I know that giving 3 stars to Bodo’s is like rooting against the hometown team, but I think their service sucks. Bodo’s Bagels = fresh, hot yummy bagels, true, but EVERYTIME I come here, I tell myself I’m not coming back because the staff is rude, scary, mean, etc. Now I’m not quite sure why a part-time bagel counter college student clerk should intimidate me, but they do here for some reason. Is there some special way to order a Bodo’s bagel that I don’t know about? «I want an everything bagel with creamcheese»…to which I was questioned, what kind of cream cheese? Original, I say? Huh? Plain? Huh? I just want plain normal, white cream cheese! The next time… I order a turkey bagel with tomatoes, and some other fixins. The guy at the counter says you can’t order it that way… what do you mean I ask? He says that’s not an option. I say well you have tomatoes listed on the menu board… then he says ok well it will cost you extra then… I say fine, just put a tomato on my sandwich. Delicious food but what kind of parallel universe do I walk into when I feel like I have trouble ordering a bagel every single time I go there?

Not too much to say that hasn’t already been said. Bagels are made fresh daily/hourly, their pastrami is to die for, especially with lettuce, tomato, mayo, and my favorite breakfast combo is their sausage, egg and cheddar.

The best bagels in Virginia bar none. Great service, amazing sandwiches. Only downside is their limited number of bagels in selection.

Yum. Can’t find a good bagel in Williamsburg or Chicago now that I think about it. Glad a friend recommended Bodos. Got the everything bagel and it was soft and delicious!

People in Cville love their Bodo’s, and I used to think it was pretty great until I spent the summer in NYC and enjoyed real New York bagels. Even though I don’t think it lives up to the hype, their bagels still are delicious. I always order an everything bagel with egg, bacon, and cheddar. You can’t go wrong with this classic. This particular location is always packed full of people, but they get your food out to you in a reasonable time.

Frankly, everybody is going to Bodos whether I give a good review or not. It’s quintessential UVA; all my hangover mornings, parents weekends, and breakfast dates were here. Plus, it’s a tradition to snag the first receipt of the day at least once while you’re a student. But Bodos is still worth raving about. The line is often out the door but always goes very quickly. The bagels are fresh and warm,(but un-toasted). Best kept secret? The salads. They are HUGE and really tasty. Bodos is also one of the cheapest options in cville. I’d easily pay twice as much(but don’t tell them I said that). While you’re on the corner, you should hit up as many places as possible to be honest. I usually get my Bodos to go and eat it at Para/Grit Coffee down the street. Their chai is perfect. It’s a match made in heaven.

This place came highly recommended by a friend who grew up in Charlottesville. It was a great location so close to campus. Tried the pastrami on a salt bagel, and it was really tasty!

We were in town for a wedding and our friend who went to UVA informed us that we could absolutely not leave Charlottesville until we went to Bodo’s bagels. So off to Bodo’s bagels we went. Of course the parking was crazy and the line was out the door, but they move remarkable fast here. The staff on those old school cash registers really have everything down to a science. Went with a sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel that did not disappoint. I wish they had one of these in the Triad because I would pop in for many a breakfast sandwich. The egg is cooked on an actual grill none of that microwave business. If I am ever back in Charlottesville I know where I will be getting breakfast!

Didn’t really hit up Bodo’s until I was a third year in college but I’ve been hooked ever since! Bodo’s is the first place I visit every time I make the trip back to Charlottesville. My favorites are the cleo salad, chicken salad on onion bagel, egg, sausage and cheese on everything bagel and the honey butter pecan cream cheese! At about ~$ 5, you can get a nice breakfast and keep your college budget happy! It’s not the most filling lunch but you can always get 2 bagel sandwiches!

They don’t have capers for the lox/cream cheese bagel. Who doesn’t have capers? It’s not like they are expensive or like they go bad too soon to sell them. The bagel itself was fine. I think the building is an old Wendy’s Restaurant from the 80s. Not that it matters – it just is something I remember about the place. Oh, and they had like an icecream bar or something too.

Fun fact: did you know that they have lobster bisque? Another fun fact: did you know that it is amazing? Wow I was not expecting that. For $ 3.35 you get a really good size cup. But just don’t expect a huge amount of actual lobster. The bagels are by far my favorite. Sometimes though they do spread on too much cream cheese fyi. You can also create your own(whopping) sandwich for less than 10 $! Lastly, the service. They’re always patient and friendly no matter how long the line is. I have the utmost respect for them… have you ever seen a weekend morning Bodo’s rush? When you do you’ll understand.

Every UVA student’s favorite bagel/quick breakfast location for good reason. Bodo’s is the definition of sticking to one thing and doing that one thing extraordinarily well. The bagels are fresh and delicious, and the menu offers a vast variety of combos for bagel sandwiches and breakfast foods. My standard go-to is the lox & cream cheese on everything bagel with sprouts, though everything on the menu is superb(and not to mention, very well-priced, considering the bagels are very filling). The Corner location is usually(and unsurprisingly) very populated in the morning hours around the start of classes, but the staff serves all orders with remarkable efficiency and timeliness. Just make sure to listen out for your number! And as an added tip, in case you’re ever looking to get that coveted #1 ticket, always assume at some point or another that SOMEONE is gunning for that #1 ticket. If you’re looking to snag it, get there ATLEAST30 – 40 minutes before Bodo’s opens(at least for the Corner location). Trust me. This is coming from someone who waited outside the Corner Bodo’s for an hour in order to get the #1.

Must try! My bank account has taken a hit because of the amount of times I’ve been here. My usual for breakfast is either egg with ham or sausage on everything bagel. Instead of a slice of cheese, I substitute it with cream cheese. Some of my friends think it’s weird but it’s so good! For lunch or dinner, I would get turkey or the BLT with avocado on everything bagel. I’ve tried the majority of cream cheeses also and for the most part they are all good. Jalapeño cream cheese is good on everything. Sometimes I get honey pecan on cinnamon bagel.

In my 4 years at UVA I have spent hundreds at this very Bodo’s, and I have no regrets whatsoever. The bagels are, as they claim, «perfectly kettled,» with a firm, slightly glazed exterior and a soft, chewy interior. My go-to is an everything bagel with egg, ham, and swiss, which at $ 3.66 is the best meal you can get on the corner for that price. If you get a bagel with cream cheese, beware: they’re delicious, but messy.

I’ve eaten here more times than I can count and every time I do, I am content with the service, quality of food, and price. Short of a few items from their menu, I’ve tried everything. A few of my go-to choices are the everything bagel which has bits of garlic, salt, and everything else you could want in a perfect flavorful harmony. Their sweet honey pecan cream cheese and their lightly spicy jalapeño cream cheese is also tops and pairs well with the everything bagel. If you’re not feeling bagels their salads are good as well especially if you appreciate simple styles with hearty serving sizes. I’d recommend the Cleo salad and a soup if you’re avoiding carbs. Affordable, consistently delicious, and frequent friendly service? 5 stars for you, Bodo’s. Bravo.

I ordered Nova bagel. Was served a bagel w/slices of nova –___– Asked to have cream cheese, and rather than remaking it, the lady behind the counter handed me a side. What can you do? Friendly students who advised me to come here also said the coffee is the worst.

Bagel delight! Also a great UVA tradition to get the #1 ticket(order) for their freshest bagel of the day! All nighter the night beforehand and luckily, not too much competition but nabbed it successfully! And what a proud, early early morning achievement! Well known around UVA, and for good reason– the bagels are fresh, fresh, fresh and are well cooked– so tasty. Had a plain bagel with nothing on it, not cut and it was like heaven in a bagel! Especially cause it was still warm! Having said that, they do decent chicken salad(don’t be fooled, you need to add your salads! So add your tomato, cucumber etc!) and they have great flavoured cream cheeses– like the honey pecan and herb! Missing my bagels from Bodo’s! Number one thing I miss about Cville. Some favorites to try if you’re looking to mix it up: 1 — Pastrami, provolone, pesto 2 — Egg salad, ham, sprouts, cucumber, tomato, EZ pesto 3 — EZ Cream cheese(low fat even better), EZ butter, cinnamon sugar on an Everything bagel 4 — Cleo Salad with Caesar dressing 5 — Egg and ham breakfast bagel with tomato, cucumber, EZ mayo Fun Facts: 1 — Toasting takes too long and would slow down the super fast service you know and love. 2 — All bagels are mixed, cut, shaped, boiled, baked in house. Add-ins like blueberries or chocolate chips would gunk up the dough cutter/conveyor belt. That’s why they don’t offer those options. 3 — You can ask for colder/older bagels if you want a chewier/less hot option 4 — You can basically ask for anything. They aim to please! 5 — They are happy to fill up your water bottle

I ate breakfast at Bodo’s every morning when I was down in Charlottesville for a business trip. These bagels are exceedingly good and cheap to boot. I pretty much ate everything bagels all week; they could have used a little more salt, but they had great consistency and flavor(especially for bagels outside the NYC metro area). I had an egg bagel the first day and it had the perfect amount of egg, cheese, and sausage. However, it was the cream cheese that I enjoyed most of all– the herb cream cheese was green. It tasted more of dill than any other herbs, but it was realllllly good. I highly recommend that.
