Everyone at work likes this restaurant for carryout but it is so busy that sometimes they don’t even answer the phone. I think they need more help. When you order online they pretty much just make your oder when you show up. We won’t be going here anymore, unfortunately.

I love Lebanese food but this place makes me not like it. I ordered shish kabobs(chicken) and all it is was four tiny chucks of over cooked chicken and two carrots. Not stratified at all. Won’t be back. The only reason I’m rating it two stars is because the guy at the front was very nice.

I wanted to like this place I really did, it’s just around the corner from us. The guy behind the counter was very nice. Unfortunately the food was not. Kafta sandwich was pink inside, that’s a big nono, it was also lacking in size and needed some substantial vegetables in it. The Falafel sandwich also fell short in size and vegetables as well. My husband had the Gallaba dinner which was too oily. But, the hummus was great. Needless to say, we shall not return. :(

horrible carry out. ordered shiskabob and kafta tonight and after getting it home we ended up throwing most of it out. Everything was way over cooked and dry to the point of the meat would just fall apart when you went to try and cut it with a knife. The cost of these two dinners were $ 37.00 and some change. Called them to let them know and the person on the phone offered to personally cook the same meals for us the next day. No thanks we have the taste of burnt lamb, beef, and chicken in our heads. We won’t be back. Way to pricey and horrific tasting food.

Another great experience. Went with the Sample Platter for $ 49.99 with extra toum. You can’t go wrong– it has a little of everything and is perfect for entertaining.

The guy on the phone seemed to be doing me a favor by taking my order. He simply seemed bored, even when walking me through the menu, which was helpful, but infuriating, because I felt his contempt through the phone line. The man behind the counter, who may or may not have been the same guy from the phone, was incredibly rude. He actually rolled his eyes when I paid with exact change. The lamb kabob, although well seasoned, was overcooked, and I could have gone without it. The same can be said of the shish kafta. It was an underwhelming blend of lamb and beef, overcooked to the point that it seemed like a purposeful, «F you,» from the kitchen staff to whoever dared order a meal and actually make them work. The main dishes weren’t the only disasters. The hummus was spectacularly bland. I took about three swipes of it with some pita bread, before I had to throw it out. It felt like bad baby food had made it’s way into my carry out box. The fatoosh salad was boring in every sense. There were no carrots or cabbage, and the pita chips were greasy and fried, as opposed to being crisp and baked. The only two positive things were the pita bread, which was fresh, but obviously not made in-house. The baba ghannouj was above par as well. It’s certainly not the best, or even in the top 5 I’ve had in the Detroit area, but it’s also not the worst. The bottom line is, this place is the Middle Eastern equivalent of McDonald’s. And to the owners, that is NOT a compliment. Go here if there’s no where else open in a 10 mile radius, and you need food of this type fast, otherwise, keep on driving.

Boyfriend went for a carry out. The guy behind the counter was very rude and not helpful in ordering at all. We really wanted large salad to share and he wanted a sampler. The food wasn’t all bad, but we ended up with a tiny salad, the combo and soup!!! The guy was adamant that this was what my bf should be ordering… Listen to your customers. You would sell more and I turn make more money! Bf said he was very rude to the person in front of him, as well, so this must be his MO. Aside from that the garlic dip was horrible. SO garlicky that we can’t even eat it. It literally burns your tongue. This place is right outside my neighborhood and I wanted it to be good so we could have a close place to frequent, guess not.

Very disappointed! I understand that it was getting close to closing time, but 20 minutes sounds like enough time for a salad… The wife and I decided to grab some food on the way home. Call ahead to place a carry out order, and upon answering the phone, the woman who answered had to shout to someone else, asking if it was ok to accept a carry out(not being put on hold but whatever). She responded with, «ok, but you have to be on your way right now and we will only make sandwiches!» I asked if a salad was ok being it is pretty much just lettuce with the chicken they would have to include in their sandwiches. Bad form, the food isn’t even that great or have an actual taste to make it worth going to. Only ate because of the convenient location, sorry, not even worth that!

Really good, surprisingly close. I must have driven by this place a thousand times without knowing it was there,… And the name less-than«grabs» your attention. Yet, when my wife and I had a craving for middle eastern and didn’t want to drive all the way out to La Saj on a Saturday night, we went to Unilocal laughingly asking if there was a middle eastern restaurant. I there was! With moderately great reviews from my fellow Unilocal-a-lots. So now I add my own. The food was good(not great) about what you’d expect from most at a reasonable price. The starter combo was decent size for two(hummous, baba, tab) and delicious. Sandwiches were just the right size, if a tad dry, but suppose that’s to be expected right? Garlic sauce was great! My daughter had the shrimp cilantro and it vaporized prior to myself getting a taste,… But I did get to sample a stray mushroom that thought it had escaped her clutches… Only to be quickly devoured. Quite we’ll spiced and had me sending out search parties for additional escapee’s… So it must have been fantastic. Sigh. Downside: had to buy bread, which came in a plastic bag. No little warm loaves of heaven you get from other restaurants. It was okay. Second, the smoothies had no ice? Delicious and cold, and it was freezing outside,… So I would have expected a little ice. Lastly, the baklava was,… Meh. Okay, but dry and rather small portion. When trying a new restaurant, my wife and I usually buy way too much.(Just in case the food’s not great, we can usually find some portion of it to sustain us). In this case,… We ate entirely too much. ;) I sit here on my couch, clutching my stomach, writing this review, and smiling that we found a new place close to home. Thanks to all of you!

Everything is good. Never had a bad meal. Call ahead if you can for carry out. Clean facilities and friendly staff. Sandwiches and platters are a good way to go. Sweet potato fries aren’t bad either.

I think this place is the best on the east side of schoenherr. The service is good and they are generous with portions and attentive. I never wait to long. Definitely more of a take out type place but that is usually my style anyhow.
