The only such place I know of in town. Nostalgic for me due to my honeymoon being in Turkey! Great for lunch. Super friendly people who have gone out of the way to help me several times. Impacted badly by the nearby construction. Please support and help keep it open!

Had lunch a week ago and it wasn’t good like the other times. Chicken kabobs/rice had an odd flavor that was unappealing and the chicken texture was kinda rubbery and there was a fair amount of gristle. Salad/hummus/bread were ok though. This lunch was 2 star, but I’ll leave three since it was the only bad one I’ve had.

This place is awesome. Real authentic Turkish cuisine. The donor is actual pressed meat and not processed gyro meat. Came from DC wad definitely worth the drive.

My SweetiePie(who is part Turkish by-the-way) had already checked this place out before we went on a Friday Night Date! Kabobs When eating at a Kebop House with«Kebab» is in the name we could order Pizza(Pideler) …We ordered Lamb and Koffta Kebobs… Both were Very Good! I enjoyed the Lamb for and my little Honey enjoyed the Kafta Kebab more so that worked out nicely Salad with Pomegranate Molasses Dressing and Red Onion with Sumac Bread Delicious Apple Tea Very Nice! Very Enjoyable(available in a Canister to make yourself at home) Pomegranate Tea Good not Great, glade I tried it Spicy Sausage Casserole Glad we tried this Sausage, Cheese and Tomato Dish… It was Good though I would not need to get it again Lentil Soup Good with some Potatoes Turkish Coffee As Dessert As powerful as a Tranquilizer Dart in a PolarBear(I’m the PolarBear) It’s still Legal! This does something with my Body and Brain that I can not understand! Made between Sweet and Very Sweet(requested to be Very Sweet) they did a Good Job for my first time here… I really like it sweet! This is how I imagine most Good Turkish Coffee, with little or no spice

This place may be a bit difficult to find but it is so worth it! It is a super cozy, intimate space with inexpensive but amazing food. On my most recent visit, my boyfriend and I got the hot pomegranate tea and some apricot juice to start. This tea is amazing! I would definitely recommend this or the hot apple tea. For appetizers I got the dolma and he had the hummus casserole which he loved. The dolma were delicious and a perfect portion for an appetizer. I did not try the casserole but the bread that came along with it was super good. I got the vegan platter and he had the lamb kebab platter. Everything was perfectly seasoned and satisfying without being heavy. Both were very large portions, I left completely full and still had some to take home. Definitely recommend!

The food was quite good and the atmosphere was pleasant. The meat portions were a little disappointing. We especially enjoyed the Turkish pop music videos on their TV.

Great food prepared with care. We had Iskender, Doner, Chicken Shish, and Baba Ganoush and it was all fabulous. Talked with the owner and he is a great guy, came over from Turkey after graduating from culinary school there, did an internship and then opened the restaurant. He is a US citizen now and runs a great restaurant. The American Dream…

Glad this exists in Cville! Kinda pricey for the portion size. I got the lamb kebab, which came with about 5 small chunks of meat. The meal combination is great though — everything’s fresh, including salad and hummus, and the bread is a good filler. The meat was tasty and tender. I also polished off the fluffy rice, yum.

Pleasantly surprised with this place. Delicious food that is vibrantly flavored. Ordered the eskender and mixed grill on a Monday night and it was spot on. Extremely tender meats. Just wish the portions were bigger!

I end up here when I’m looking for something else, and always love it. It’s a hidden gem I never think of because of its weird location. Salads taste great, meats well spiced. The people are super nice. Love the baklava too.

Sultan Kebab is A-OK. Friends and I stopped over on the way back from the Blue Ridge Mountains to DC. We wanted something quick but delicious. All in all, the food was fresh and loved the ambiance of the place. However, the food was nothing special. The standouts were actually the salad, tabbouleh, white bean salad, and hummus sides that came with our meals. The lamb kebab was dry and the adana was a bit flavorless(not enough spice). The shrimp pita sandwich was a HUGE disappointment. Don’t order this. I was expecting sauteed shrimp in spices, but it was all mixed up in cheese and had a strange texture. It was yuck. One half of my pita didn’t even have shrimp in it.

Visited this restaurant last week with a friend, and I was not very impressed. I have had Turkish food at a variety of restaurants, and this one was not nearly as good as my previous experiences. The food is relatively cheap, and you can eat for under 10 $ and the portions are big enough to be satisfied, but the flavor itself was laking. Service was also average, even at a time when the restaurant was not very full. Overall, the food is just average, but very well priced.

Simple but delicious food — including amazing homemade pita bread that beats anything you’ve ever bought from a store — combined with warm, friendly service on our recent visit. Everything we had was quite tasty, and we’ll definitely be coming back.

Great little Turkish gem. I always experiment with the food and end up being pleasantly surprised with the flavor and quantity of food. The platters come with meat(veg or seafood also) rice, salad, hummus, bread. Kitchen is fast and waiters were attentive. Would definitely come back.

Sultan Kebab is off of 29, a bit further from UVA than most restaurants. My friend and I arrived on a weekday and there were more people than we expected, alot of the tables were full! There seems to be only one server, but he was still good about asking us for our orders pretty quickly. We ordered the lamb kebab and beef kebab, which both come with rice, salad, hummus, and bread. It’s definitely a good amount for the price($ 10 – 12), and I like that there’s a lot of variety on each plate. The food itself was typical kebabs, nothing super special to be honest, but still good! Overall, I’d probably not come here again if I was craving kebabs, just because it’s kind of out of the way.

Really good Turkish food. Went with a party of 5 for lunch. I ordered the vegetarian platter. The vegetarian plate has tabbouleh, plain hummus, baba ghanoush, Aegean salad, bean salad, dolma, rice and homemade pita bread. It all was very good. The other people in our party all had meat dishes which they all said was very good. The service was good but the wait staff could have been a little friendlier.
