Where to begin?
Let’s wind back the clock a few years. One day, I found myself weighing 275 pounds with 44% body fat and said to myself that I was done with it. I started dieting and exercising. After showing significant results a friend of mind, whom I later found to be like a brother, offered to help train me. He helped me improve my diet, my technique, my general knowledge and my results. In two years I had shaved that weight significantly down and had a body fat level near 25%.
Then he moved. I was fine. Then I was injured. And I stopped everything for nearly a year because of that injury. Granted it was a serious injury, but I had no alternatives in my head. Like a rubber band, I bounced back halfway to where I was.
With no idea of how to continue the fight, I started looking for something. I found FightXP Fitness with Scott and Mandy. Now, I admit I don’t know everything when it comes to fitness, but I know enough to know when someone knows what they’re talking about or if they’re just following the latest fade… or worse regurgitating nonsense that can get me hurt. Scott and Mandy know their stuff. They don’t just apply it for «everyday athletes» their term for people trying to stay in shape, but also for their martial arts team, which is where this originated from.
Want to make a serious change in your life so that you can become a better you, this is the right place. XP will give you the tools, coaching and plan to get yourself on track physically and mentally to change your body. As long as you provide the dirve, they can help you work around your starting level or other issues to get you to a fitness level you wouldn’t believe.
God that sounds corny, but it’s true. You’d be surprised at what you can accomplish with good coaches. You won’t find better than what you will here.

One of the best decisions I ever made was joining Fight XP! I’m a middle aged mother of 4 who now enjoys renewed energy and smaller pant sizes. Each workout is fresh and unique. I never know what new way of strength training I will be facing each morning! I’m happy this has become a lifestyle for me.

I came here hesitantly and haven’t stopped coming. There’s no reason not to come.
The people make it comfortable and supportive experience. The only thing missing here is the gym ego-​then again that’s the best part.

I started coming to fight XP thanks to the recommendation of a couple of friends who raved about the place. I was never huge on going to the gym in the first place, felt intimidated by other gym goers, and always second guessed myself when using equipment. At XP that’s not the case. For the first time I feel excited about getting my work out on, it never feels like a painful task that I need to force myself into like I did at a regular gym. And the friendly people, oh man they never make you feel like you’re on your own; from the owner, to the trainer and all of the your gym-​mates, everyone has a smile and encouraging words to keep you going. With other gyms or classes i’ve tried the instructor stands at the front of the class, barks orders and probably doesn’t know your name; here they get on the floor with you, make sure every single person is exercising properly and safely, and that’s right they know your name AND ask how your midterms were.

I’ve surfed the web for the perfect workout for me for so long and all I had to do was look around the corner! Fightxp is a local gym with world class athletes as trainers equipped with health and fitness education that combines science, strategic training, and nutrition to deliver results! No-​pretense gym that’s designed to meet your fitness goals. So if being busy and lack of time and motivation were your excuses… it is time to end that drill!
…within 90 days, I lost 30 lbs, 2 inches in my waist, normalize my BP, and Triglyceride (bad cholesterol) lowered from 378 to 76 (normal is less than 150!).
Give this gym a try! I did and it all started with a 7 day plan that turned into 6 weeks then 90 days and still going… hopefully a lifetime! Great results for all ages and fitness level!!!

Finally a place where I don’t feel gymtimidation! Found out about Fight XP through my cousin who joined a summer fitness program and got pretty good results from joining! The trainers are fantastic! They help you throughout each workout session with the proper way to do each exercise and in turn you get results! I’ve been coming here for over a year and I can say that I’m stronger and more fit than before.
TLDR: excellent workout, great coaches, great people, great results!

I’ve been a member at FightXP for a few months and I can honestly say it’s been one of the best experiences of my life. When I came in for my free initial consultation, I didn’t have very high hopes in myself or what the gym had to offer. But I really liked Scott and his way of doing things and decided to give it a chance — I’m so glad I did!
This isn’t your standard gym — there’s no elliptical or treadmill, no hoards of people jockeying for position in front of the mirror, no high-​pressure sales tactics. There are different class levels, and they’re very small and focus on body-​weight and strength training exercises. The greatest thing is that you’re all here for the same reason and everyone genuinely seems to enjoy coming to class (myself included). Having that upbeat, happy mentality makes coming to class so much easier. You’ll really look forward to spending time with your XP Family.
The heart and soul of this place, though, is Scott. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what he does and he genuinely wants everyone to succeed. I think his real strength lies in his ability to encourage people. I walked in many, many pounds overweight AND with an ankle injury, and he made me feel that I was just as capable as anyone else of seeing results. He was fantastic about coming up with modifications for me so that I could still work out, despite being injured. To date, I’ve lost nearly 30 pounds and gained a lifetime of knowledge and confidence and his encouragement and support has been instrumental to that.
Bottom line, you’re going to pay more for a membership to FightXP than you would at one of the «other gyms», but I promise you that it will be worth every penny. My only regret is that I didn’t find out about it sooner!

I’ve been training here for over 3 years and have seen amazing progress in my health, strength, and weight maintenance. Coach Scott and Mandy work with each person, individulizing each work out to their personal level. Simona and Coach Scott train all members in proper nutrition. This program is a great way to gain strength (muscle), lose weight (fat), and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Plus, the program is quite reasonable considering all the benefits. My two sons, both elite athletes in Tawkwondo, also train here.

I came here with a friend over 2 years ago because I heard good buzz through Facebook and Google+, and haven’t looked back since. I like it because I don’t have to deal with long lines for equipment (or never get the equipment I want), 20 year olds who just want to talk REALLY loudly about dating, or a photo ID badge I’m bound to lose and have to pay $ 10 for.
It’s perfect. I know people’s name, and they know mine. I always have the equipment I want, because they have EXTRAS. Lastly, if I have to bring my kids, there’s a super friendly environment for them, and I don’t have to worry about their safety. It’s just awesome!
The only reason why I gave it 4 is because I’m not located in the valley anymore and can only come up the days I’m in the valley for work (2 – 3 days a week now).

First off, I only write reviews if I love or hate a place, and this place I love. :)
I knew of this business from Unilocal alone, and decided to stop in and check it out based on the reviews that I read. I was looking for a good place to come in and get healthy and shed a few pounds. I talked to staff and found them very comfortable, not just with the discussions of the program, but with our normal conversations as well. Most of the time when I’ve stopped by a gym, I feel like I always have to guard my wallet because they sell so hard, but this experience was much easier and more friendly.
Over the year that I’ve been going, I’ve done a few of their challenges — weight loss contests they have with members, and even attended a few of their theme workouts. I’ll post a pic of the «Ugly Holiday Sweater» workout. Anyways, I highly suggest XP for anyone who wants to, or needs to get in shape!

I used to attend this gym when I lived in So Cal, and just had to write a review on it. I first got introduced to XP through my brother, who’s been a member for a couple of years now (so you know it’s not just a flash in the pan gym which will close down in a week).
The workouts were great — high intensity circuit training. Without a doubt, the sessions helped me tone up. When you left the workouts you just naturally felt so much better, and I’m a big believer in the positive effects exercise can have on your mood.
The thing that I was impressed with the most though was the staff. I’ve been to other gyms and trainers and am more than aware of the «sell» that most try to spin your way, but XP was different. I talked pretty extensively with both the trainers and the nutritionist when I lived in LA, and I always had a great experience with them. What I thought was the biggest benefit, was that even though the trainers were motivational, they never went off the deep end with it like a lot of younger gyms. You can tell without a doubt that they really want people to evolve and progress.
If you’re in the area, stop by and do a trial. After all, it’s free, and that’s what it’s there for. Happy exercising!

I’ve gone to different gyms and tried everything from lifting weights, cardio work-​outs, running, personal trainers, Bikram yoga, hip-​hop dancing— you name it, I’ve tried it! In my quest for better health, I’ve sustained some injuries along the way – trainers and instructors telling me to «push to the limit» without really knowing the correct posture, positioning or technique and so I ended up hurting myself. I’m so glad when this program opened up and have not stopped coming here since!
The small group classes give you that «personal feel» and the instructors are able to stop wrong technique right then and there, preventing you from injuring yourself but still having a great workout. They’ve also helped me rehab my past injuries through the different workouts and I have to say that at 39years old, I am in a much healthier shape than I was at 28!
What’s also fascinating is that there are all different kinds of people in this group. We have really in shape 20yr olds to senior citizens in their 60s-​70s and pregnant women exercising! And no one feels like they are being cheated because everyone in the class sweats and has a great workout! It’s great for kids too (being a full time mom and full time career woman), I can bring in my kids here without being judged because everyone is so friendly and welcoming!
I love this place and would definitely recommend it for people looking for a supportive, knowledgeable, nonjudgmental and most of all, POSITIVE place to work out!

I participated in the 2012 XP Holiday Transformation Challenge over the holidays. This is the best thing that could have happened to me. I have lost 30 pounds and feel great. I have more energy now than when I was younger. Our new eating habits are the best. We eat more vegetable than ever. Its feels awesome to fit into clothes that I’ve not fit into in years.
The support that I received from Scotti and Simona was top notch. Thank you for everything you did for me. Words can not describe what I feel. Thank you so much.

I participated in the 2012 XP Holiday Transformation Challenge, yes over the holidays! Being a newbie to the diet and exercise circuit, I thought it would be a bit challenging however having so much support with the other participants and having Scottie and Simona be there to answer any questions, it was easy to get thru… Adjusting to the new HEALTHIER way of eating wasn’t bad at all! It’s now a HABIT!
We all think we eat healthy however we usually are not! Have you ever looked at the nutritional facts of the backside of packages/​cans/​frozen foods? I never did until the challenge.
Scottie’s instructional video’s and little tid bit posts were most inspiring and helpful to get me through this challenge =). The most challenging exercises I found were the Sagittal Lunge and Jumping Jacks. Physically couldn’t do them properly so Scottie was able to give an alternate suggestion… The hip lift in combination with various other exercises has made my back stronger. I haven’t had back pain since this challenge! So, I will continue to do them =)
Fueling was a struggle for the first 2 days. I thought eating 6 meals was way too much for me. I was used to eating 2 – 3 bigger meals daily. I had always consumed 3 liters+ per day of water, this was the easy part. I thought if I cut my meals in smaller portions, I would be able to deal with eating 6 meals… but Scottie said «NO», keep eating the right portions… so I did and then was able to eat the 6 meals by day 4. It’s a no brainer now controlling the portions!
As our sugar intake was cut for a bit, I thought I was going to have withdraws… NOPE, none at all. I also thought I was going to miss rice, NOPE, didn’t…I’ve learned that I’ve abused sugar and carbs. After reading the labels on the backside of boxes or packages, you realize how bad some packaged foods are for you!
Romaine lettuce leafs are my new best friend. I use to love my tortilla chips and salsa, but have learned to eat romaine lettuce leafs with my salsa. Sounds weird, but try it, you may like it!
I must say, the past 54 days have been the most greatest fueling/​training experience! It was a life changer!!! Best of all I wasn’t doing it alone, I had my XP ohana and especially my hubby! I do have to add that on Christmas Day, I walked in and the first thing my mom says was «WOW don’t you look great! You haven’t looked this light since before you had the kids and how proud she is of us for sticking thru the challenge»…Hummm, my youngest is 24, so what was she trying to say, ekkkk! Well my hubby tells me everyday how beautiful I am… ha, I love him! I’m sure he’s liking the fact that I have more shape and feeling great about myself. That must mean I get more clothes too!
So if you think that all of your favorite foods will be cut forever, no worries… it’s all about eating in moderation! REMEMBER never to gorge and weight loss isn’t going to happen overnight, so be patient Work Hard! You’ll see the results. Let nothing stand in your way.
As this challenge has ended, we’re waiting for the Summer Slimdown Challenge to begin and hoping that our friends that were skeptical in the beginning will be joining us!
I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this program to anyone that is on a pay-​per-​meal plan or even paying for gym membership. You can do this in the comforts of your own home, work or even when you are away on vacay. It’s totally portable and will go wherever you go… Besides, you’ll learn new and healthy cooking tips and recipes from the other XP participants!
BTW, in 7 weeks, I lost 14#‘s, 15 inches, dropped 4 pant sizes/​2 shirt sizes! Woohoo!

f you are seeking an alternative to the ubiquitous Cross Fit gyms, then this is the place for you.
There is nothing like the Fight XP program out there. You can expect a well-​conceived workout with Fight XP. It is an easy program to follow and outlines everything from your off day fitness challenges to a well balanced nutritional plan. Unless you’re the most self-​disciplined person on the planet, it’s impossible to get a workout this intense at a regular gym and I promise you, you will change your approach to working out. You will transform your mentality of just another «day at the gym» to full time everyday athlete.
This is not just another gym with tons of useless exercise machines. No Meatheads/​juiceheads bulking up in front of the mirror. No Barbies reading a magazine on the Stair Master. You get REAL people, REAL training and instruction, and REAL RESULTS.
The gym is small, but I like it because Scott (the trainer) is able to go around and keep you motivated and see if you are really doing the techniques right.
Think personal Training, without the PERSONAL TRAINING PRICE and it’s everything you love about Group Fitness classes without feeling like you are just a number.
The workout is Monday, Wednesday, Friday for 60 minutes and Scott brings something new, fresh & challenging. He cares about RESULTS and is a No Excuses kind of guy. Think Asian combination of Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper. Scott welcomes everyone — shy newbies, hard core elite athletes, shapes and sizes of every kind. If you put in the work and really commit to the Fight XP challenge, you will see measurable changes in LESS THAN 12 weeks, hell, you will see it in 6! I can’t do the workout justice by describing it, it’s something you have to try for yourself.
The location is nestled in the valley and parking is plenty… which…if you have ever gone to your popular 24 Hour Fitness, LA Fitness, Equinox, Ballys etc. this can be a pain, and you waste 20 minutes just trying to park.
