I work for a publisher and we fired Magazine City because of their shady shenanigans. You are ALWAYS better off ordering directly through the publisher than one of these agents. You are guaranteed better customer service, for one, and sometimes, a better rate. Find the magazine’s website and click subscribe or order from an insert card inside the magazine if you have access to a copy.,

This company should be shut down. They are a total scam. I do not know how they keep selling subscriptions without producing anything. Bought a subscription in September 2013. Tried calling, left voice mail. Tried emailing several times with no response. Does anyone know how to make a formal complaint? Maybe if enough of us who have been ripped off complain we can this company shut down.

I ordered a magazine from these guys(The New Magazine City) in January. Credit card charged immediately. 10 – 12 weeks passed — no magazine. In fact, I subsequently found out from the magazine that they took 4MONTHS to pay the magazine and send in my subscription. All the time, I was promised and assured I would get THENEXTISSUE. The actual magazine subscription was the only one who told me the truth. Just called them again, they told me I wouldn’t get an issue til SEPTEMBER. Uhhh… that’s over 6MONTHS. 24+ weeks. The last time I called in 434−817−1800(Newmagazinecity.com’s local #), I was told I could have a free magazine for my troubles. I’m not holding my breath. The magazine, upon hearing my troubles, offered to send out my mag earlier than normal. NOSATISFACTION from the company I ordered from. I’ve done 3rd party subscriptions before. NEVER had an experience this terrible.

This company is part of New Magazine City, check out google search for complaints. The Richmond VABBB has them with an F rating and 874 complaints in last 3 years of people with issues. My wife ordered a subscription from them for a gift a couple weeks before Christmas, I still have not gotten the magazine. Attempts to reach them by voicemail and online through their site went with no response. I finally got a good phone number and a woman apologizing that I would get a refund as they no longer are able to carry that magazine. Here we are several weeks later with no refund. Thousands of people are ripped off by these scammers, be careful.
