The #universitywomenscenter in Charlotte is the worst doctors office I’ve ever been to. The staff is extremely rude and cold including the doctor. They made my first gyno trip in over 10 years very uncomfortable, instead of being empathetic and understanding. The first time I went to dr. Petok to get an exam done I was nervous and vulnerable and she asked me if my boyfriend and I were sexually active and I said yes and she said «well if you can have sex with your boyfriend without a problem, you can handle my tools, they’re a lot smaller.» REALLY? WHO SAYS THAT? Not only is that unprofessional but it’s extremely inappropriate! I would never ever recommend this facility. The only reason I continue to go here is because that’s the only place that my insurance covers unless I wanna drive all the way to hickory and who would want to drive an hour away for a 30 minute appt?

This is a hard practice to rate. Dr. Petok was great. She even proactively tested my thyroid levels and discovered my thyroid levels were slightly off. Unfortunately, I stopped going to this practice because Debbie the receptionist was extremely rude and went out of her way to be difficult. Recently, I reached out to the office and politely asked Debbie to provide me with the necessary release to have my records sent to a specialist and she refused to offer any options other than to have the form faxed to me despite the fact that I don’t have a fax. I don’t recommend putting yourself through such an unpleasant experience.
