Not that good, didn’t take credit cards would of been nice to know ahead of time. But. The beer selection wasn’t that bad

This place is a gem in downtown Chatham. When you walk in, it’s like you’ve been transported to Wales. The ambience is brilliant with gothic arches over the bar and taxidermies. There are some lovely antiques; it’s odd and eclectic and awesome. To the reviewer who said that there wasn’t enough Irish fare: THISIS A WELSH pub; Wales and Ireland might be both in the UK but they are NOT the same… There’s about 200 miles between them and a lot of cultural differences. Before you leave a bad review, educate yourself. Seriously, that was a «face palm». The food is good with good prices, the menu is as eclectic as the décor in a good way. Definitely a must go.

I sometimes come here for a drink after the movies. Love the look of the place. Staff is very nice. They also have the best crab cakes I’ve ever had. Highly recommended! :)

Five stars remain from five years ago. Just want to update that the food has gotten even better with Corey in the kitchen. We opt for curry on Wednesday nights and the lobster roll any night. Too bad the TV is on by default. Why not leave it off until someone asks for it on; who needs the distraction at the bar of flickering images? At least it is not widescreen and color. There is another one upstairs for folks who need to watch a tube while the drink their brew.

Love it. Food’s good, beer/cider great, and atmosphere topnotch. Boardgames for kids, pool upstairs, a wood stove on the main floor for the rest of us… A wonderful place to wait for a movie at the Crandell or just unwind after –whatever…

«Totally Taxidermy» by Josh K. Peint O Gwrw is a strange place. And by strange I mean that I find it wonderfully fascinating(and odd) that such an eclectic Welsh-themed public house exists in Columbia County. And like every good pub from Wales, it has dark lighting, surly bar staff, duck wings and Taxidermy. Side Note: I have no idea about the taxidermy as an authentic Welsh pub connection. I have been to approximately 2 pubs during my brief visit to Wales. One public house had taxidermy and the other did not. But I distinctly remember that pub with Taxidermy had a better Glamorgan Sausage(or «Selsig Morgannwg» as they say in Welsh), and a more bitter barkeep with better whiskers. However, unlike every Welsh pub, Peint O Gwrw does not serve the Glamorgan sausage(fear not — fish and chips are of course served), And unlike every pub in Wales, Pein O Gwrw has a delicious, spicy Kimchi Burger on the menu in lieu of National Welsh dishes. Yes, I repeat, Kimchi Burger — which can be chased down with a pint of local Chatham Maple Amber instead of some old, stale cask ale. But if you truly want to get your United Kingdom on, grab a pint of Wells Bombardier instead. Whenever you find yourself on a nice little weekend foray to Main Street in Chatham, be sure to stop in to Peint O Gwrw for a bite, a pint and a healthy wash of Welsh in Upstate New York.

I’d go back. They have some interesting beers. It’s a nice little local spot that has local brews. Interesting taxidermy all around.

Tavern in a small town and the only place open, I wasn’t expecting much from the food. Booooy was I wrong! The pull pork and onion rings were top notch and surprisingly paired really well with their Chianti.

Five stars for the beers, the service, the scene, and the good company.(I can’t speak to the food since I didn’t order any.) To give a sense of how much this place is respected by the locals, you’ll find on the wall a certificate from the Buddhist temple up the street. It’s authentic. The wise ones know where to go. Ask to go upstairs and see the mid-century family room, completely decked out in mid-1960s kitsch, games, furniture, &c.

Eclectic spot with memorabilia from all over — mostly with a Welsh theme and some pretty good beers on tap. I’ve been here a few times in the evening — pretty crowded and short staffed — usually one waitress and one(surly) bartender for a bunch of tables and a crowded bar. It’s fun with a bunch of friends if you don’t mind waiting for drinks and food but not so much for a couple. However, it’s a great place to stop on a Saturday afternoon for a couple of locally brewed beers — we had the place completely to ourselves — the bartender was as pleasant as could be(maybe he gets surlier as the night goes on). I definitely would go back for a happy hour drink before going to the crandell.

It’s true — it’s a real Welsh-style pub. It’s a very comfy place with a good selection of brews on tap, cozy couches and a fireplace and most importantly — plenty of taxidermic animals. Apparently there used to be a real stuffed cat in the ladies room(snort, I won’t go there) but it appears to be gone. If I lived in Chatham, I’d probably be here a lot.
