Don’t know happened! This establishment is not located at the address given. And worse, no neighbors heard of them either. We were very disappointed since the reviews were stellar.

I could have sworn I already wrote this review, well I sure have been thinking about 22 Brix ever since I left Charlottesville. This has to be by far one of my favorite places I’ve visited while in Charlottesville. I normally stay at the Inn right across the street and remember seeing a sign for a wine bar. I went on my Unilocal app and was sure to bookmark it for my next visit. On a Friday afternoon I strolled into the wine room and was greeted by the fabulous Cynthia, owner and wine enthusiast. Cynthia’s family also owns the winery in VA. I love the idea of a remote wine bar, it’s an incredible way to enjoy some great local wine right in the center of the city. Being from out of town Cynthia and other patrons made me feel like I was right at home. I did a tasting of all the wines and stayed to chat with a delicious glass of their pinot noir. I obviously went home with a bottle and had the pleasure of enjoying this fine pinot again just the other night. The evening I stopped by they also had a book signing and I was thrilled to chat and get to know the author who wrote a book about the Jefferson Wine Trail. Yup I also go an autographed book to take home. I felt like I was just meant to be at this wine room the day I came in. The family running this place is just wonderful and Cynthia will make sure you feel welcome. If you are visiting Charlottesville be sure to bookmark this place and enjoy a glass of wine, it truly is a gem in walking distance to the Downtown Mall. I can’t wait to get back to Charlottesville and back to 22 Brix. *They have a fabulous front porch patio to relax and enjoy your wine.

This place is wonderful! Located right off the downtown mall(next to Bang!) — it is a great spot for relaxing and enjoying some excellent Virginia wines. If you get a bottle or glass of wine and hang out on the front porch, you can sit and watch the world go by or strike up a conversation with fellow wine lovers. The last time I was there I met a couple from London just moving to Charlottesville, two women in town from D.C. for a wedding, and a young couple out celebrating their first wedding anniversary. The wines from Ankida Ridge are truly spectacular — especially the Pinot Noir and the Chardonnay. If you like port style dessert wine — then you have to try the Rock Garden Vin Doux. They also feature a guest winery each month so you have the opportunity to try a wide variety of wines and learn about the growing Virginia wine industry.
