Kiddie Academy of Charlottesville

Safe place to keep ur kids in. There is one or more video camera in each class, where you can check on your child at anytime (only the parents of the child can access these cameras). I feel that my kids are in safe hands there. Mrs. Pam is very helpful when have a concern she address it very carefully. Also all the teachers are very nice.

As a father, security is a big concern of mine. This place has one of the most secure facilities I’ve seen. The online web cameras are a nice feature so you can see your little one during the day. The teachers always cared for my kids and now that they are older, they fondly remember them. It is true they have a high turnover. I knew a few teachers that were fired for unknown reasons. I think it has to do with the ownership/​management style more than anything. One thing was always clear was my kids felt safe and were well cared for. I highly recommend them.

I don’t know why my review ins’t a «recommended» one by Unilocal,so I am posting it again in hopes that it is seen by other parents. I was so nervous about switching my children to a new daycare, but i am SO thankful that I picked Kiddie Academy. I would like to help other parents who may be trying to decide on a daycare center for their children.
We really love Kiddie Academy. The teachers are wonderful. My children love them. They all clearly care about my children and take wonderful care of them. Even the teachers from other classrooms know my children by name and say hi to them as we walk by.
They are learning so much more than they did at their last daycare location. They have educational activities, crafts, free play, music class, story time, etc every day. There is usually some type of theme for the week (underwater animals, gardening, career week, different colors, letter of the week, etc) and my children love to ask «what day it is today at school» every morning.
I am very impressed with the new menu and love that breakfast, lunch and two snacks are included.
One of my favorite things is the online webcams so I can check on my children throughout the day. I don’t feel like I am missing out on them quite as much while I am at work because I can see what they are doing throughout the day.
The facilities are clean and well organized. The outdoor play area is wonderful.
I am so very thankful my children are at Kiddie Academy.

Pro: Clean facility, Large Space, New/​Opened in 2013
Con: Inexperienced teachers, High Turnover, Lots of teachers are part-​time which makes communication difficult. Instead of telling one teacher, you have to tell all 7 – 8 ppl that are coming in and out of the one classroom.
Lack of consistent routine.
Conflict of Interest — several teachers have their own children in the class. Hmm… which child do you think they are caring for?
