… he’s the one!

I really love this practice. My son was 4 weeks early and my husband and I had not yet decided on a pediatrician when he was born. We decided on Providence because my husband’s co-​worker brings his kids there and told us they are open on Saturday and Sunday for sick patients (key in my book). When we were first released from the hospital my son had some really minor issues with being born early, but some issues nonetheless. Dr. Miller saw him on Thursday, she was really wonderful. Friday we saw another doctor, I can’t remember her name now, but she was also great. Then, on Saturday, we saw Dr. Moorman. He is an amazing doctor. He takes time to explain not just what is going on with your child, but why it’s happening. Finally. when asked what medical decisions he would make if it were his child (after the doctor speech) spoke from his heart and gave us real advice. He makes me comfortable as a parent, doesn’t make me feel dumb when I ask new mom questions and is great with my son. The staff up front is very helpful as well. The nurses are great. The after hours service and nurses that call back are also outstanding. I don’t know what else to say. If you are looking for a Pediatrician in the Ballantyne area, this is a great one!

Dr. Plonk is fabulous! Seriously, if you are on the hunt for a pediatrician, he is truly amazing. Providence Pediatrics has moved since we started going to them, but our loyalty to Dr. Plonk is unwavering and I drive past several other pediatrics offices to get there (which, admit idly is a pain)… but, his kind bedside manner and his trust in a «mother’s intuition», with his own dose of intuition has worked wonderfully for our family of three daughters.
He has called to check in on a very sick child, offering to work with our health care provider for in-​home nursing care if we got too overwhelmed– this all on a Saturday. He called every day for a week to check on her (and us). He has reassured a desperate mother that her unruly child was just «spirited» and «strong willed.»
His father was a country doctor and Dr. Plonk has that same genuine care and concern that I imagine (and have heard) that his father had.
Unfortunately, we have had some medical bumps along the way and Dr. Plonk has helped us navigate through these tough times.
Beth Haynes is also tremendous at this practice.
