Used orderup mobile — easy to use despite low stars. Saw driver arrived and left with my food with only 3 minute wait so that was great Steak and cheese sub was good — different but good — chopped steak — good flavor not too heavy on mayo — generous meat portion on larger sub. I would get it again. We split it four ways to compliment pizza Pizza was hot and good This is like the old sals pizza. Love the thin limp crust. Group of six with 4 teenagers(two chow hound males in the group) split three SMALL pizzas and the sub with no leftovers and had to force the last piece. Small pizza is PLENTY for a couple Sauce was sweet and delicious. Not overdone or salted. Crust was perfect. For the price for deliver — it’s our new choice.

Okay. I LOVEPIZZA. As I typed this just now it auto-corrected to I LIVEPIZZA which is actually, probably, even more accurate. Ask ANYONE that knows me. For real. This is a LONG review, and if you don’t LOVE pizza, it’s probably too long, but if pizza=life sounds like you, read on. I was born and raised in Northeast NJ just 20 minutes from NYC, so I KNOWGOODNYPIZZA. I was pretty much raised on it, and have been to literally hundreds of pizza joints in NYC/North Jersey over the last 50 years of my life. Pizza is my absolute favorite food hands down. I ADORE pizza. Now that that’s clear, having moved to VA from NY almost 20 years ago, I’ve tried MANY pizza places from NVA to Richmond, to VA Beach, to Charlottesville. 9 times out of 10 I’m dismally disappointed. Having just moved here to Cville from Fredericksburg less than a month ago, one of the first orders of business was finding a decent NY slice. Not to be snobby or anything like that, but when someone says, «Oh wow, so-and-so’s has awesome pizza», I usually try to be polite and hide my eye-rolling and mutter to myself under my breath, «Mmm hmm. I’ll be the judge of THAT.» Let me tell you what MAKESNY pizza NY pizza. The crust HAS to be thin. Not super thin mind you, but thin enough to fold in half and still stay straight on the bottom so you can eat it walking down the street(ya know… wawkin’ down da street like they do in New Yawk). It MUST have that elusive crunchy yet chewy texture that STAYS crunchy and chewy all the way to the very last bite of the very last piece. It MUST have real, gooey, stringy AMPLEREAL mozzarella cheese(«mootz a rell» for those in the know), and it MUST have great, homemade, not-too-sweet sauce. It needs a good authentic flavor and taste that really comes through in a plain slice. You can — and should — put some Parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes on it, but you have to be able to judge a good slice without too much of anything else on it. That’s the true test. So. The other day, I was feeling down. Worn out from moving in, missing my kids who had been here to help with the move but were now back home, and just plain hungry(more like hangry). My husband and I Unilocaled pizza, and I read LOTS of reviews. Some of the people who had reviewed Fabio’s sounded like kindred NY pizza spirits, and feeling a mixture of «Yeah, right, I’ll be the judge of good pizza» and giddily excited, we went. Ordered a whole pie, half mushroom(for hubby). WTF! Sorry. I’m actually a grown, feminine woman with very nice manners, but hey, this is pizza!!! imagine a NY guy walking down a street in Manhattan, taking a bite of the slice he just bought, and stopping dead in his tracks, and going, «WTF(but the whole expression… this is NYC), that’s some f#%*ing GREATPIZZA!!!» Yup. It’s true. I heard choruses of angels, trumpets, had flashbacks to my childhood on the corner at my local pizza joint, visions of favorite pizza places in NYC, the whole nine yards. I had to control myself to keep from standing up in the place and yelling, «WTF! That’s some f#%*ing GREATPIZZA!» The cheese is stringy and stretchy, the sauce is delish, the crust is PERFECT(that’s an INCREDIBLE compliment) and stayed crunchy AND chewy until the last bite of the last piece. OMG. I can live in Charlottesville now in pizza bliss. I cannot tell you how much finding Fabio’s means to me. My husband gets it, lol! If you LOVEPIZZA and if you actually LIVEPIZZA… GOTOFABIO’S. Now! It’s THATGOOD. Don’t forget the Parmesan cheese and a sprinkle of red pepper flakes and to fold your slice in half like a real New Yorker, and enjoy ANAUTHENTIC, AWESOMENEWYORKSLICE! Thinking of not going??? Fuggeddabouit!!!

Best steak sub around, we bring our own A-1 sauce as they don’t have it. I enjoy the Italian sub also along with the shoestring ff’s. I find the pizza to be pretty good, we usually eat in and I notice a lot of call-in orders going out. Most recent visit tried the lasagna, wasn’t too pleased with the results, probably would not order again. Overall we enjoyed this restaurant and will return soon.

Fabio’s is the best pizza place in C’ville by far. Christian’s lovers have no idea what they are talking about. I lived in NYC for a year. Think Ray’s. Fabio’s is the closest we can get down here. I eat at Fabio’s once a week. Mediterranean salad is a good starter, followed by two slices. It’s the usual deal. Too much grease, so you lay down the napkins. Then sprinkle on the Parmesan. Perfect!

Fabio’s at least does the crust properly and the toppings are very good. It’s better than any pizza I’ve had in Richmond and most pizza in DC. The salad and hot subs fully meet expectations, put up against what I’d get back home. The more complicated/less traditional menu items are sometimes hit or miss, but it’s a pizzeria… so go for the pizza. It’s a cute joint if you want somewhere to grab a quick slice for lunch or dinner in lieu of delivery, too.

Horrible food. I had a bad experience the other time I ate here but decided to give them another try. I ordered the gyro pita with fries and it tasted nothing like a gyro. It only had one thin sliver of prepackaged gyro meat substitute. My mouth is filled with grease. I usually go to Tip Top that actually have real gyros. What a bad decision on my part. Tip Top I will be back. Fabio’s is disgusting. I’m still hungry. Don’t see how this place is still in business. Will not be returning.

Got a pizza for take out here based on the reviews and it was incredibly disappointing. Wasn’t impressed by the crust, the sauce lacked flavor and the cheese tasted… like cheap cheese. Won’t be going back!

One of the best pizza places in c’ville. Cozy and casual atmosphere. I thought that the service was friendly whenever I went. Food and portion sizes are great! You really get yours money’s worth! Pizza slices are huge! Love the lunch combos they have! Being the meatball snob that I am, I don’t just eat meatballs any where but decided to give their meatball sub a try and wow was it good! They weren’t the frozen kind and the meat used was of higher quality. Better than other places I have tried in town that claim that their’s are«homemade». I can tell the difference! LOL I would highly recommend coming here for a good cheap and quick lunch!!!

I love their sandwiches… Fantastic and filled with yum. Their pizza has not been my favorite, but that is just a matter of taste. I expect many others will love it. Friendly, very casual, easy and quick. One of my favorite casual spots to eat.

Has Fabio’s changed its pizza? Got two last night — and they were lousy! Both in taste and in how they were made. The toppings were scant — hardly there at all — and they were UNDER the cheese. And the cheese was poor, too. Bland in taste and texture. Only the crust was as I remember it. Fabio’s pizzas have always been on my short list of reliable, quick, and inexpensive take-out for casual occasions. Not gourmet pizza, but always popular and appreciated. I hope that last night’s were a fluke. If they’re the new normal there, I’d lower my rating to one star.

After moving to this side of cville I discovered fabios. I ordered a few specialty pizzas the day we moved in and it was amazing. I figured we were probably just extra hungry from moving and it would never be the same again, but I was wrong. Their pizzas, garlic knots, and eggplant parm sub never fails to impress me. I love the sauce and everything tastes fresh.

This was a great pizza — had the medium deluxe, cooked just right, crispy, regular thickness of crust, not too much crust, I hate too much crust. Toppings are generous, a well covered pizza. I don’t give a score higher than a four as I need to try out the salads and other offerings.

Was not impressed with the stuffed crust pizza. I was expecting the crust to be stuffed with cheese but it was basically a pizza pie covered like a giant calzone. The ingredients tasted fresh but lacked flavor.

This place is amazing. It’s a dead ringer for the pizza places I ate at in New Jersey as a kid. Reasonable prices too. If you love pizza or cheesesteak and haven’t been here, you’re screwing up.
