Dr. charged me $ 726 for 30 minutes of face time.
Order of billing
1. $ 246 Dr. to show up and ask why I cant hear — 10 minutes
2. $ 260 to look in my throat with an old tool — topical drug applied 1 minute, doc came back in 30 minutes later and then looked for 10 minutes
3. $ 220 to scrape my ear of ear wax — 10 minutes (after number 1)
Apart from a simple wipe-​applied drug this dr. almost charged $ 250⁄10 minutes for labor.
I asked if there were any good products other than the bulb syringe, he knew of none. HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW OF ANY OTHER PRODUCTS WHEN IT’S YOUR FIELD OF WORK.
I did a google search and eventually found, «elephant ear» a product that gently cleans the ear. It worked better than what the doctor did and is reusable.
Thoughts:
Charge #2 reasonable. Remove charge #1 or #3 and this would be reasonable.
Overall: This place is ok if you like being overcharged 33% with a non-​memorable experience from a doctor who has no clue what tools exist in his field for the general public.
