CertaPro Painters of Charlottesville

I’ve used CertaPro three times, and the third time will definitely have been my last. They used to be very good, very conscientious and would send out a team of painters who were meticulous. The second time, the painting was pretty good and the owner even had the team come do another coat when we realized the sheen of the paint was a bit off (not their fault, but I appreciated the service). But they got the paint on the trim, which wasn’t being painted, and a little on the carpet and didn’t notice or touch that up.
Now, the company’s become too big and they’re hiring people who aren’t very good, and they’re sending out crews who aren’t capable of doing the work. Our walls needed drywall repair before they were painted, and the guys they sent didn’t know how to do it. They tried but it was awful. We had a 3-​day delay in getting the job done as a result. They also put dirty tarps down that coated everything in drywall dust. Specs of paint from the ceiling got on the walls as well, including walls that weren’t being painted, and they didn’t notice and didn’t touch up. We had to. Also, when lint from the roller was getting into the paint and therefore being applied on the wall, one of the painters gave me an attitude when I pointed it out.
We were left with a big, dusty mess, paint to touch up, leftover lint in the paint that they missed when sanding and redoing the coat, and a living room in disarray for over a week. The sales rep also misquoted the job and it cost more than it was supposed to. We never had these problems when Bill, the owner, himself quoted jobs. He sent the right crew and did proper estimates.
