For a chain restaurant, this is some of the best service I have ever had. We went on a Tuesday, and they had their deal going on where you pick a salad, an entrée, and a dessert for prices ranging from about 14 – 20 dollars or so. A pretty good deal! I got the caesar salad, the salmon(with lemon butter sauce), garlic mashed potatoes, and broccoli, cooked medium, and then the coconut pie. It was DELICIOUS. The salmon was cooked perfectly and everything else was great. My boyfriend got their bang bang shrimp and they were amazing, definitely not the healthiest choice, but still worth it. I would gladly come back here. The prices are amazing, their staff is beyond friendly(mine even boxed up my leftovers and decorated the box with a cute drawing of a fish), their manager is always around greeting everyone, and it was a nice clean and calm environment. Definitely coming back and hopefully soon!

Services here is okay and the food is decent. I’ll give this place another try, hopefully it’ll be a better experience.

I’ve been here twice. The first time was a good experience. The second time I made reservations for a birthday for my son. I had to add a couple of people to the reservation because more family wanted to come. The wait staff and the manager were obnoxious about the«inconvenience.» Growing up in the restaurant business and being a family that owned many, we could not believe how rude the staff was about our addition of a couple of chairs. You know what? We tipped well… Just because I know people can have an off night and for the«inconvenience.» I have never been back though. The food just is not that good to put up with staff attitudes. I don’t recommend taking groups. They are not that accommodating and seem to not be able to handle them well.

Our first time in boneless fish. Great foods and services. The waitress took care of us very well.

We love Bonefish! Last night, being too busy to sit for dinner we decided to order carry-out. Our hostess, Emily, who has always been so sweet and gracious took our order. I was so impressed since many times hostesses typically take an order with indifferent carelessness. Our food arrived exactly at the time Emily said we could expect it. Our order was exact and we appreciated the fact she went through the order to ensure it was correct. Thanks Bonefish you’ll be our go to for carry out also!

This was my first time experiencing a bonefish grill but I must say it was a great experience. My grandparents came with me and they are extremely picky with food and they loved it! Our waiters name was Dave and he was witty and very friendly. Very much a people person. He was prompt and answered all our questions. The food was amazing! Portion control was perfect. Not too much but not too little. I had the swordfish with pumpkin ravioli and green beans(it was a special) and it was the best meal I have had in a long time. Hands down. I would definitely return here. I cannot brag about the food enough. Great experience. Great atmosphere and great servers.

We dined just before 5 p.m., so service was fast, friendly, good. Got the fish soft tacos and the teriyaki bowl, both were decent, tasted fine, but no real excitement in the flavor and texture. The French fries were okay. Hey, it’s a chain restaurant, what do you expect? But, if you’re in the area, and you’re hungry, you could do a lot worse.

Very pleased with our food and service every time we go. I love the broiled trout, jasmine rice and house salad. We are regulars and it will stay that way.

Excellent menu. Was able to reserve a table by the window ahead of time. The hostess Emily knew exactly what she was doing and everything was going smoothly. And wearing Lilly, always a plus. Our server Tim was brand new, but was very thorough and attentive. Appetizers ordered were the Mussels, which were bland and not very soft, the fried calamari, which was crispy and tasty, and the lambchop sticks that were very chewy. The remaining food we ate was; house salad, two baskets of bread, a so-so fish and chips and a tilapia that was missing its«imperial» insides. The manager came over twice to make sure everything tasted great…

Service was good, but the food was mediocre. I used to eat at Bonefish up in northern VA and it was always good. But that was also years ago. Their bang bang shrimp didn’t have much bang, and the shrimp wasn’t even crunchy by the time it got to the table. And their ahi tuna was cooked longer than needed.

Very disappointed. Lobster tail brought out without butter. By the time butter arrived, lobster cold. It was replaced by a second attempt, but it was tough and overcooked. Should have stayed with the original cold lobster. Manager apologized, as did the waitress, but no comp of glass of wine or anything else offered.

Food was good, service was horrible. Wife caught a cab from the airport(we were stuck there for hours and no food options in the airport) to get food for us. She and our friend(another lady) asked the hostess, bartender, and the manager to call a taxi for them back to the airport. They were told that they were too busy and to look it up themselves(they were standing around talking to each other). We eat at Bonefish Grill restaurants all across the US when we travel… based on this experience I may have to rethink that. Seriously how difficult is it to call a taxi for two stranded women?

The waiter was true to his responsibility and knew what to recommend to each member of my dinner party. The seafood was amazing, my gfs spicy shrimp dish was awesome. But the best was the dessert. The CHOCOLATEBROWNIE W/ICE CREAM. If I died then and their it would read died at his BDay dinner fat and happy. Surrounded by people he cared about. RIPUSMC.

I love the Bonefish Grill, but this one wasn’t quite up to the standards of my favorite one in Secaucus. I had the Turbot which was a bit too mushy for my taste. The service was very good.

The worst seafood restaurant in Charlottesville. I grew up in Annapolis MD on the Chesapeake Bay and I know seafood. Of course this is Charlottesville and you take what you can get I suppose. I will not be coming back to this restaurant unless they make some serious changes. The restaurant is a chain owned by Bloomin Brands(Outback Steak House). I don’t really have a problem with chain restaurants as long as the food and service is good. I would prefer to keep my money local but somebody else got us a gift card for Bone Fish. The gift card could have also been used at Outback Steak House. I suggested that we go to Bonefish to try something new. Man that was a mistake! It was the Friday night before Valentines Day and the place was packed. There were six of us, two adults and four teenagers. We needed a few minutes to get our order right. The waiter came back twice during this time to see if we were ready. We ordered, fish, fish, fish tacos, burger, burger and fish and chips. The waiter made a point of making sure he knew who at the table was ordering what. I assume so everybody would get the correct order. Wrong! The two girls got each others burgers swapped. Not a big deal except that the waiter made a big deal out of it while taking the order. After taking our order the waiter finally asked us if we wanted bread. I had forgotten about the bread and thought to myself why didn’t you bring it out one of the three times you were here. Are there people saying no to bread? Enough to justify waiting to ask if we wanted bread? He came back close to ten minutes later saying that there was a delay on the bread and that it would be out soon. One of the salads comes so at least we got something. He comes out with two plates of bread and we think great bread finally! He sets down one plate of bread and then hurries off to set the other plate of bread down at another unhappy customers table. We all just stare at the bread and each other. This is the smallest piece of bread I have ever seen, cut into five pieces! There are six of us! The beginning of PortionGate! So out comes the plates. The waiter bragged about the fish and how it comes with two sides and really fresh fish. So my son and I order Tuna and Mahi Mahi with a side of mashed potatoes. We essentially ordered the same thing. They were plated on different plates his huge and mine really small. Both orders were the smallest pieces of fish I have ever seen. Mine was burnt his was fine. The mashed potatoes on both of our plates was about a small spoonful. The cous cous was even less. We finished within ten bites and were staring at everybody else eat for the rest of the meal. Next my Girlfriends fish tacos ;) these were again… the smallest tacos I have ever seen. There were three and the shells were literally the size of round nacho chips. She did not like the flavor but said they were not bad. One daughter got the fish and chips and these actually looked good and were smothered with chips and the plate looked over filled. Next and the most egregious was the burgers at the seafood restaurant. There was nothing wrong and in fact they were very good burgers… at the seafood restaurant! The meat was cooked the way we asked the plates were over flowing with fries and they were very tasty. I know they were tasty because the girls felt bad for the small portions my Son and I got so they offered some to us. All in all Bonefish Grill has great burgers and good fish and chips. So if you want to drop $ 100 at McDonald’s or Long John Silver go to Bonefish Grill. If you want a good experience and good seafood go anywhere else!

We have eaten here several times, as it is a favorite of the kids!(teenage kids) overall this is a mediocre seafood chain restaurant. Their sauces do not seem home-made with a few exceptions. The bernaise is especially awful! On a good note, the Bang Bang shrimp is delicious! My salmon(wood fire grilled) was cooked nicely although I felt it missed flavor and no outer wood fire grilled crust or pizazz! The rice was a glutinous ball of bland mush. My daughters filet mignon was good but the server said, as she put her dish on the table, could you take a bite of your steak please so I know if it’s cooked right before I leave your table!!! Who does that!?? That is the 2nd weird experience we have had with one of their servers! The lobster was tough(overcooked!) Their bread is delicious! The chocolate crème brûlée was very yummy but should have been named something else. Typically crème brûlée has a fire glazed sugar topping with egg custard base. This was much heavier much more like a mousse! Nevertheless it was very tasty! I would go back but my expectations are that I’m definitely in a chain restaurant that does middle of the road seafood!

Calamari was very good but the salmon was just Ok. Person next to me at the bar ordered something and it came out smelling real fishy. Chain restaurant. Service was good but average for a chain.

I have to give zero stars because I never got to eat the food! Walked in with my hubby Monday night and we were hit by the overwhelming stench of air freshener like walking into a gas station bathroom. It still stank when we were shown our table. There’s no way I can eat while smelling toxic chemical air fresheners so we had to leave. Whoops. I have to give at least one star to get this posted.

Bonefish Grill specializes in fresh fish and cooks their fish and other food over a wood-burning grill, hence the name of the restaurant. We chose to start off with an appetizer of Mussels Josephine, which are Prince Edward Island mussels sautéed with tomatoes, garlic, basil and lemon wine sauce. All the mussels were gone in 5 minutes and we finished every drop of the sauce with fresh bread. So good. For the main course, I chose the jumbo sea scallops and shrimp with a lemon butter sauce and a side of garlic whipped potatoes. I love me some sea scallops and these were prepared well, although nothing extraordinary. Another member of our party chose corn chowder with lump crab as a soup side dish and ordered that evening’s premier special: cobia. Two other people decided to share the Ocean Mixed Grill for Two, which is served with two salads, two sharing side dishes, and several seafood courses to share: Chilean sea bass topped with mango salsa, Norwegian Salmon with lemon butter, Wild Grouper with chimichurri sauce, and scallops and shrimp with Pan Asian sauce. The Ocean Mixed Grill for Two looks like a nice dish to share for two people, as you get to experience a range of various fish. Our waiter was very friendly and enthusiastic. Good service. For a chain, Bonefish is decent.
