OMGOMGOMGOMG!!! Thank you Unilocal! My friend and I were over at Rayz on Groesbeck and were looking for some carry out to take back to her place after a long day of holiday fun… I pulled up Unilocal on my phone and Voila! It led us to this absolute gem of garlicky greatness!!! We ordered the chicken schwarma platter with rice, the lentil soup, and an order of hummus. Good Lord I can’t tell you how damn effing good this stuff is! Everything, sooo good! the garlic sauce was on point, the chicken was moist and flavorful, and the puffy bread was just so soft and warm and amazing. The hummus, perfect!!! I swear my mouth is watering just thinking about it. There was plenty for both of us, plus leftovers and I think the tab may have been $ 20… It’s places like this that make me think of moving, just to be in their delivery area! I would venture to say most of their business is carryout, but there are seats inside, and they boast a buffet on Sundays. /Schwarma!

Holy cow this place is good. Their garlic dip and their bread is so good! And that’s just the start. The schwarma is fantastic! Eat it!

Everything has been the staple I expect when ordering, and it’s one of the only places within miles that has fresh bread. I end up back almost weekly.

I always develop some level of suspicion when I walk into a restaurant at what is ostensibly prime time, and I’m the only patron. Such was the case the other night at subject. But, I’ve since learned that they roll up the sidewalks at 6:00 pm in Clinton Township(I was a patron at about 8:00 p.m.). Especially when it’s 2 degrees outside. This establishment received stellar Unilocal reviews, and the manager of the Hotel at which I stayed favors it, so I gave it a whirl. I will never begrudge a small business owner the fact that his establishment fails the Metropolitan Home design test. I will say that this place could use a little work-split upholstery in the booths, stained ceiling tiles, unbussed tables. The food was mostly excellent– the bread and tahini was superb, and the lentil soup was fantastic. The Debond Chicken, which the super friendly hostess suggested and I went with against my better judgment, was really flavorful and ridiculously plentiful, but parts of it were under cooked. And the rice that accompanied the chicken was a bit on the bland side. All in all, a three star experience. I will try it again on my next trip, and I’ll try the shwarma.

It’s times like these that I really wish Unilocal!offered the ability to rate in half stars because this place is more along the lines of three and a half for me. The food was decent, but it also had a few short comings. Overall it is your typical Lebanese/Middle Eastern joint and nothing jumped off the plate that gave it that«wow factor» for me. While it is nice to see a business so highly rated on here, I question these two things; 1) Have these other reviewers dined at similar places in the Metro Detroit area such as La Saj, Saraha, La Marsa, etc. to compare options? 2) The validity of some of these reviews as a few look fabricated. Now for the record, I wasn’t the only one who thought some of them look questionable as others mentioned the same thing to me. I truly hope that is not the case though. As for the food, the Shish Tawook Lemon Oregano had great flavor and most importantly was moist and tender — I was able to cut the pieces in half with my fork. I opted for the Chicken Lemon Rice Soup instead of a Salad and while it was okay it lacked any essence of lemon. It’s essentially just chicken and rice soup. This was a bit of a disappointment as I was really looking forward to that bright pop of lemon you’d be expecting. The rice that came with my entrée was your everyday ordinary rice pilaf which was a little bland, but mixing in the lemon oregano sauce from the chicken made it so much better. Their garlic sauce had that nice sharpness you want it to have(well at least what I want it to have) which is good, but everyone raves about how unique their«puffy» bread is which takes me back to the two things I questioned earlier. There are many places that offer this same style of bread and do it a lot better too. My biggest gripe which is one of the main reasons why I lowering my rating was the service. While the lady who waited on our table was nice and friendly, she totally neglected us the entire time. Basically she took our order, delivered our food, and then never came back until she was ready to give us the bill. Our water glasses stayed visibly empty and at the edge of our table a good 80% of the time we were there. Not once did we ever get a refill. For me this is a HUGE no-no as I firmly believe your glass should never be completely empty unless you yourself turned away a refill. If the place was packed and she was juggling a large number of tables then I would check this off as a simple oversight, but besides us and one other table, the place was empty. I even attempted to flag her down multiple times to request more water, but it was as if she had blinders on and didn’t see me. That neglect alone drops my rating from five to four. Couple that with a few gripes about the food(which is why I wish I could rate by half stars) takes me down to three. Don’t get me wrong, I am in no way trying to bash this place or discourage others from going as I too will be back to give it another shot. I am just stating my opinions on a few things and hope my next experience will be better.

Excellent middle eastern food! My family was looking for a new restaurant to try and came across the reviews for Kabob Castle and decided to try it. When we pulled up the restaurant was empty and the décor was less than desirable. We almost didn’t eat here but we’re so glad we did! We ordered the dinner for 3 and a carrot smoothie. We fed 4 of us and brought half of the food home as leftovers for only $ 38. Everything was fresh, bread was warm, excellent flavor, and overall delicious. Service was great too. We will be back.

I have grown to really like this place. The food has always been excellent. I’m a huge fan of their chicken shawarma entrée. The chicken is very juicy and flavorful. Their garlic paste isn’t as strong as I’d like, but I’m growing to enjoy that as well. I usually eat here at least once a week. The trick here is the service. To their credit, they have been trying to hire more. Sometimes the service is stellar, other times it’s very lack luster. I almost always see the owner/cook out talking to people. He seems genuinely concerned with how they are enjoying their food and experience. That is the reason I keep coming back. The interior otherwise is dated, but I don’t really care about that at all. I come here for the food :) There hours are quite good, they’re open until 9 or later. They do offer lunch delivery, but I haven’t tried that. I prefer to dine in. Also, they are offering a buffet on Sundays now, but I have yet to try it. All in all, this is the best I have near me. The other place I’m a huge fan of is down on Gratiot and 8.5 mile. Not that it’s all that far, but I’m lazy and I love the shorter drive :)

I found this place with a coupon offer 2015 Summer. WOWWOWWOW! The chef/owner is VERY kind, helpful and giving. Their puffy bread, lamb chili, dark green salads YUM. Salad dressing is total awesomeness. Please don’t go here, I love it not being packed out Wait staff excellent. Fresh and very well seasoned dishes. The only thing I didn’t like too well m, their beef schwarma. Best sautéed veggies. Fries are okay. They serve Pepsi products but have cans of Coke for you to order. Music at times is a bit too loud but their good food and prices bring me back. In the summer, bring a jacket. It’s kind of cold. But the owner will adjust anything to make his customers happy and return. Order flower arrangement next door. She is a nice very helpful lady.

Delicious food at Kabob Kastle! Have been twice. Ali, the owner is very friendly. The gryo meat is tender, the kabobs are seasoned just right, and the deboned chicken is excellent. The homemade bread & garlic spread is abundant and amazing. You sure get A LOT for your money. The only thing negative is the old pine walls. That’s not much.

The service was stellar. Our waitress, Nirvana, was very friendly and went above and beyond for us. The food was absolutely amazing. They bring the traditional garlic and warm pita to your table. The salad dressing is absolutely to die for and so fresh tasting. I had the vegetarian grape leave sandwich which was super tasty. My mom got a $ 10 special that came with hummus, salad, beef kafta, chicken Tawook and chicken shwarma. There was so much she has left overs for at least one more meal. This place is definitely worth it. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. They also deliver! Definitely a bonus if you live in the area.

Garlic, baba ganoush, kabob, veggies, tabbouleh, rice and fresh baked pita bread — prepared in heaven! Great flavor and quality throughout the meal. Service was totally on target. Checking back often to make sure everything was to our taste and to replenish whatever was needed. Chef made an appearance to ask our opinion regarding the food. A return visit is definitely in order. This is not your run of the mill Mediterranean restaurant!

Probably one of the best middle eastern meal I’ve had in terms of the food quality. We had Garlic Almond Gallaba(chicken), meet with grape leaves, chicken kabob and mango shake. Excellent execution: The food was perfectly cooked. I’ve had the best grilled vegetables ever! The chicken kabob was smokey and juicy. Perfect seasoning and beautiful use of spices. Have to agree with Tony T. here: I wish they were in a better location and there will be more people who know this place! Ourselves included always drove by and didn’t notice the place at all. We were brought in by Groupon this time so it’s great that they’ve started doing it. Salute to the Chef! Absolutely going back with or without Groupon and will recommend the place to friends!

I’m gonna’ have to agree with the 5-star ratings on here. The review pics of the Garlic Almond Gallaba w/chicken(Tomeka M.) and the Lamb Chili prompted me to stop by the other evening and they were spot on! Combine those with a Kibbee Nayee appetizer and copious amounts of the bread & garlic paste and it was probably one of the most memorable Middle Eastern meals I’ve had, :) . Service was very attentive and I thought it was a nice touch when the Chef came out of the kitchen to greet the customers and enquire on their dining experience. Lunch/dinner specials and nice selection of entrees, apps, combos, kids, seafood, sides, vegetarian, et … the Lemon Oregano Shish Tawook is probably next on my never ending«list of things to do», :).

I was more than trepidatious when picking this spot to eat, but man were my fears put to rest quickly. Samantha, the young lady on the telephone walked me through the menu, and answered every question with ease. She was extremely patient, as I asked several involved questions, and not once was she rude. Sounds easy, but it is actually quite rare these days. She took the time to answer everything in depth, and made sure I was comfortable with the answers. Great job! The lamb kabob was cooked so well, it was like I dreamed up my favorite temperature and had it presented as such. So tender, so juicy, so delicious. The shish kafta was another winner. Again, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and exploding with flavor with every bite. The hummus was good too. Now superb, but certainly better than your average place. Perhaps I received an older serving, because everything else was fantastic. The tabouli salad was the same as the hummus. Great tasting for sure, and certainly in my top 10, but not the best. But it did have a great refined lemon taste without overpowering the salad, which many places do-overly lemony or not enough. The fattoush was killer, and my girlfriend and I devoured it with a fury. The kibbee neyeh is the only thing I didn’t like. Again, it was nowhere near bad, but this dish was also not in my top 10, and with kibbee neyeh, it needs to be totally on point or else it’s not worth ordering. The baba ghannoui, which I ordered, but was not packed in my carry out, would normally have set me off with a Hulk-like furry, but didn’t. Why? Because when I called back to tell them they forgot to pack it, Samantha offered to drive 40 mins to my house to bring it to me! That’s a great employee!!! Instead, I took credit for the next time, because I will most definitely be back, and will be spending $ 60 – 75 every time I do. Thanks to the chef for the great food, and an even bigger thank you to Samantha for being the best customer service person I’ve encountered in years. Whoever the owner is needs to give her a raise, and fast, or else this chick is going to be poached by someone who is smart enough to take care of her!

If you haven’t been here, what are you waiting for? The garlic almond gallaba w/chicken is delicious! Try your favorite or try something new. They don’t skimp on the sides either. Lots of grilled veggies and bread. ENJOY!
