Paragon Day Spa

Today I went in for a facial that was a gift from my mother. I had only ever had a massage at Paragon, which I enjoyed a lot. I was quite nervous for my facial as someone who suffers from acne. However Jessi made me feel completely at ease. She helped me understand what was wrong with my skin and she thoroughly explained each procedure she was doing. The room was a comfortable temperature and came with low lighting and relaxing music. I had a great experience and will definitely be back!

I went in yesterday for a modified Brazilian bikini wax. I was greeted by the receptionist who confirmed my appointment, offered me something to drink, and explained Stacy would be right with me. Stacy was warm, professional, and gentle, which is something I appreciate having this kind of wax. Stacy kept the conversation light and made me feel at ease. At checkout I was offered a discount which is always welcomed. If my business travels bring me back to the area and I’m needing wax service, I’ll definitely come back. Thanks again Stacy!

This place is not at all relaxing or spa like. I was visiting the area and had a massage by Rose that was the worst I have ever had in my life. I was wondering if it was some kind of practical joke– she was that bad. Completely disengaged from what she was doing, rude, and so not gifted in this art. The entire staff acted like it was an imposition to care for anyone. Awful experience. I was never so happy to see a massage end and I ran out.

My experience getting a brow wax and brow tint today was wonderful. The spa facility is neat, comfortable, and smells nice. Jessi was friendly and did a great job. Also, she let me know about a price special that I wasn’t aware of and wouldn’t have claimed without her telling me. I will definitely be back!

Went today for the first time for a massage and left relaxed. The staff was very friendly. I will definitely return.

I went in for a facial, and Suzette was amazing… Had me falling asleep. Very clean and everyone there was very nice. Would definitely go again.

I’m new to Charlottesville and went to Paragon for a mani — pedi and waxing. For quality of service — 5 stars but lIke Chloe I had an odd interaction with their customer service… and we’ll give that 1 star for an average of 3 starts. The salon is well organized and relaxing (although the chair massage was so noisy and squeaky that I turned it off). The waxing by Jessie was great, liked her a lot and Ashley did a great job on my nails as well. I recommend them both. They use Zoya, an eco friendly nail polish, which was a nice change for me.
But although I had gone in for a spa mani and pedi, I noticed that I didn’t receive the paraffin treatment on my hands. Since it was my first time at the salon I thought maybe I’d ordered the wrong service or it was accidentally skipped. But when I paid, the charge seemed high given that I’d only received paraffin on my feet, so I asked the receptionist about it. I was told that because I was late, there wasn’t sufficient time to perform the paraffin service on my hands and that their policy is to charge for the services ordered!
Um…excuse me but I phoned 20 minutes before the appointment to let the salon know that I would be a little late and was told, «Fine, no problem.» I ended up being just 10 minutes late. I was not informed of their late policy when I made the appointment, nor was I informed when I phoned prior to the appointment. (And frankly, I am usually very good about being on time. But coming from LA, where traffic makes everyone late all of the time, I’ve never heard of a policy like this before!)
I told them that no one had informed me of the salon policy and that I felt that they needed to inform their customers of the policy when appointments are made. To their credit, they thanked me for the feedback and adjusted the bill.
Keep the policy in mind when you book and you’ll have a great experience.

I will second the recommendation for Jessie; she was extremely professional and quick during my first full Brazilian wax, and had me feeling comfortable almost immediately. Great to talk to, nice ambiance, superb service! I will go back to her again and again!

I’ve only been here for waxes, but Jessie is the best waxer ever. I highly recommend her as she is the best in Charlottesville. I’ve never had any other services done here, but the place seems like a nice, relaxing place.
