The dumplings were delicious… We also got peanut butter noodles(not sure of the proper name as I didn’t do the ordering) for the little one. He loved them! Definitely a go to place for something quick.

This place is the very definition of «hole in the wall.» But don’t let that fool you. This place has THEBESTDUMPLINGS, period. The noodles are good too, but the real prize here are the dumplings. Delightfully filled with a savory middle, with a crispy, slightly chewy, perfectly flash-fried wrapper, I dare you to just have one order(I usually get two, sometimes three!) And then you add how incredibly cheap this place is, and you have a real winner here. I live in Washington DC, and whenever I get down to Charlottesville, there is no doubt that I find a way to visit this place. Cheap, easy, delicious. What more do you need?

I’ll be honest and say that with a name like Marco & Luca, I was expecting this to be more of an Italian noodle shop. Not that I’m disappointed, just surprised. We split a small bowl of their sesame noodles which are served cold(more like a noodle salad) w/peanut sauce and julienned cucumbers. It was quite tasty and was only $ 3.50. Nothing outrageous but tasty and affordable. Definitely A-OK.

This place is all about the dumplings. Over the course of the years I have had other things, like the vegetable or pork bun, the noodles… I always go back to the dumplings. The menu is simple, only 5 or so items, and drinks are only bottled in the cooler case. I wish they had some less-sweet options, but like I said, it is all about the dumplings. Also of note-No credit cards are accepted. There is an ATM nearby, or they will take a check.

Hey, great little dumpling shop! These guys do it just right: a simple menu; good food; great prices; quick service. Every city needs places like these! About the food. The sesame noodles were okay. More peanut-y then anything, but certainly not offensive. The pork buns are solid, and of course, the dumplings are quite good. Comment: Would love to see a steamed version of the dumplings. The only negative feedback: they gotta figure a better way to deliver those dumplings. Every order comes in a styrofoam container. Yikes! Otherwise, a great little shop. A must-stop-by if in C’ville.

When I first moved to Charlottesville, everyone kept talking about the dumpling shop on the downtown mall and about how the dumplings were so amazing you’d want to keep eating and eating. After two trips there, I can safely say this is true. First of all, they’re super cheap, which is fantastic on my new grad school budget. $ 3 for 6 – 7 dumplings… although I wouldn’t be opposed to them being larger, they’re pretty much standard dumpling size. And there’s something about the sauce… the right mixture of tangy, spicy, and something else that has me ordering two helpings every time I go. Definitely going to remain a staple in my Cville repertoire

One of my favorite places on the Downtown Mall. Their dumplings and sesame noodles are incredibly cheap and incredibly good.

A small, unassuming noodle shop tucked along side a row of other restaurants & stores in old downtown Charlottesville. They have a miniscule menu which essentially consists of hot pork bun, vegetable bun, hot & sour soup, sesame noodles and dumplings. Prices for these can’t be beat, which ranges from $ 1.50 soup(a wee bit salty but generous portions of tofu) to the $ 3.00 noodles or 6 piece dumplings(my friend swears by these.) Seems like a decent place to grab a cheap bite and catch up on some reading.
