A-1 Garage Door Repair Systems of Michigan

Called A-​1 when I received a coupon in the mail for $ 49 off service. Tech Brad said I needed new cables since my door was not sitting straight on the garage floor. Upon replacing the cables, no better. He then did some adjustments to the springs which seemed to resolve the issue. $ 189. Upon looking at the cables it was clear that they were far from worn. Of the many wire strands that are wound together to form the cable about 3 were broken, about 3% in my mind. Had them replaced two years prior. Okay, fine. Two days later the door began making s horrible screeching sound. Called A-​1 early Monday morning asking for someone to come out that day since I was afraid to lower the door. I was told that on warranty work the tech had 24 hours to contact me and 72 hours to see me. I said this wasn’t good service and that I couldn’t leave my door open over night and was afraid to close it. Called again later that day, same story. Said I would be posting the poor service on Unilocal and Angies List. Brad called me and did finally appear that day. I would never call them again. Beware. $ 49 off isn’t really a bargain.
