I absolutely LOVED this painting class!!! Molly is such a great instructor, she is hilarious and very easy going. Me and my friends have gone to her class twice now and we def plan on going back! It’s really cool to be able to paint at a bar. Also Molly is a great teacher, she goes slow enough for you to keep up and she will come around and help if you need it. She does not judge and she gives great feedback for you paintings. She also offers coupons if you have gone to her class before it’s such a great price and a great evening activity to do with your friends. I love the pictures that she has. You should def go to a class with her, it is so worth it! And a ton of fun! And the. You have a pretty picture to take home too! A great girls night out activity or date night!

My wife and I went last night for the first time, and it was great! Just because something does not have reviews does not mean you should avoid it like the plague. The Createry has been up and running for about a year, and Molly is the owner. Which might explain why there aren’t many reviews, and also, people tend to complain more than compliment. Anyways, back to The Createry. Molly is the owner, and she did the session that we attended. She starts off with introducing herself and talks about the company/organization and then shows what the painting of the night is(which is on the Event Calendar). She also encourages you to go your own route, there are no limitations for creativity. You don’t even have to do what is being demonstrated. When walking through the painting, she shows what needs to be done instead of just telling you so that both types of learners can understand. When it comes to colors, once again, she does not care what you do because it is your painting. She is willing to offer advice if you need it, or help mix colors if you can’t quite get to it. She is very patient, but also fun to be around. The concept of having this in a restaurant is a wonderful thing, but can also get quite pricey if you are buying drinks and food when you add in the cost for attending the event itself(our total cost ended up being over $ 100 when we added in the cost for the Groupon). But, do not let that discourage you. The site is well laid out and the Event Calendar will show you the date, time, location, cost, and painting that will be there, and it is not hard to miss. Also, the FAQ lays out the rules and guidelines when it comes to not being able to make it to an event. Overall, great thing that we went! Plan to be there for longer than 2 hours, because your creativity may take you a different route. Also, I highly recommend getting a Groupon, Living Social deal, etc. because I’m sure you don’t want to justify why you can’t enjoy the night. Definite recommendation.

I have lived in several cities in the past few years including San Francisco, Dallas, and Grand Rapids. Painting events like these are usually my favorite activity to do with my friends when they come into town. I recently bought groupon for 2 people at the approx price of $ 35. I was scheduled to come on Sunday and the confirmation didn’t list the time of the painting event. I mixed up the time and arrived at the very end. I actually ended up walking in at the end. The owner and host, Molly, was there when I walked in and she was like«you were the two that didn’t show.» She made it seem like she would send me a voucher back for me to use at another time. I emailed her. And she sent me a voucher… However, it was only for 50% off. She wasn’t even clear through her communications with me that she was going to though this! She made it seem like i’d have the best voucher to share with all my friends & family!(Yeah, right!). I did end up telling her I wouldn’t come back in my last email. The very least she could offer was for me to come back(since I bought 2)… But, she didn’t. The main take-aways from me are the following: 1) I took a chance on coming to a painting event like this in a new city especially when there were no reviews and my experience was BAD! 2) When you look at Molly’s website you will see there are limited things you’d even want to paint… It took me awhile to even pick a date as a result 3) Molly did not provide the good customer service. She didn’t even bother to write me back when I told her I would not use her voucher Fellow Unilocalers, I would caution you to attend this event at the full or valued cost. When a place isn’t reviewed on Unilocal,it’s a red flag!
