Nestled in the wooded area alongside Harris Boulevard, a majestic station rises out of the trees. This monstrous oasis — dubbed the Texacoasis by some — currently offers the lowest gas prices in the area. What’s more, during the Great Charlotte Gas Crisis of 2008, they only briefly stopped pumping, and when we filled up over that period, we did so twice at this location, with only minimal wait times. It was really quite impressive. They also offer your standard convenience store at the facility, but I’ve never used it, and unlike many places that tend to run out of receipt paper to make you go inside and purchase something, I’ve never had to do it, so I can’t speak to the staff or services inside. But it looks nice from afar.
