My fiancé and I filled out an application for daycare assistance for her daughter and received a letter inviting us to a screening. The letter stated that the screening would take place on the morning of Saturday, March 12th. We’re actually getting married that morning! Surely they will have an alternate time? Surely there are families that need assistance that can’t all make it on Saturday? Wouldn’t an organization dedicated to helping families consider that some of the families that need help THEMOST wouldn’t be able to attend a screening provided in such a narrow window of time? I was sorely mistaken. The CCRC called me back and basically told me they’d keep me on the waiting list but another screening might not be for a few months — if even that. How dare they say that they«cultivate child, family and community well-being.» Think about the families — this is absurd.

I was very lucky to get into this program when I lost my job. I applied for cash aid while I needed it and qualified for child care. I have been emplyed since and off cash aid, but still have this benefit. every year they do a recertification process and as long as you provide all the information they are requesting on time, you will be ok. If you make«too much» they may terminate your benefits or pay a certain amount. also, when I call to try to speak to my case speacialist, they never answer, you have to call repeatedly, leave messages and emails. this is sthe only thing I dont like about this place. they expect you to be on time and have all the information they request but wont take the time to answer your call and help you if you have any questions unless you call and speak to their manager. Just saying. But all in all, I am grateful for their services because I know child care is so expensive now! no wonder some woman are staying home now to take care of the kids.

I applied for child care assistance 1 year ago. I drive nearly 60 miles a day from home to babysitter to work the back to baby sitter and back home! It’s exhausting and when I went to ccrc center to see if they can help speed up the process, the young lady said sorry you are still on the waiting list. We help the people that need the most help. I’m like well I really need help I can’t afford my babysitter anymore. She’s like I’m sorry mam some people have been waiting for almost 4 years. She’s like but if you receive cash aid you will get approved instantly ! I mean I’m all for helping people but people with fulltime jobs need help just as bad as the other people in need. Don’t waste your time applying here if you work fulltime and make more than 1200 a month.

I have been working with Shaila(spelling?) at CCRC for 10 months. It is usually a nightmare to work with any assistance program. My worker has made my experience smooth. She is knowledgable and always quick to follow up on my inquiries. She knows her job and she does it well. Thanks to CCRC my daughter has access to an incredible preschool program. I am grateful for this program and my worker.

I needed to get my livescan done for my future job, the parking lot is small but the security guard usually helps the drivers on where to park… once I got into the building, i thought i was going to have to wait since i did not make an appointment, the receptionist advised me to come back in an hour so I wouldn’t have to wait, i followed her advice and once I came back, she remembered me and passed me right along to the livescan technician… I was out within 20min! Overall they were extremely friendly!

CCRC promotes child development and family well-being. It focuses on child care, family support, economic development, and community education. I paid Bill Swindle, Community Development Coordinator, and Susan Montalvo, Manager of the Communications Dept a visit, and was introduced to the services available for the community and I was amazed. The most recent education program is focused on alerting parents to the dangers of leaving children in a car unattended. NEVERLEAVE A CHILD(ORANIMAL) ALONEIN A CAR. It takes only a few minutes to develop heatstroke or death for either. At the center, families are assisted to find child care, and can also borrow books, videos, toys and more from the CCRC Library. The library is open M — F from 8am to 4:30pm. Head Start, available at the Center, provides daily activities for preschoolers, and there are so many other activities happening, I just can’t list them all. CCRC provides training for child care providers, and training for teaching positions in early childhood education. It has a resource van that serves as an extension of the library, bringing books, toys and training materials directly to child care providers. Bill told me they are collecting books to distribute to low-income children. I went to my local library and took some inexpensive books to the center to donate. I got really excited about the DISCOVERYVAN, a field trip on wheels, that costs as little as $ 25 to entertain up to 8 kids! It can be booked to bring the rainforest or dinosaurs to your house. Along with the sensory experiences children receive, staff plan relavant age-appropriate activities, such as art projects and story time with hand puppets. I wonder what they would plan for a different kind of Adult Party? You can schedule the van by calling the center 818−717−1000.
