UYE: Martini Night at Encore

Yes, for once, I was extra early to an event. Nice! That gave me time to catch up with some great Unilocalers and indulge in a few bites at Encore!
As Chad said, Encore really knows how to treat a guest right. The bar area is super cool and great for snagging a martini and a few apps. Best part it? Appetizers are half off from 5 – 7 pm and on Wednesdays, martinis are half off! That’s a match made in heaven. The tuna appetizer is one of my personal favorites… that wasabi cream/​dressing is certainly great for kicking your sinuses in the caboose.
Thanks for planning this UYE, Jimmy! I hope next time I’ll have more time to gab and indulge in a few more of those delicious martinis.

I actually showed early up to Encore because with the wife out of town, I had to prepare dinner for the kids and get a bite to eat prior to a movie. To my surprise, Nicole and Todd also showed up early since they were headed to the same show, so it was like we had our own little pre-​UYE.
Since I hadn’t had much chance to eat most of the day, I picked up a multiple items from the half-​price bar menu (dip, spring rolls, tuna) and a ginger ale — kept expertly filled by the lovely Alex — while we awaited Jimmy, who showed up somewhere near the starting time to sample the alcoholic offerings from the menu.
As always, the gracious hosts at Encore made it a place well worth the visit. The wasabi on the tuna cleared out the sinuses. Had Jimmy showed up on time (ahem), it would have been excellent all around. Looking forward to seeing them soonish for our next visit!
