Edible Arrangements

Someone ordered a Sweetheart Bouquet (chocolate dipped strawberries) for me, and it was delivered 2.5 hours later than they said it would be. Some of the strawberries were squishy and some were very pale. Additionally, all of the Arrangements for my delivery person were thrown in the trunk of a regular car, so all the fruit was room-​temperature and some had clearly been jostled around, because they were not packed in at all. A small concern also– the wrapping and box smelled very strongly of smoke/​hookah, as did the car, so either the drivers had been smoking or that was the smell of the car it travelled in.

FIRST IMPRESSION. This Edible Arrangements store covers a large area around Charlottesville. Because I had a particular request about delivery to a family member’s home, I placed my order by phone instead of online. The woman who took my order was friendly and efficient, and did a fairly good job of guiding me toward a gift for a particular occasion and a specific number of people.
I told the store that my relatives would be home to receive the delivery. They unexpectedly went out, though, and the store actually phoned me to ask what I wanted the driver to do. I appreciated that, as my relatives’ neighborhood is teeming with wildlife, and I did not want the local bear to wander away with a box of chocolate-​dipped bananas.
Ordinarily I don’t post first impressions, but I have dealt with two other Edible Arrangements stores and have had consistently nice, yummy experiences. The service at the Charlottesville store was great, and the gift very well received.
